Live feed viewers, it's time to Rewind your Minds! Allllll the way back to Friday with the Have Have Not Comp and Nominations, because that's what the tv only folks are going to see tonight. So much has happened since, it seems about a decade ago, but that's the way this works.
Some day I may understand why anyone would be a tv only when the live feeds tell the whole story and cost next to nothing.. Probably not.
Here are some visual aides to help with the Mind Rewind. ;-) First we have the post nomination ceremony awkward hug fest..
Immediately followed by the far more truthful silent dance party in the Storage Room..
...and of course, the Victory Celebration up in HoH, led by Helen.
I'm already wondering how Aaryn's likely ReNom of Candice is going to be framed for the TV Only audience.. Aaryn is too. I wonder if the fear of that may effect Aaryn's choice of who to put up in Spencer's place. We'll know for certain tomorrow after the Veto Ceremony.
While putting Candice on the block as the renom makes perfect sense gamewise, it could get pretty ugly. As the only HG who's been outed on tv for repeated racist comments, the backlash from the non-BB media for Aaryn having both Howard and Candice on the block simultaneously is a predictable powder keg just waiting to go off..
On Wednesday night or Thursday, when they find out about it.
But.. I'm getting way ahead of the Sunday Show. Think Nominations.. Think Have Have Not.. Think Diary Room Sessions..
I'd bet on the Howard - Candice relationship getting significant airtime too. It'll build sympathy, and frankly, if that footage isn't put into play over the next couple nights, it may go to waste.

ReplyDeleteAs of this posting, I think this is the first time I will not care one bit who is in the final of BB.
McCrae-The romance with Amanda seems to be bringing out the worst in his personality. Im hoping he can redeem himself soon or that Amanda is voted out way before the end so he can play on his own.
Jessie-She hasnt done much in the game and hasnt impressed me at all, but im hoping she will come into her own soon.
Andy-Another floater in my opinion but he definately keeps his irons in the fire.....everyones fire. Hes on my radar but I still dont know what I feel, and that alone sounds an alarm in my head.
Helen--Leaves me confused, switching back and forth, in and out and she does talk too much to too many people. She and Andy strike me as slightly different figures cut from the same cloth.
Elissa--I wanted her to have a fair shake at the game, but shes left me feeling like I wasted my votes for her in the long run. The more I see her the more "phony" she comes off. The Reilly sisters both leave me wondering if they are purposely being disingenuous or if its just the way they look and sound that makes me feel that way.
Judd--Hmmm, he didnt begin to come off to me as anyone Id root for in the game until just before he became HOH. Dont know if its a problem with meds or what....but he turned a little bit too quickly for me to believe the buildup of any drugs were completely out of his system that fast. And now I question, if this is the REAL Judd.
Candice--Started out as someone I had no opinion about for maybe the first ten days. By the time I was paying attention she seemed to have a clue about what was going on in the house, but then quickly lost it once Howard began paying her attention. Id like to see her play without him around to distract her.
Ginamarie--What is there to say?
Spencer--I have words...but this probably wouldnt be published if I used them.
Howard--Many reasons why this guy does not impress me. It disgusts me when anyone uses another person, but I admit I really hate it when a man uses a woman. Candice states shes old enuf to know better, but I am 47 myself and Ive been around women older than me. I know how the heart overrides the brain. The things Ive heard about Howard in regard to dog fighting however cinched the deal for me. Children and animals....you dont abuse or contribute in ANY way to their abuse. I despise anyone that doesnt value their lives.
Amanda--I appreciate a strong woman as I consider myself to be one. She is very demanding and pushy, but I was willing to
overlook that bcos I felt she was at least playing the game from the position of someone without true "power". But shes made a few too many statements, whether in jest or not doesnt matter, that depict her deepest feelings in my humble opinion. In any event, I can no longer stand behind her. Say "im just kidding" all you want.....if you keep saying something enuf I know that you arent.
Aaryn--She has at least calmed it down a bit. I hope that she does learn something from this experience but im not convinced she will. She seems to hear, but still feels shes right and hasnt done anything wrong. You have to admit that you have a problem before you can set about finding a cure for it.
I know this game brings out the worst, and on occassion the best, in people. I cant pretend that I wouldnt go off on someone and say or do things I normally wouldnt. But I know that if something wasnt already inside of me, if I admit to it or not, nothing could force me to become someone that im not. Change like that often takes years. The game amplifies...but Im not sure it substantiates a personality trait that you dont have. Theres no doubt that a rare few CAN play the game completely outside of who they are, but that in and of itself is a scary thing.

ReplyDeleteI seem to be on bb schedule when it comes to sleeping. I did finally wake up today after 1pm. Bless Mac, he just let me sleep until he was really hungry and had to go out.
Now he's out in the kitchen smelling the cranberry orange muffins I just baked. I'll be taking some with me for my chemo tomorrow but if anyone wants one just holler.
Ok now we must rewind and watch the critters do some comps.

I understand in theory why people are upset by the thought of Howard leaving at the hands of Aaryn. However, the reality is that if he leaves it is not at the hands of Aaryn. The people sending him out the door are the people voting and none of those hands belong to Aaryn.

ReplyDeleteI dont get the feeds so I cant be 100% sure, and that applies to everything that I read......but ive seen it posted on other sites and everyone seems to indicate the exact same thing.
Basically he mentioned that he enjoys dog fighting. I dont have the exact wording of course nor do I know exactly when it happened, but ive seen a significant number of posts that give me reason to think its true. It did occur somewhat early in the game I think.
If it proves to be wrong, Ill owe him a personal apology.

ReplyDeleteROFL! I get it trust me. My dear departed mother gave me a Christmas gift one year. It was a TV Lamp and I can't bring myself to type more than that regarding its description.

Believe it or not, I am sometimes too nice for my own good. She had one just like it and to be nice I said how much I liked it. Serves me right for lying to my mother.
OK, I have to describe it a bit and pray no one here has one similar and loves it. It was a ceramic Spanish Galleon with big sails, also ceramic, also brown with gold marbling. Inside the windows of the below deck level was the light. A reddish light that flickered as if lit by fire.

ReplyDeleteHelen has worked overtime today picking out who is and is not going to jury (based on who she thinks will vote for her). Apparently Helen hasn't stopped to consider that once people get to jury they start comparing notes. The most memorable affect was the way almost the entire jury turned on Natalie in season 11 even though over half of the people had been her allies in the house. Helen may want to rethink her strategy.

Seems like it happens every year (and sometimes turns around if something big happens, although it hasn't happened to me yet. I noticed that I don't usually see the follow-up comments saying "I'll never watch again" on this site like I have on others. What do you think - is there a cycle to the fan emotions like there is to the HG paranoia?

ReplyDeleteSo the night of the fight Aaryn was a non entity to Elissa and now 6:50pm cams 1/2 they are chatting it up like old friends. How things change.
ReplyDeleteAlso I believe it started at 6:30pm not sure which cams but Aaryn was talking to Helen on the hammock and they were discussing the racial issues. Aaryn is either in denial, deep denial or she doesn't remember what she said because she says how much it hurts her to be portrayed that way and that she fears for her life outside the game because that is out there.
7:07pm cams 3/4 Howard and Helen have a meeting about what Candice did last night re: her discussion/confrontation with Helen.

Helen asks Howard about the secret alliance. Howard tells the same story he did before that it was a trap to see who would tell the other side. Helen may push for Candice to go.
Helen says she's not mad at Howard or even Candice. She's over it she was just upset at what Candice said.
Helen is setting up Howard to use him for later when she takes on McCranda I believe.

ReplyDeleteI was concerned about this when I saw it on other sites as well... My sister likes Howard, but she's a big animal lover (Fosters and everything), so I knew if it was true, she'd dislike him... So I looked it up, since everyone was just bashing him for "loving dog fights"... What I found was:
Thursday, July 11th at 1:15 A.M.
Most of the guys were discussing dogs... and then Howard mentions that he knows someone who did dog fighting... He explains how it works, and what he knows... But I never, at any point, heard him condone or approve of it... I was listening for it, too... Cuz I wanted to be able to show my sister what he said... But the discussion was more informational than encouraging...
So I think, based on listening to the whole conversation, that it's a stretch to say that Howard enjoys/approves of/condones/appreciates dog fighting... He may know someone who does it, and/or know how it works... but he at no point says he enjoys it or has done it...
That's why I don't trust other people's rants about house guests... We see people through our own filters, and things get viewed different ways... You love this person, so everything they do wrong has an excuse/pass... You hate that person, so every little thing they do gets blown up...
Don't get me wrong... I was fully ready to hate on Howard and show my sister the clip, if he did "brag" about it... but it was all very clinical... That was my take on it, anyway...
Either way, FYI for those that are curious... Ya'll might even interpret it differently than I did... Either way, the Flashback will let you see for yourself...

ReplyDeleteHey, Carolyn! Thanks again for all your great work so far this season! Just wanted to share one thing that has been rattling around in my head. I have been observing a paradigm shift with regard to the attitudes in social media surrounding the HGs. I realize that in the BB house, allegiances change, nominee preferences come and go, etc. Just over a week ago, everyone was calling for Aaryn's head on a stick in the #BB15 convos. Then, the Gries family reportedly hires a PR firm to help with Aaryn's damage control efforts on her character once she leaves the house and WHAM! Suddenly I am reading everything from wanting to evict Helen to "BlameCandice" with a hashtag in social media. Are these the results of Mama Gries' dollars at work? Has that PR firm begun to change the perception of their clients' daughter as it pertains to the court of public opinion? Time will tell.

ReplyDeleteRe. Howard and dogfighting. He was discussing it with some of the other male HGs back on July 7th at about 1.13 AM on camera 3.
Howard was talking about 'his homeboy' who used to train pit bulls (that means train to fight). He told the story of how they were fed raw meat to learn to love the taste. He talked about the training and how a winning dog brings in $20K for a fight. He mentioned one of his homeboy's dogs that ripped apart the stomach of one of his other dogs. He told about the term for dog fighting on the black market being "Pizza".
So he may not have participated in it himself... but it says something about a person's character as well. He is friends with this guy today... the guy still works with dogs but in a different way. I know that in my world I would not be friends with a Michael Vick type of person any more than I would be friends with a pedophile or somebody into child porn. Call it guilty by association if you want. Some people want to lynch an immature ignorant young woman for her stupid ass racist comments on a game show... while not reacting to the issue of illegal dog fighting. How this is acceptable in anybody's book is beyond me. I would kick a shady phukc kind of friend like that to the curb forever... if it was in the past or not. Anybody who has tortured an animal or child does not change 'just like that'. If Howard would have, in his conversation with the dudes at the house, have spoken up about the cruelty and immoral behavior and more... different story. I hope he addresses the issue if somebody asks him when out.
Ok all you hard core Dishers...thanks for your comments and insights...remember this is an entertainment show....dont get wrapped up in reality...it doesn't exist....lying is a key part of the show...lets root for the most entertaining HGs ...again good job Caro and MM!

ReplyDeleteThe info you both provided was very helpful. I dont have the feeds so I wont be able to go back and see the convo for myself at this point. I was never under the impression that Howard actively took part in the dogfighting. But the things I read led me to believe he didnt have much of a problem with it.
Truth be told it wouldnt have mattered to me what happened....to be present and view something like that or know enuf about it to speak on it is disturbing to me. If someone knows about animal cruelty taking place and does nothing, in my mind they are just as guilty as the perpetrators. I feel guilty that I cant take in every stray I see...so its a topic I admit I may not be entirely reasonable about.
