The Morning After Overnight Report

Good morning, BB Lovelies! :0)  Happy Thursday!  Surprise!

Some habits are hard to break, and since quite a few of you are going to auto pilot here this morning with your coffee, I thought it'd be a nice surprise for you to find a little something.

First off, I'd like to wish a heartfelt congratulations to Andy Herren for his 7-2 win of Big Brother 15!  Well played, sir! Well played.

Andy: My biggest advice is be able to adapt week to week in this house... and be in the know.

I stayed up what feels like half the night watching the backyard interviews, and I'm so glad I did.  I went into the interviews just needing closure, but I came away with so much more.

After such a rough season, it was great to be able to bring it all full circle with these house guests, and to see the vast majority of them as purely human again.
Not game players.. Not villains..  Not heroes..  Just fallible humans in the unenviable situation of being recorded 24 hours a day for an interminable length of time and under incredible pressure.  I wonder how many of us could withstand the scrutiny of the human experiment..

If you didn't see the interviews, I'm hopeful that they'll be compressed and made available either on cbs.com/bigbrother or cbs.com/connect.  They're more than worth watching.  As luck would have it, Jeff just said they would be up on cbs.com.. but he didn't specify which link, so try both. ;-)

Michigan Man was up watching too, and sweetheart that he is, he gave his rundown on all the interviews!  If you'd like to see, follow this link to the comment section of the Finale Viewing Party Post.

In between interviews, I was chatting with Lessa, and she wanted to make a special Overnight Report appearance too!

~~~*~~~
Hey Dishers!Time for one last Late Night Lessa shout out for the season... this one certainly had it's highs and lows for all of us. I wish I could have been around more, but I'm ever grateful for the support you all showed me when I could be here - Here's hoping next year I'll be a little more available... AFTER the honeymoon of course!
As for the season, and the winner.. I know it might not surprise some of you, but I am pleased. Andy - love him or hate him - played a hell of a game, and explained himself well. He chose wisely beginning to end, and he deserves every penny of the $500k the government lets him keep after taxes
Love them or hate them all - My hope is that they learn and grow and that we, the viewers give them the benefit of the doubt and remember that under it all, they are human. Unique. Just like us.
But now, as we eagerly await next season, I turn my full attention to the wedding planning. If you'd like to follow along with the madness, bookmark http://becomingulricksen.com and do so - You are all welcome to join the crazy.
For now though, I simply want to express my love and appreciation, not for the support you've shown me - but for the love and adoration and support you've shown Carolyn. She has a soft heart, she does, and I know every kind word was well deserved and greatly appreciated. So thank you - without you all there would be no Dish. And we ALL love our Dish - and most of all, our fearless leading Dishchick.
So, long story not very short at all - much love from Alaska, and see you next year!
~~~*~~~
That's all for now!  Hope to see you Sunday for the Emmys Viewing Party!  Wednesdays for Survivor!  And Sundays this fall for The Amazing Race!  All during the east coast broadcast time, and Alllll here on BBDish!  If you missed the Finale Viewing Party last night, here's the link: Click Me Baby One More Time! ;0)

Good morning Carolyn and Lessa. I work nights and usually stay up all night even on my nights off. So, I stayed up for all of the interviews. Some of the house guests surprised me.

Towards the end of the night, Jeff mentioned that these interviews will be up on CBS.com later today.

Thanks for everything you do and I hope to make a few of the Survivor and TAR viewing parties this season.

Good Morning Carolyn, Lessa, all

You read my mind knowing I'd come here for the aftermath. Through it all Andy did play quite well. He back stabbed my favorite, besides Judd, so I was bitter for a bit, over it. Congrats Andy.

Thanks once again for another great season on The Dish. BB isn't the same otherwise. So many great people every year and such a nice place to come "home" to. Hope everyone has a great year. I'll stop by when work permits.

Bye, bye for now. {{{{{BB HUGS}}}}}

Nice surprise. Didn't post much this season, between being gone for three weeks and for the most part not finding much in the way of good to say about this year's house guests. Thank you, Carolyn, for making BBDish the Field Hand's Guide to All Things Big Brother.

Good Morning Carolyn!
Ah you know us too well, that we would wonder back for a little BB decompressing...heehee!
Congratulations to Andy! Well played! Even down to the last minute telling the jury that what people thought was the missing thread of loyalty to his game was that he was loyal to GM from beginning to end....Brilliant game move! true or not, Kudos to that!
Gm couldn't hold logic together for the Q&A, not that would have mattered. Andy had a better game.
Jury votes reflect players who respect a game for being out played.
See you for the survivor and AR!!!

Ahhh. We are doing comments here. I waited to see if others would or if we would leave this one for final thoughts from you and Lessa.

I missed the parties last night. I felt it best that I have a party with me so I didn't get upset by final vileness. I didn't see much but I am smart enough to know it was still spewed. Carolyn, again, you have earned your halo for all you put up with during a BB Season and what you shield us from. Yours needs to be platimum. No cheapass gold for your crown.

I celebrated last night. And I felt good about doing so but it was bitter sweet since I did it without my friends on the Dish.

Still I celebrated and I raised my Rainbow Flag and saluted it. It took 15 seasons but we have finally broken a barrier. We have a gay male winner. He may not be the perfect example of what I would have wished had been the first. That honor would have gone to Will Wikle, the young nurse from Tupelo, Mississippi who has now moved on to fashion modeling and pole dancing, but he's done it with pride and he's done it while maintaining respect. I can't believe he was on BB so long ago. His season was Season 6. Google him to learn more about him.

But I'm happy with Andy Herren. He wasn't perfect but he was far from what everyone tried to turn him into. The explanations of his strategies he shared last night gave me more respect for him than I already had. I keep reminding myself it's the jealous people who have to tear someone down to make themselves feel better that made him out to be such a terrible person. He said things that made him look bad all by himself but they were few compared to others. His detractors were the ones that would keep a single word out of context usually, and keep the hate going.

I'm glad CBS somewhat redeemed itself before handing out the America's Favorite Player award. by naming the top 3 vote getters we all knew who got the top two percentages of honest votes. The Brenchel Army won the battle but CBS had the last word. I feel certain Judd would have won had the vote been a fair one. At least I think Elissa knew she wasn't truly deserving. Didn't I read that she said she would be donating the money to a very worthy charitable cause? The name escapes me now, but I was impressed when I read it. Did anyone ever spot Rachel and Brendon in the audience or were they absent? What about Elissa's husband? Maybe I need to re-watch again.

Other things I laughed at last night... First was Amanda. There were a couple of times the camera shot to her and you could tell by the fire in her eyes and her wider than it was 90 days ago ass that she was ready to jump out of the chair. I do seriously believe she wanted to get up and direct the show, or at least tell someone to STFU a few times.

I really felt sorry for Nick but what a trooper. He knew he had a role to play last night and he did it justice. I caught one of the first views of him as the early evictees were brought in and he was trying to hide his face over something. Then he finally had to suffer the reunion with GM. He took it like a man. She climbed onto him when she hit the door and I think production may have had to pull her off to get her to go center stage with the rest of the HGs. We didn't see that but I think it likely happened. Poor Nick.

I'll be here Sunday for the Emmy Awards. I'll try to make it for the next Survivor, but not sure about AR. It's not one that I regularly watch but when I do I enjoy it for all the sightseeing we get to do in cities around the world.

Until Sunday night...

Good morning, Carolyn & Dishy Friends!

I'm not very chipper this AM as I was right there with you watching the interviews Live, Caro. I am sleepworking my way through this Thursday. Hah! :)

GaYToR ~ I've not always agreed with you regarding HGs (and that's ok!), but I agree with you about AFP 1000%!!! I hadn't thought of it in that light, but I think you're right - CBS was letting those of us who are NOT Brenchel Army know that our voices were heard as well and that matters! As for what Elissa is doing with the $?? According to her interview with J-e-Double-F (Hah! LOVED that!) last night, she is opening her "Wellnes Center." No charity donations there. I'm very disappointed in that, but didn't truly expect much more from someone who has shown herself to be very self centered all season.

Personal final assessments: Andy halfway won me back over last night, but not entirely. He's still got to face Elissa, Helen, Amanda, & Candice once they learn of the nasty things he said about them on the feeds. I think there will be some VERY hurt feelings because of the friendships built in the house and I hope he's able to repair them. Still NOT a fan of his style of gameplay, but he DID play and he did it better than anyone else. For that reason alone, he DID deserve to win.

Aaryn really seems to have learned a lot since entering the jury house. Hearing that she & Candice mended fences and that she was open to learning & growing once out of the BB house was encouraging. She's still very young and I absolutely agree with Candice's assessment of her in the Jeff interview: "She's not a racist. She's ignorant."

Candice really struck me as particularly bitchy last night. That "Candyland" crap to Amanda at jury house? WTAF? I'm glad she chose "The Help" for movie night and was happy that she was willing to help show Aaryn about different cultures, but she seemed to be on a high horse about doing so. Maybe that was just my perception, though.

Final Thought: I, too, have said some particularly rude & hateful things about these HGs this year (not here, of course, because I respect our Goddess Caro & you all very much!) and I would NEVER want those things to be aired on National Television! Point is, these people are still regular people who now have to re-assimilate into normal life outside the BB House. That, in itself, is difficult enough as we've heard from many previous HGs. Can you imagine the absolute torture some of them will be forced to deal with from "fans"?? No, I didn't like MANY of their behaviors, words, or bashing of other HGs - please don't ever think I could advocate or excuse some of the hateful, vile, disrespectful things that were said! - but they will be finding out VERY soon that their transition will be much more difficult than they ever could have dreamed. For that alone, they deserve a little human compassion and a dose of forgiveness. I have said a little prayer for each of their healing and strength to get through the upcoming weeks and months.

Caro, God Bless you, Lessa, MM, & Ryder for keeping US up to date all season! Can't wait to be in on the Survivor parties from next week on. For those of you who won't be back until next summer - see you then!!

Dishy Love to ALL of you!!!

Every year I hope against hope that some outlet will ask the hardball questions of the HGs that reviled us the most. There was an interview session on Serius radio this AM at 10:30 that promised to ask the questions that others would not. Apparently, they caved & did not, going for softball inquiries instead.
I heard the convo between Andy & Spencer the last few nights on the feeds. Outrageous, vile, fantasy/ explicit tirades against Elissa & her husband-the likes of which had no basis in justification. Why the bitterness? They were there, she wasn't. AND, she voted FOR Andy!
I see Andy has apologized to Rachel on Twitter today. I know there is intense stress in that house. But, wow. Just wow.
(And I was very vocal about my displeasure w/Elissa getting MVP 3 times. But never would I think HGs would become so obsessed with their hatred of her because of it.)

I am more than ready to say good-bye to this season. I am glad that I stayed up to watch the interviews as well. It really did put a cap on the nastiness of this season. I was so proud of Aaryn and how she handled all the questions. I think she will truly change from this experience. Amanda, not so much. She just didn't own any of what she did or said. Howard was awesome and probably made the best speech ever about how things went down in the house. I am not part of the Brenchel Army but I voted for Elissa for America's Favorite and I loved that she is donating the money. Classy lady! I am thrilled for Andy. He was my choice (whenever I was forced to make a choice) of the most deserving the final three. He did play a good game. My only disappointment is that CBS refuses to take any responsibility for it's part in this season. Thank you very much for writing an awesome blog Carolyn. Best of luck with Survivor and The Amazing Race.

Hello Carolyn and Lessa! It was so nice to hear some last thoughts from you, Lessa :-) While we missed having you around more often, it's totally understandable. I wish you and your family the very best in the future, and good luck with all the wedding plans! I know how time consuming that can be, and it sure can be emotionally draining at times as well. But in the end, it's all worth it and I know when the big day comes, you will be the happiest woman on the face of the Earth <3
Thank you Michigan Man for transcribing the backyard interviews!! I couldn't get the link to load on my phone, so that was an awesome little treat for me! Also, many thanks to you for helping Carolyn throughout the season and keeping us non-livefeeders even more caught up!
After hearing Andy plead his case last night, I have to say, I am glad he won. Before the show, I really didn't care. I wasn't a fan of any of the 3, although I did think Andy was the least guilty of spewing vileness. As I said in another post, I didn't really notice him getting mean & nasty until the last few weeks. And it still didn't come close to the level of ugliness that Spencer & GM reached. But that stuff aside, Andy did play a much better game. It may not have been an agenda that all can respect, but at least he actually played and he did so from day one.
GM & Nick. SMH. Well, while I think GM is in for a heartbreaking reality check in the near future (if it hasn't already happened), the boy was too nice to not let her have the moment she's been waiting for since the minute he walked out of the BB front door. She got to run over & almost tackle the poor kid, and then practically squeeze the life out of him until some crew person probably had to pry her off. And then he respectfully played his role well, probably at least until Freddy wasn't within physical range. Oh GM...I have a feeling you will be spending part of that 50K on a good shrink.
Well, here's to Carolyn and everyone else here at the Dish for another wonderful summer spent together!! Cheers!! My love to you all!!

I thank you, Ms. C for your hard work on this blog.

Here's the speech I wish GM would have given.

"[Puts on glasses and clears throat]. Jury, I am the ultimate under the radar flier. I hid not only in plain sight but blatantly so. I like you Nick but I used your eviction to fake a breakdown in order to not only gain sympathy (and derision) but to demonstrate that I was not serious about playing the game and therefore a not a threat in the early goings when even the slightest misstep (hello, Judd) can lead to the whole house turning on you. When I could I made people not just think I was a dumb blonde but also a stupid racist jerk with horribly bad manners, eating disorders and body habits so you would think that I had no chance of winning the game and hence was not a threat. It was so brilliant that even though I almost won the final HoH, Andy was confident enough to bring me along to the Final 2. Meanwhile, Andy played a mean game in which his deceit hurt others - my deceit only hurt myself. I may have been a liar by making myself out to be an insane, stupid horrible person but he turned people against each other, traded your secrets for his own gain, pulled a horrible trick on Ellisa and, I'm sure, laughed in the diary room at his guile. Jury, Andy may claim he was the master puppeteer but I played the game without having to manipulate you and pull your strings. Obviously I did all the right things because I am here now in front of you. Choose me and I will donate money to fight racism in America in your name. Thank you."

Hi Caroline and fellow dishers,

I realize I may be writing this too late for many to notice, but I feel the need to write to have some closure on this season.

I have more appreciation for Carolyn and this sight than after any previous season.

Personally the house guests did not bother me as much as many of the so called "fans" who posted on Facebook.

I understand the house guests said some horrible, vile things. While I don't agree with some of the house guests actions and remarks; I really don't see why "fans" felt the need to make personal remarks that verbally attacked the house guests.

The worst, most disturbing post was that someone "wanted a bomb to be dropped on the BB house". When I wrote a post objecting to that remark I was told that the person probably was kidding. Sorry but wishing that kind of harm to the house guests will NEVER be funny to me.

I don't think any of us truly knows how we would react if put into the same situation as the house guests. To judge them on their behavior in the house is just wrong.

I hope that some truly did see that racism and other vile behavior can come from unexpected people and places.

In the end I hope we as fans can look back at this season and learn life lessons about seeing the whole person not just the bad parts. And the most important lesson: judge not lest you be judged.

Thank you again Carolyn and I hope to "see" you all again next June.
