Dick & Janelle to do He Said/She Said

Good Evening, Big Brother lovers! Happy Sunday!!

I have excellent news for BB8 Dick and BB6/7 Janelle fans!!!

I heard from Dick just a few minutes ago, and here's the scoop, straight from the Evel one's mouth, or keyboard, as it were:
I will be doing my weekly webcast for Real Player again this year.

RealPlayer Superpass has given me my own tab in their browser, which will closely link my website and my myspace, etc... They have been great to work with, and our relationship is solid.

I have some fun guests lined up, and we will be out on locations more this season. We will also have more past houseguests....

The viewers were out in huge numbers for the show last year, and I don't see any reason why that would change.

I will also be doing a weekly webcast with Janelle to fill the void left by the Cancellation of Housecalls.

It will be a call in show that will talk about the feeds and anything and everything else going on in the house and being talked about on the internet.

I will be in studio while Janelle will be in NYC, but will be as good as sitting next to me co-hosting the show (well, as good as for you people, but I am getting jipped.)

We will also be doing a "He said, She said" type blog or column.

Where one week I will start off by writing my summary/thoughts/opinion on the happenings of the week in the Big Brother house. I will send it to Janelle where she will then write her opinion/feelings/thoughts about MY writings. It will come back to me, where I will write my thoughts on her response, then back to her.

The next week she will start.
    I will respond.
She will respond to my response.
I will respond and wrap it for the week.

Ok, did you follow that? lol...

    Basically we both comment twice.
We will take turns starting it off every week.

I had a very long, fun talk with Janelle just a few days ago and we were batting ideas back and forth, and thought it would be a lot of fun to do these two things together (although I had a couple more things I'd like to do with her.)

I have spoken with some people about both, the call in show with Janelle and the blob/column with Janelle and are talking to them now, but I will be speaking with more people about finding the appropriate home for each.

I am looking for sponsors for the Real Player show. The more money brought in means that we will be able to do more things with the show.

I am also working on a type of wrap party at season's end
    in Vegas......
This is gonna be f'ing nuts!
And the fans are all invited!

We are talking with a few different hotels in Vegas and they all have been great and really would like us to do our little shin dig at their place.

We are looking for sponsors to cover the cost of rooms, meals, flying in, and any other related costs to bring in as many past Houseguests as want to come out and be a part of it.

In addition to the party, there will be different events that will be available for the fans to attend. So, there will be different priced packages the fans can buy.

Some of the ideas we are bouncing around are, one or two of the Vegas Shows (with Houseguests tba)
Barry Manilow (who is a fan of BB)
Penn & Teller (who are fans of BB)
    Chris Angel

Other ideas for the fan packages also include things like..
A pool party hosted by several HG's
    Dinner with your favorite HG.
And I am still looking for others and which shows will be in town when we will be there.

We will be choosing a travel agency sometime soon and the fans can book though them in order to get the discounted rates on the flights and hotels etc...

And part of the money raised after covering all of our costs for the shin dig, will be given to a charity we choose. I am looking for which charity I would like to be associated with for this event. I am looking especially for those that help runaway kids or

    So, yeah.....
There is a ton I am working on.

    But as of right now.
Real Player and the show I do for them is solid.
I am still shopping the show and blog with Janelle.

Are ya excited?? I am! :)

CBS Official BB Site Semi Launch

Hey BB Lovers! :)

CBS has taken the next step: they've put a little something up on their official site. It's not much, but we'll take it.

There's video of a 30 second commercial (rehash from past seasons), which leads into housecalls reruns, and they're promoting a fantasy game, to get everyone coming to their site again... and of course, the obligatory ads for the feeds. Ignore them. Get your feeds from independent bloggers!! Same great deal, better karma.

What's most interesting is this: they have a row of anonymous cartoon HGs, and there are 12. Is this because there are going to be 12 houseguests, or is this because it just looked the best that way, in terms of graphics?

Many are claiming that the 12 cartoon HGs is an "official announcement" from CBS. It's nothing of the sort. Just as the producers of the show have nothing to do with the promo commercials touting "Bigger Secrets," so to the website.

Discuss. ;)

Is Big Brother 11 on a 9 Week Schedule?

***I originally posted this on Monday, June 1st. In the meantime, we've gotten confirmation of 12 houseguests this season (though rumors of 16 persist), and then, on June 17th, CBS issued a new statement which dramatically alters the initial impression. Please scroll to the end of this post for the new info!

Things that make ya go Hmmm...

CBS just formally announced that the Emmy Award show will air live on Sunday, September 13th, from 8-11pm. This is a week earlier than originally slated, and this news is definitely sending my Big Brother oriented brain into a big Hmmmm state.

Ya see, according to some unconfirmed tv schedules floating around, BB was supposedly scheduled to have it's finale on September the 15th, but those schedules were released before this change was announced.

Here's the official statement:
CBS’s broadcast of the 61ST PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS has been rescheduled for Sunday, Sept. 13 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT), one week earlier than the previously announced date.

"The new date moves the Emmys away from a weekend where CBS has an NFL doubleheader, which can delay the start of prime time on Sunday." said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music and Live Events, CBS. "This is better for the live event, the broadcast and our audience at home."

The original date for the broadcast was set prior to the NFL releasing their 2009 television schedule.

At first glance, I though it could be as simple as as Sunday night preemption for BB11, but then you notice the following Sunday is football.

I'm thinking this means that the upcoming season of Big Brother will wrap up and have its finale on Thursday, September 10th. If that's the case, Big Brother 11 will be only 9 weeks long, and the implications of that are... potentially fewer houseguests, and/or more double eliminations.

Then again, heck, they could wrap it Tuesday the 8th. Or, they could skip the Sunday show, and wrap it up on Tuesday the 15th, which would actually make it a (couple days) longer running season than BB10, which ran July 12th - September 16th. There's just no telling.

I checked to see if they've released the start dates for any of the staple fall shows, specifically Survivor and The Amazing Race, and they haven't. There's a fall schedule, but no dates.

What do you think?

Here's a clip of the Julie interview with Robyn Kass, Boogie and Brian Hart from a little while ago when casting was still in full swing. 2 minutes in, Julie asks Robyn, "What are you looking for, as we throw 10 new strangers into the house this summer?"

Could be a Julie oops. Maybe so, maybe no. I spoke with a contact at CBS, and they will neither confirm nor deny...

***CBS issued a new press release on June 17th, and it looks like we're back in business for a full season, and as we already know, with a full cast. :) Here it is:

The 61st PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS has been re-scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 20 (8:00-11:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.

"After we announced plans for September 13, MTV informed us they were locked into the same day for the Video Music Awards, with venue and sponsorship agreements in place. We had the flexibility to move; they didn't," said Jack Sussman, Executive Vice President, Specials, Music & Live Events, CBS Entertainment. "It's best for the industry and the audience that these events not compete against each other. Huge thanks to the Television Academy and Don Mischer for quickly moving mountains to make this happen. If the Emmy broadcast has as much excitement as the scheduling of the date, viewers are in for an unforgettable event."

"We appreciate CBS and the Television Academy taking on the mammoth task of moving such a huge event as the Emmy's to accommodate the Video Music Awards. Now audiences will get to experience two phenomenal nights of entertainment," said Stephen Friedman, General Manager of MTV.

To present the 61st PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS as close as possible to its scheduled 8:00 PM start, 60 MINUTES (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) is planning a flexible broadcast following CBS Sports late afternoon NFL game.

The 61st PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS is being produced by Don Mischer Productions. Nominations for the 61st PRIMETIME EMMY® AWARDS will be announced July 16 at 5:40 AM, PT from the Television Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.

There ya have it! Crisis averted. ;)
