While we're waiting on the Nomination Ceremony, I thought you might to see a little QnA I did with Chelsia the other day... all about sequester and such...

BBDish Carolyn: While in sequester, what is the situation with phone calls? All the HGs every season seem to think its phone call city once they get to sequester.

BB9 Chelsia: In the BB handbook it says that in sequester each houseguest is allowed one monitored phone call per week…. After being evicted from the BB house my first question was "When do I get to talk to Ceeta??"

The producer I was with informed me that I would not be getting a phone call. So then I asked what day in sequester would we be able to make calls, she told me that we would not be getting any calls from anyone outside of production. The only phone calls we got in sequester were from the therapists! As much as it sucks, I can see why the producers will not allow phone calls, family members could slip up and give something away about the game.

I know if I would have been able to speak with my family they would have somehow let me know about James and his past. I know in the past they have allowed phone calls and they could allow them this season, its just a huge risk allowing the HG's to talk to the outside world.


BBDish-Carolyn: With hurricane Gustav making a pretty direct path toward the Gulf Coast, Renny and her family come to mind. What's the policy about natural disasters when you're a house guest? Is there one that you know of? Would you have wanted to know if there was some natural disaster that affected your family while you were in the house?

BB9-Chelsia - I don't really know about this. I know that if a family member was seriously injured they would let the HG know. As for a hurricane hitting home I really doubt they would let the HG know. My apartment flooded and I didn't find out until I spoke with my mama after the show. Also someone's mother had surgery while we were sequestered and they didn't find out until after the show was over. I think if someone were to pass away they would pull the HG, as for anything else we signed our lives away!!!


BBDish-Carolyn: While in sequester, do the HGs get to watch tv, hear news events, listen to the radio, etc. of any kind? Are there outings (like during all-stars)?



BB9-Chelsia: Haha!! I frickin wish!! In sequester we had a house mom and dad; they would go out and buy us food and get us stuff that we needed. Our house dad had an ipod so that was the only music we were able to listen to. Before moving into the sequester house production came in and unhooked EVERYTHING!

We were left with a TV and DVD player so we were able to rent movies. As for news… we would beg our mom and dad to tell us anything… they wouldn't. And as for all-stars… they were never allowed outings, they snuck out!! Haha! and no we were never allowed outings. They are not kidding when they say we are cut off from the world, we really were!

BB9Dish-Carolyn & TRD: Hi Chelsia. Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us and share your post BB thoughts with our readers here at BB9Dish.

BB9-Chelsia: Anytime!!! You guys ROCK!

BBDish-Carolyn: Thanks, Chels! Tell me, what surprised you most upon getting out of the house? Personally? Politically? It seems they're pushing the political theme with the new season of Big Brother. What are your thoughts on that, too?

BB9-Chelsia: WOW… what surprised me most? I’m gonna go with James and his past. He did tell me some things while in sequester, but I had no idea that it was so big (the porn that is). I have heard that BB10 might incorporate politics in with the game. In watching the interviews, I have noticed that they are pushing politics. I can’t wait to see what the twists will be this season!

BBDish-TRD: We all know you found out about James' porn past. What was going through your mind when you found out? Did he tell you in the sequester house? And, on a side note, when you found out, did that make your romance with me any easier?

BB9-Chelsia: GEEEZ you really know how to ask um! The last week of sequester James did tell me that he had shot a gay porn. He told me that he was so ashamed of it he never wanted me to see it and he didn’t want me to ever bring it up again. After the finale, Parker and Amanda were telling James and I that his porn past was huge and all over the internet. When I first heard this I felt like everything was crashing in on me, I was and still am, very heartbroken that I was lied to. In finding all this out it didn’t change how I felt about James, I was just so heartbroken. James is an amazing person, and we will always share a wonderful bond.

BBDish-Carolyn: Are you and James still in a relationship of any kind?

BB9-Chelsia: James and I will be friends forever! Right now we are not dating. We are still talking and do hangout. Life is really different now, and a full on relationship is something that I’m not ready for. But I do care about James A LOT!

BBDish-Carolyn: It was nice to hear that you and Sheila are on good terms again. How did that come about?

BB9-Chelsia: When I moved to LA, I was actually meeting TRD for lunch, and he asked if “the big She” could join. I totally wanted her to, because I really wanted to speak with her. Lunch that day was wonderful together, because we both had realized that this was just a game. And while in that house your emotions get going and you say things that you don’t really mean. Since that day we have become great friends. Sheila is a very wise woman and I love hanging out with her and even talking with her. We joke all the time that she is… RODE HARD! haha

BBDish-Carolyn: Has your opinion about Amanda and her episode changed since you got out of the house?

BB9-Chelsia: I have not spoken with Amanda since the finale, but I do not have anything bad to say about her. I have watched the episode where Amanda gets sick and it was very scary to watch. I can’t imagine how her mother felt watching and not being able to help her daughter out.

BBDish-Carolyn: What are your aspirations now that the show is over? The shots I've seen from TRD are all stunning... not surprising at all... between his talent and your face.

BB9-Chelsia: I’m living in LA right now having a blast. This city is really fun, but at the same time very difficult. I know I need to go back to school, and I need to study abroad so I have been looking into some different schools, because I really don’t think I want to go back to Iowa at this time in my life.

BBDish-Carolyn: We've been putting together our own BB Bible with commandments such as "thou shalt not blow thy partner, then bible thump the other HGs" or "thou shalt wash thine hands between the jiggling of thine balls and the touching of communal food." May we add a commandment or 2 created by you? :)

BB9-Chelsia: Thou shalt not have a showmance!

BBDish-Carolyn: So sayeth the Chelsia. ;) Given the opportunity to do it all over again in an All-Stars 2 scenario, would you?

BB9-Chelsia: HELL YEAH! But I would play the game a lil different.

BBDish-Carolyn: How so?

BB9-Chelsia: I would not have a showmance!!! and I would keep my mouth shut :)

BBDish-TRD: Are you going to be following the new season? And I heard that you actually know someone in the BB house this season. Can you elaborate?

BB9-Chelsia: I will be following BB10 and I’m worried that I’m going to get sucked in. Jessie is from a small town near my hometown, and yes I actually do know him. I really don’t want to say too much about my thoughts and feelings on him yet, because I want to see how he acts in the house, and see if he can really play the game.

BBDish-TRD: I heard you just came back from Vegas. How was it? How was seeing Sharon, Jacob and Josh again? Anything exciting happen while in Vegas? And don't give me whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!

BB9-Chelsia: Vegas was a blast!!! But sorry… what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas! There was a lot of excitement going on this past weekend. We started at Sharon’s uncle’s house, and he happens to be a female impersonator, so that night was a blast! I will be posting some pics from the trip. And it was so wonderful to see everyone!! I have missed my boy Joshy so much. And hanging with Sharon was a trip! I love Hoops!!! Jacob is always a good time, and Alex is a wonderful man. And even though I see Parker and Sheila here in LA we still had a bangin time together! I have to say that Sunday was a ROOFIE of a time… haha…

Interview with Big Brother 9 Sheila Kennedy

In the first of two exclusive BBDish interviews I'll be posting here today, I offer you Sheila... my first ever shout out on Real. :) For those that saw it, I've now officially changed my name to Catherine. hehe. Incidentally, Sheila will be on Housecalls every Wednesday this coming season. I'm hoping the BB10 HGs will cut me some slack and let me watch a few more episodes than I did during 9.

BBDish-Carolyn: Hi Sheila. :) Thank you so much for making the time to talk with me. What a journey you had in there! We were lucky enough to have a lot of contact with Mick while you were in the house, and we're extremely grateful for that! He's a terrific kid.

BB9-Sheila: Thank you. He is a terrific kid. He did a great job.

BBDish-Carolyn: You caught a lot of flack both inside the house and out for the "I'm a 45 year old single mom" refrain. Can you take a moment and describe for our readers what it was like being in that intense of a situation with absolutely no one to share a common frame of reference? I can't even begin to imagine it... Talk about adding stress to an already insane situation.

BB9-Sheila: It's hard to describe. It really was the hardest thing I've ever done. Playing the game was hard, because I felt that Adam never really gave me anything. He played alone. That's why he won. I needed someone my age... and maybe someone who had a child. I was the Mom of the house but, there was no one there for me. Very frustrating!!

BBDish-Carolyn: For the live feed viewers, it was quite a shock after the first episode aired to find the two of you still in the house (and Sharon and Jacob gone). Are you still in touch now?

BB9-Sheila: No, I'm not in touch with Adam, but thanks to Jacob... He's why we lasted in the game.

BBDish-Carolyn: Have you maintained contact with any of the other houseguests? If so, can you please elaborate a bit? Anyone who might surprise us?

BB9-Sheila: Yes. I'm in touch with Crazy James, Chelsia, Parker and Joshua.

BBDish-Carolyn: Going from final 4 to final 3, how secure did you feel? Would you attribute your position in the final 3 to loyalty... or to the run-through with the wave machine?

BB9-Sheila: I'd attribute it to my loyalty to Adam.

BBDish-Carolyn: Many times throughout the season, you told the other HGs you really didn't know the game, but often made references to past seasons. How familiar were you? Had you watched past seasons? Subscribed to the feeds?

BB9-Sheila: No. I had just seen bits and pieces of season 3,7 (All-Stars) and 8. That's how I knew who Evel and Dr. Will were.

BBDish-Carolyn: If you could turn back time and change any aspect of your game in BB9, what would it be, if anything?

BB9-Sheila: First off, I would have started an alliance with Crazy James. Looking back at the game, I would do things differently. I played with my heart and my gut. It made my game so much harder. I cared for every HG. I wish I would have played more like Dr. Will and not cared as much. It was a game!!! Not a life or death situation. LOL. So, there it is. When you're a mom, you get up everyday and do what you need to do.

BBDish-Carolyn: The pictures TRD took of you with Evel Dick are STUNNING... absolutely gorgeous. Was the shoot a blast? You look like you were having a lot of fun together.

BB9-Sheila: I had great time with Evel! He was really easy to work with, 'cause we have so much chemistry together, and Phil (TRD) is a great photographer.

BBDish-Carolyn: I've heard there's been some post show drama between you and Natalie. What's that about? I listened to an live call-in interview she did, and I was really surprised she's still lying about all the late night activities with Matty.

BB9-Sheila: Yes. She's lying about everything. I tried to send her a nice message but she did not respond well... She said I played a spineless game.

BBDish-Carolyn: Given the opportunity to do it all again in an All-Stars 2 scenario, would you?

BB9-Sheila: Yes, I would... if Dr. Will and Evel were in the house... or a single mom my age. lol.

BBDish-Carolyn: Thanks so much for making the time, Sheila. :) It's great to touch base with you so soon after your season... Usually I give the HGs many months to recuperate before I start the interview process, but this year - no time.

BB9-Sheila: Carolyn, if you need anything, you just let me know.
