The last Thursday in July, I had an emergency operation for perforated appendix. Before going in they asked did I want a phone and tv in my room. I said 'um yes, Big Brother is on tonight'. This was before my mom even got there.
They didn't discover the appendix had burst until they tried the laser so the operation took a lot longer than they thought. Absolutely drugged to the max (don't even remember it) they brought me to my room. My mom says I slightly opened my eyes and asked her 'what time is it?' ~ she said 'Honey, sorry, you missed it' ~ I said 'Damn' and passed back out :)
Now THAT is dedication lol

I agree with most of the opinions of how BR act, and I do not think she is poor innocent Rachel anymore than I think JJ walk on water.
However, if a woman hasn't been around, or is not used to, a man dropping the Eff bomb at them in a "raised voice" everytime he get's the least bit irritated, I can see where it could be perceived as mad/mean/anger.
Also, in the real world, if Jeff went at someone's girlfriend or wife like that, he might just get his jaw jakked.
For the Record, I do think he can be an amazing guy, funny, cute, sweet etc..
but he is not nearly perfect enough for me to not see what is right in front of me.
Btw, I can't stand that edit of the "Shelly/Rachel/Porsche" smackdown. What about Kalia?! What about what actually happened? Urg!

I'm reposting this comment from the last post, just because I've found the last few days of Brendon back in the house so irritating...
ReplyDeleteBrendon is a perfect example of how a technically "smart" person can still be incredibly obtuse and ignorant.
His comments about Rachel having PTSD from being in the house last year straddle the line from being pathetically ridiculous and mildly offensive.
While Rachel no doubt experienced some negative consequences to being in the house last year, I feel quite strongly that she does not suffer from PTSD from the experience.
Although I am not a medical professional that has had the opportunity to evaluate Rachel, my certainty stems from the fact that she has willingly chosen to re-enter the environment. Also, although people didn't like her and said unkind things to her, I don't believe her life was ever in danger, which is one of the causes of PTSD.
There are many people in the world that legitimately have PTSD (soldiers, rape survivors, natural disaster survivors), and putting Rachel in that group due to her BB experience is somewhat insultingly and truly ignorant.
If Rachel has PTSD from BB, then the medical definition of PTSD will have to be changed to include every junior high and high school kid that was teased and talked about nastily.
Well done Brendon, you have once again shown your brilliant ignorance in flying colors.

If she can put up with the anger and the controlling from Brendon, Jeff is a pussycat. His bark is def. worse than his bite. I think she just wants Brendon to stick up for her. She is definitely no 'fair maiden'. When she gets going she is vicious and nastier than Jeff could ever be. I was glad today when she finally had to admit that Jordan and Jeff WERE there for her last week after telling Brendon she was 'all alone' and they were so mean to her.

I think when things are said in passing (like Shelly to B&R about the final 3) when it goes no further, when it is never mentioned again...that it's easy to forget it was said originally. I truly think Shelly says things in passing and then blocks them from her mind. She brought up the 'lie' (truth) about her putting Adam and Porsche up to Jordan who she originally told it too :) Short term memory?? She isn't old enough (as me) to blame it on age :)

ReplyDeleteStephi, I am so glad you brought that up about Brendon's diagnosis of PTSD for Rachel. First of all I don't think AGP could even allow someone back in the game if they were clinically diagnosed with PTSD over a game they want to get back into. But that' for the BB Psychiatrist to decide.
ReplyDeleteI find it insulting too since I do suffer from PTSD over Katrina. I don't think I have ever come out and said that here but it's true. The nightmares of reliving it still haunt me and I go into panic attacks over major thunderstorms.
My therapists have told me I should talk about it more so I am copying this to show my current psych. He'll be happy.

I'm blunt like Jeff and it annoys me when people take offense to out and out brutal honesty without all the sugar coating. By saying she lived in Vegas, I was referring to a previous post that said 'if she isn't use to guys like him'...as for her boyfriend, he's treats her far worse than Jeff does and sugar coats it with I love yous. Not an option for Jeff :)

ReplyDeletei have a hard time with people saying "it's just a game" so it's okay to lie, cheat, back stab, defame people and their characters, and accuse them of lying and just degrading them on tv.....I have had kids and grandkids play sports for many years, and just because it's a game doesn't mean that they can slam other players or make fun of them or cheat, etc....You can play a game without being mean and hateful....Just saying, thanks for listening..lol

ReplyDeleteNow onto the posts of Jeff being disrespectful to Jordan. I dont see what has ppl swelled. I have heard the same comments directed at me and my hubby for the last 23 yrs. We r high school sweethearts, I was 15 he was 17 been stuck like glue ever since and we carry on much much worse the Jeff and Jordan. Its all in good fun. We will say similar things to each other and then crack up and hug and smooch. PPL relate in diff ways. The biggest signal of respect to me is that Jeff doesnt have sex with Jordan in the house, mutual agreement between them both. Not wanting to have their biz out in feed land.

ReplyDeleteGood for you for talking about a difficult subject. I know exactly what you are talking about re nightmares etc, as I am a survivor of the 2004 Thailand tsunami and have also been clinically diagnosed with PTSD.
I didn't mention that originally, but since you are brave enough to post it here, I'll applaud you for doing so by following suit.
I do not doubt that there is some "trauma" associated with being in the BB house, but it is nothing compared to a true PTSD experience that comes from being in a truly life threatening and abnormal situation.
Since Rachel has chosen to re-enter the house, this is what I find most ridiculous about Brendon's PTSD diagnosis of her.
Both you and I know that nothing in the world (including 500K) would ever prompt us to relive Katrina or the thailand tsunami over again.

On thing I am surprised not one person comment on was when Kalia won the trip and what Rachel said, Rachelonly thinks of herself. After the POV when they went up to the HOH room and Rachel asked Dani to back door Jeff. She is the most ungreatful self centered person I have ever seen.For Rachel and Kalia to say Jeff took the money away from his girlfriend they need to get real. Jeff and Jordan have been so good to her and she acts like this.

ReplyDeleteI rarely get to do the viewing parties because the show coincides with Pumpkin's bedtime, but I always look forward to reading the comments the next morning and seeing if my impression of everything is the same as everyone else's.

My favorite part was The phone call and everything related to it...Jordan giving her the call, almost forcing it on Shelly, and then seeing her family....did anyone else notice Tony's blue eyes?

I'm sitting here wondering why I ever wanted Brendon back in...is it me or does he seem worse than before????? Trying to mess with Dani's head really backfired on me. Dani wins again! heh
