After The Quake

RE-CAP
11:40am BBT
Bathroom

The HGs feel a rumble...
Keesha: Guys that scared me!
Dan: Was that an earthquake?

FISHIES!

Libra: Oh my..

FISHIES
***Earthquake!! Even the fishies were shaking.

Turning on the news, it's all over CNN... Initial reports state it was a 5.8 quake, felt from L.A. down to SD., with the epicenter in Chino Hills - just east of Los Angeles. The shaking lasted from 5-20 seconds.

CUT TO:
11:50am BBT
Feeds are back...
The HGs are still shaken. They say the walls were shaking pretty bad. Since they're living inside a set, not a real house, this isn't at all surprising.

Jerry: I think that just took a year off my life.

They're guessing at the magnitude.

Libra: I never thought I'd experience an earthquake..
April: Me either
Libra: That's something else we've never done..
April: Not something I wanted to experience.
Libra: Oh of course.

April: I'm just worried about our families. If this goes across the nation. "LA had an earthquake" My sister will be like "OH MY GOD"..
Keesha: I'm just worried my family is here going threw it.

Ollie: I thought something like that was normal for out here.
Keesha: No, No..that's not normal..that was hard..I've never experienced something like that in 4 years..It was a big one.

12:10pm BBT
Angie & Dan in kitchen

Angie: Don't be scared Dan..
Dan: I'm very scared..

12:15pm BBT
Outside
Renny, Michelle, April, Keesha, Ollie, Angie

HG's are still talking about the earthquake. They wonder if the quake was big enough to make National news. Jessie and Memphis join. HG's keep talking about the walls shaking. They want their families to know they are ok.

For those who would like to see some screencaps of the earthquake, they're up now on DishCaps

The good news just keeps on coming! TRD's got a new blog and new creations up on TRD-BBDishin'. Go check it out!

12:38pm BBT
Pool
Dan, Renny Ollie

Dan, Renny and Ollie are not letting the earthquake stop them. Dan is giving Renny and Ollie swimming lessons. Very cute! Dan is very gentle with them.

They are really getting the hang of it. Dan is great! He's using a very soothing encouraging voice. Lot's of "good jobs"...

1:01pm BBT
Outside
Angie, Jessie, Michelle, Memphis

Angie: I wonder if our bags are in storage..wanna go pack?
Jessie: *Sigh* No, not right now.
Angie: *Laughs* I'll be drinking a beer tomorrow night.

We can hear a lot of sirens outside.

Angie: Let's make Renny something for her birthday.
Michelle: I wanna make her a margarita party.
Memphis: What are we gonna do make her something out of shoestrings?
Michelle: I asked DR for a margarita party.

1:14pm BBT
Outside

Renny and Ollie are dancing. Ollie is teaching Renny dance moves.

I live in Anaheim and that was pretty scary. I am 3 floors up so I am sure it shakes worse up here, but I am sure on a set they felt it pretty good too. Maybe this will give them something new to talk about :)

I'm working in Chino Hills and this building banged and shock for what felt like 5 minutes. The boxs around my desk starting falling. Man that was something else. My heart is still pounding. I'm in the epic center of the quake and it will rock and roll all day with the after shocks.

Posted this below, but it is more fitting here.

I was sitting here reading the Dish and all of a sudden my kitties started to freak and the whole building shook for about a minute and a half. One sits and wonders... is this the end of the beginning or the beginning of something bigger.

It's nevertheless a free ride, with no damage at this point. Still scary though. Oy. I was here for the big one in '94, and that wasn't fun. :-/

5.4, that's nothin! LOL. I experienced the Northridge earthquake back in 94. Buildings falling, highways collapsing, you name it. I now live in the midwest and would prefer earthquakes over tornados any day.

Just wanted to express my opinions on Jerry. I would never ignore him and would always curb my language around him. (I have a pottymouth too) That is because I was raised that way. I grew up with a lot of grand and great grandparents and genuinely enjoyed their company.

But I don't like Jerry. For a lot of the same reasons people don't like Michelle, Libra, Jessie, etc. He has a foul mouth. He has been rude, disrespectful and a bully. He has used the marine motto all the while not living up to any of the principals of the marines.

Due to my upbringing, I would treat him with respect, but I don't think I could go out of my way to be warm and friendly. My father and grandfather dealt with many an arsehole throughout their lives and had far too much class to act like Jerry has acted.

If I were his wife, daughter or granddaughter I would be cringing with embarrassment right now.

I was in Rancho Cucamonga a few years ago when an earthquake hit and a neighbor was so affraid of quakes that she started to ran out of the house well she tripped and broke her neck.Earthquakes any size is not funny.

I am sure all of you that experienced this today were pretty nervous. I am so glad nothing real serious happened from this & I hope all of you & your familes are all okay. I'm in TX so I have no idea what that must feel like. Glad all is well. I feel for the houseguests not getting information & not being able to talk to their familes. This is a time BB should give them news & assure them all is okay & their familes should be able to find out from CBS folks that all is okay too! Cuz for those of us who have not experienced something of this nature it could be frightening for the families. Truly I think Dan is a sweetheart. I love the pics of him showing them how to swim. Everyone in CA take care!

What's going on in the house today? Why are all of the "plastics" (a la "Mean Girls") dressed and made up like hookers?

I kind of like watching Keesha slather on the makeup, all the while wondering why the boys think Angie is such a "natural" beauty. Lol.

I was away for the long weekend, came back and feel like Keesha, April and Libra are still having the same conversation from last friday.

I remember in 94 going out to California to visit friends a few days after the big quake. we couldn't cancel trip as had been set up for months.I had never experienced an earthquake before but had heard much from family and friends in L.A and San Fran area.
We arrived at LAX around midnight and headed directly to Ramada in Santa Monica. With time change it was about 5:00am EST by the time we hit bed. About 5:30 am Calif time I was violently awakened by noise and vibration. I must have been really out of it and not knowing what was happening I picked up the phone and screamed at front desk that they had a lot of nerve using jackhammers and doing construction at that hour. The desk clerk patiently explained to a still half asleep jet lagged me that I had just experienced an aftershock. My boyfriend slept right through it till I slugged him with a pillow. I was so embarrassed and he of course kidded me about it non stop the entire 3 weeks we were there as well as telling everybody about it. I brought the desk clerk a bottle of wine to apologize. I will never forget it, and still chuckle at the memory.

9/11 was 9 days before the end of BB2, when they were down to 3 HG's - Will, Nicole, and Monica. Not only were they informed about the incident, Monica was told that her cousin was in one of the Twin Towers and was missing. Monica subsequently revealed that her cousin was presumed dead.

I have lived in Calif. all my life and you never get use to them because you have absolutely no warning whats so ever its coming. They are always very scary to me because you never know where they are centered at the time it hits and how bad it really is. The phone lines were all jammed for at least 30 minutes. Not a fun thing here in Southern California
