As you may know, we'll be hosting viewing parties here on BBDish for the Emmys this Sunday, Survivor all season long, and The Amazing Race! So this is not goodbye til next summer... It's only goodbye to Big Brother 15.

This makes 9 full seasons of live blogging BB for us here on BBDish. I'm kind of stunned by that number. Quite a healthy number of you have been here with us since the beginning, even more since BB8, and more still over the past couple of seasons. 26 million hits and counting.. I'm pretty floored by that too. And truly, truly honored and grateful!
Without question, this has been a difficult season for many, myself included, and with that in mind, I'd like to approach this finale with a new attitude... One of new beginnings.. Many of the BB15 houseguests are in for a very rude awakening when they re-enter the world. How about we focus on just enjoying each other's company tonight? ;-)

The end of BB season is rather bittersweet this year. I think most of us are glad it's over and happy that we will not be hearing the things that come out of these HG's mouths anymore. But on the other hand, after 3 months of "living" BB, starting tomorrow we return to our real lives. Withdrawal is a tough road especially when you don't want to go. With any other addiction (not sure if you are a BB addict? Here's a hint: If you are reading this, you ARE an addict!!!) you go through steps to recovery, but with BB it's cold turkey all the way. Giving up these houseguests is easy, giving up this community it hard.
ReplyDeleteI accidentally found this site in season 8 and I have been here ever since. Up until the last few weeks I have sat quietly in the corner, listening and watching. This year I got scared and had to speak up. First I saw for myself just how ugly some people have been to Carolyn. The name calling alone would be enough for most people to give up blogging - but thankfully not Carolyn! Michigan Man was also instrumental in my decision to speak up. I knew a lot of people count on him to keep them up to date while Carolyn is getting a nap in the evening. MM's work schedule is crazy busy and I thought he wouldn't be able to continue to update (or at least could use some relief!). Lessa - what can I say? She decided to have a life instead of being here with us. Shame on you & Good for you!
And then there was Grendon.....
I have counted on her for ....what?....8 years? She has been my voice for the most part thru every season. I think about what to say and she types it up (only she does a better job at saying it than I would). In those little instances when our opinions differ, we usually reunite after a few days. But this year she threatened to quit...to give up. Granted it has been a most difficult year, but I *depend* on her. I need her to speak for me.
The very thought of losing this blog family that we have come to know and appreciate is just to damn scary!
Thankfully the one person who has created and provided this community for us has never given up. Carolyn you are one strong, independent, intelligent, humorous lady! I am so glad you waded through this nasty mess of a season and still managed to make us laugh and stay together! Your many talents have enriched our lives every summer. Much thanks!

Hello all! I made it! The meds have helped some and I'm able to be here! I didn't get to see the episode where McC got evicted yet, but I can go back and watch that later.
ReplyDeleteAs I said early this morning while my first BB may have been an extremely negative one as far as viewing is concerned, it has been very positive for me in my life...
In fact, this sounds overly dramatic, but you all have been an intricate part of my support system. Truly life saving when the depression got really bad.

ReplyDeleteHey Ryder, I agree that BB ending is hard, and there may be some people who are addicts, but overall I take offense to comparing most peoples love of BB to the disease of addiction.
ReplyDeleteAddiction is often classified as a physical dependence, spiritual malady and mental obsession. I know I have expierenced all 3 pertaining to alcohol. I have seen addiction kill too many people I love. if you have that with BB, then by all means, PLEASE seek help.
I know you didn't mean any offense, but please remember that in the future.

Csrolyn, you probably disagree, but I'd like to see Andy take GM. I know that is probably foolish of him and she is *&*^* but there is something about her. I think all of the final 3 have their very distasteful sides, but in Andy, I see his sense of humor. He's funny. Spencer has a mature side of him that I saw and GM is just out to lunch and very immature, but there is a spark in her that I see.

She is awful at questions, she just repeats herself, but from what I've seen on some pageant shows that's what they're taught to do if they don't know what to say. Andy deserves to win over her. Yes he played everyone, but it's a GAME, that's what they're supposed to do. That being said, this year's final 2 is a FAR cry from Dan and Ian last year... I'm hoping next year's final 2 is much more worthy.
