Big Brother 13: Now It's Official - CBS Picks Up Big Brother for a 13th Edition
What better news could we ask for on the day of the Big Brother 12 Finale than Official Word that Big Brother has been picked up for the Summer 2011 Season?!
Our policy at BBDish is very Field of Dreams when it comes to BB: If they build it, we will come. :) And so they are, and so we shall.
Here's the press release from the fine folks at CBS publicity:
"BIG BROTHER" TO SIZZLE AGAIN IN SUMMER 2011 - CBS PICKS UP ANOTHER EDITION OF ITS PERENNIAL REALITY HIT
BIG BROTHER, the perennial summer reality hit, will return for its 13th edition next summer on the CBS Television Network.
This summer's 12th edition of BIG BROTHER is posting year-to-year increases, up +5% in viewers (7.64m vs. 7.26m), +4% in adults 18-49 (2.7/09 vs. 2.6/08), +10% in adults 18-34 (2.3/08 vs. 2.1/07) and +3% in adults 25-54 (3.2/09 vs. 3.1/09).
"Big Brother is our summer hero," said Jennifer Bresnan, executive vice president, alternative programming, CBS Entertainment. "Every year, our producers deliver innovative twists and turns, consistently evolving this proven franchise and engaging one of the most loyal and interactive fan bases on television and online."
Online, BIG BROTHER continues to grow with CBS.com seeing a +15% increase in full-episode views compared to a similar period last summer.
The special two-hour finale of this summer's edition of BIG BROTHER, when Lane, Enzo and Hayden will compete for the $500,000 prize, will be broadcast tonight (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) following the premiere of "Survivor: Nicaragua."
BIG BROTHER, hosted by Julie Chen, follows a group of people living together in a house outfitted with over 52 cameras and 95 microphones recording their every move 24 hours a day. Each week, the Houseguests vote someone out of the house. Tonight, the last remaining Houseguest will receive the grand prize of $500,000.
BIG BROTHER 12 is executive produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Allison Grodner and Rich Meehan for Fly on the Wall Entertainment, in association with Endemol U.S.A.

Great news about Season 13...good thing since we have started planning the Vegas trip.

I just read on TMZ that Britney's house burned down in a fire, police are saying it was probably caused by their grill. It was the house her and her fiance lived in.
Apparently he was inside when this happened but escaped unharmed. I shouldn't have said TMZ, her local newspaper is also reporting it.
I really think that 25G's is gonna come in handy now...

Speaking of blows, last night at the Jay-z/Eminem concert at Yankee Stadium, I saw TWO fights in a matter of minutes. Grown men...pay all that money for floor seats and then decide to ruin it. Ohwell! Made a better view for me!

I can not get rid of the feeling in the pit of my stomach that I have for Britney and Nick. I feel terrible! I hope they are both able to enjoy this time together and worry about the petty stuff after.
I voted for Matt, but would not be disappointed if Britney won before or after the house fire. I loved Matt and Britney, but chose Matt b/c Britney won the 10K in the luxury comp.

Why does BB have red squares on the sliding glass door? Could it really be so the HGs know it's a door? I thought it was kind of obvious that it was a door.
