While we're waiting on the Nomination Ceremony, I thought you might to see a little QnA I did with Chelsia the other day... all about sequester and such...

BBDish Carolyn: While in sequester, what is the situation with phone calls? All the HGs every season seem to think its phone call city once they get to sequester.
BB9 Chelsia: In the BB handbook it says that in sequester each houseguest is allowed one monitored phone call per week…. After being evicted from the BB house my first question was "When do I get to talk to Ceeta??"
The producer I was with informed me that I would not be getting a phone call. So then I asked what day in sequester would we be able to make calls, she told me that we would not be getting any calls from anyone outside of production. The only phone calls we got in sequester were from the therapists! As much as it sucks, I can see why the producers will not allow phone calls, family members could slip up and give something away about the game.
I know if I would have been able to speak with my family they would have somehow let me know about James and his past. I know in the past they have allowed phone calls and they could allow them this season, its just a huge risk allowing the HG's to talk to the outside world.
BBDish-Carolyn: With hurricane Gustav making a pretty direct path toward the Gulf Coast, Renny and her family come to mind. What's the policy about natural disasters when you're a house guest? Is there one that you know of? Would you have wanted to know if there was some natural disaster that affected your family while you were in the house?
BB9-Chelsia - I don't really know about this. I know that if a family member was seriously injured they would let the HG know. As for a hurricane hitting home I really doubt they would let the HG know. My apartment flooded and I didn't find out until I spoke with my mama after the show. Also someone's mother had surgery while we were sequestered and they didn't find out until after the show was over. I think if someone were to pass away they would pull the HG, as for anything else we signed our lives away!!!
BBDish-Carolyn: While in sequester, do the HGs get to watch tv, hear news events, listen to the radio, etc. of any kind? Are there outings (like during all-stars)?
BB9-Chelsia: Haha!! I frickin wish!! In sequester we had a house mom and dad; they would go out and buy us food and get us stuff that we needed. Our house dad had an ipod so that was the only music we were able to listen to. Before moving into the sequester house production came in and unhooked EVERYTHING!
We were left with a TV and DVD player so we were able to rent movies. As for news… we would beg our mom and dad to tell us anything… they wouldn't. And as for all-stars… they were never allowed outings, they snuck out!! Haha! and no we were never allowed outings. They are not kidding when they say we are cut off from the world, we really were!

I was telling my Sister last night that I cannot believe I watched TV only for 9 seasons. I only found this blog this season & I am absolutely amazed at what I didn't know and how much was involved that you do not see because of the way the show is edited. I had no idea so many blogs existed but I have not always been very computer savvy about what all is out on the internet. I had a pretty slow computer connection forever & just recently upgraded so now I am getting dangerous. hahaha!

Did I miss something or what would Jerry have to use his BB gold bars for? He has slid through this game as a pawn in order to get rid of others. It's called a free ride.
I personally think that they should have ousted Jerry last night instead of Ollie. One thing the fab 4 overlooked was Jerrys mental strength. Unless there is another endurance comp for a POV, Jerry can take this to the end.
Another point, If any of them go to the F2 with Jerry or Renny, they can only hope for 2nd place. No doubt that Jerry and Renny both know this. This is why Renny doesn't want F2 with Jerry standing next to her and Jerry has no problem with Memphis standing next to him. Renny has played the "sweet mom" to everyone and will hands down get the votes (especially from the catty women and ollie). Renny knows she would take first place next to Keesha, Memphis or Dan in jury votes. She knows it could go the other way with Jerry.

Thanks for the interview Carolyn and Chelsia. That was very enlightening. We've always been led to believe the phone calls to home were a given thing. Guess it makes sense though.
Yes I am still here. The City is still making plans for evacuations as Gustav is still hanging down below Cuba. It's getting more and more difficult to decide to pack up and leave. Part of me wants to get the hell outta Dodge and part of me wants to stay here and protect my property/ I just don't know yet. Besides this is the biggest money making weekend of the year, but then again what good is money if I'm not alive to spend it? It's a conundrum.
I saw Triva when I turned off RP so I could go to WinAmp with no bleeding over from the feeds. I guess the noms are going on but I don't expect any surprises. *sigh*
someone, I think Noni, asked that the moratorium on water balloons be lifted. As if I am in control of any of you or your actions :p~ .
As long as no one hits me, go at it each other. Please, I have makeup to put on, and not all of it is waterproof. *giggle*

I'm glad the ratings are good. I don't really pay attention to that stuff. I was just trying to figure out why they have been so fish happy this year.
Do you think the ratings are good enough for another winter season. I know that's just wishful thinking. But a girl can dream. However, two seasons really messed with my sleep, my housework and...well pretty much my whole life. My family can hardly deal with one season per year-not because they watch it, just because I do.
Imagine that going to my other job (grocery store) where I can't sit around on the computer half of the time. (Librarian rocks!) I guess I will see noms results in a few hours!

I never thought I would utter these words but I'm hoping Renny is the one to go this week. Sorry to all the Renny lovers out there but to read that she even turned on Keesha to the "Colonel" no less on the drop of a dime is amazing to me. And yes I totally get this is a game and since its the end that u have to do what u have to do but darn I thought she would at least wait til after the nominations!

Funny but you just wrote everything I am feeling. I haven't looked at the feeds all day because I cannot take Jerry's phony niceness. And I am ready to say good bye to Renny as she is turning out to be just as phony as he is, and that is one characteristic in a person I cannot tolerate.
BTW, *I* would be HORRIBLE at this game...........I would be voted out first I bet if I were there. lol

Unknown Caller - regarding James' past: he has done some things that parents would not approve of - including yours. Aren't you in middle school?

Are you allowed books in sequester? I am an avid reader however I have been on the same book since this season started in July. Just can't tear myself away from this site and the feeds.

You are right... the ratings haven't been great the past week or so... even behind a repeat of House and AGT. But since BB is a business venture between Real/Showtime and CBS and the fact it doesn't cost that much may keep it around even with ratings down. It's not like they spend lots of $$$ on Sequester. In season's past, they sent the evicted HGs to Mexico, but this ended with All Stars due to Hurricanes and they ended up outside Palm Springs. Dr Will and some others snuck out to local restaurants to get away. They were scolded. ;-)
Also, this season isn't that much shorter... last year it ended Sep 18 and the year before Sep 12. Big difference is the week later start.
I don't agree with production not telling Renny about Gustav. It's very puzzling to me when the our state goverment is telling us we have to leave, how could this not affect Renny and her family. I know her children are grown, but lives are at stake in a situation like this. I want to see Renny win this so I would hate to see her "pulled" from the show to deal with the hurricane. I hope fellow readers affected by this hurricane survive and their families are safe! Again many thanks Carolyn for the great updates and time spent dishin'!
