Big Brother 10 To Bring Back America's Player
BB10 is bringing back the America's Player concept tonight, with a twist: We get to vote for who America's Player will be. We know from past experience how much this particular twist can mess with an HG, so we've got to choose wisely.
Do we go for someone we like, who we think can pull it off, like Renny or Dan? Or do we intentionally choose someone we're not so crazy about, knowing it'll bring them under scrutiny, but at the same time rewarding them with money?
Tough decision.
Either way, one thing is certain, it's gonna be fun watching it play out on the live feeds!

Viewers To Vote For The Houseguest Who Will Be Offered The Chance To Do America's Bidding For One Week And Win Up To $20,000
July 29, 2008 - BIG BROTHER 10 will bring back the popular America's Player segment that debuted in "Big Brother 8," in which viewers will have the opportunity to vote to decide which current Houseguest will be given the chance to be the new America's Player on Tuesday, July 29 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT).
The Houseguest with the most votes will be offered the chance to become America's Player for one week. If they accept, they will do America's bidding and will have the opportunity to win a total of $20,000. They will be asked to make moves that are both personal and strategic, from getting certain Houseguests nominated for eviction to convincing their fellow Houseguests to vote for who America wants out of the house.
Most importantly, they can never tell anyone in the house that they are working on behalf of viewers and they need to be careful... because, just like their fellow Houseguests, they can be voted out at any time. Viewers will be able to vote on cbs.com or via text messaging from their mobile phone.
BIG BROTHER 10 is broadcast three nights weekly, on Sundays (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT), Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) and the live eviction show, hosted by Julie Chen, Thursdays (8:00-9:00 PM, live ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network.
OK.. so the question is, who do we want? And do we want to gift someone or mess with someone?

IMO, this twist was brought alittle too late. And wtf "the twist this year is there are no twists." Ag, you such as a producer, just admit fan faves got evicted, this season sucks, and then announce this twist. Don't lie to viewers AGAIN.
I'm trying to figure out who is the least persuasive... it should be someone from the "7" alliance.
Maybe Dan. It would certainly step up his game and make him more interesting. Or Renny. Either one would be forced to have to play the game.
I think Renny could be the most interesting and it would be nice to see her win some money.
Libra: NO. Keesha/April/Ollie: NO. Jerry--no one would listen to him and it would just be sad.
I say we pick Jessie, then vote to have him convince the other HG's to nominate him for eviction!

All that does is screw up one persons strategy and takes them out of his/her game. Let each player play their game and if they want to put mustard on someone's pillow for fun, then they should without having to be prompted or tempted w/ cash.
Hopefully it won't be Ollie cause April has no reservations about any type of fluid anywhere in the house or on her body.
This is a tough one. I think it would be hilarious to watch Renny do some of the things Eric had to do but she is on the fence already with her alliance and I don't want to tip the scales. I'll have to think about it =)

I am gonna pick Dan. He seems like he could persuade people to do things. He has already gained majority of the house's respect so he can do it. I also thinking Ollie might be a good choice. Everyone likes him and he is respected.
I don't think we should chose anyone that has a chance of getting voted out soon.

Hmmm - I think either Keesha, so we can force her to vote out someone she gave her word to (LOL) or Michelle to go against her alliance. If Angie's still in the house, I'd love for it to be her, so she'd be forced into playing some game. Renny would be funny, too, though because she'd freak out.

I think it should be someone we can mess with. How about....Manchelle! America could make her mess with Jessie if he doesn't go home or kiss up to some of the hgs she doesn't like. Could you see if they made her climb in bed with Ollie(oooh, cat fight) or push for a Jessie eviction? No F-bombs for a week to win the 20k (she'd never be able to do it)
My o my what will America do? Gosh what will I do? I think Ollie would do us good out here, just my first thoughts. Then again Renny would rock at that job for us also...
Renny!! She will do anything and with style,funny and she doesn't care what anyone thinks. It will be the zaniest week ever. If she gets it no one would ever guess they would just think it is crazy Renny.

I agree that it's a last minute ploy by CBS to help sagging ratings, but I can't help but hope that the producers develop a babillion more twists to make the season more interesting.

Memphis could do it if he didn't have a target on his back already. The 7 want him out as well... i don't see him being able to go up to Jerry and make nice to him and for Jerry to believe what he says. No money in the world would make him do that. So i am not going with Memphis on this one even though he would be good at it.
Keesha won't do it cause "her word" means a lot to her. She couldn't live with herself if she did go back on her word. lol

I would like to see Libra as America's Player! She has absolutely no chance at winning the big bucks, so it would be nice to see her get a little bit of money to make leaving her young family worth something.
We need to get Angie to play for America! Would that mean she would not go home on Thursday? Plus, then we caould actually see her play the game, even if it was as a proxy.

I think I wanna mess with someone. Because being America's player, i think, was in some ways Eric's down fall in BB8. So I say lets mess with Libra, Jessie or Michelle.
I hope none of my favorites are chosen. Being America's Player ruined Eric's chances of winning if you ask me. I didn't really care for Eric but I really do think he could have won or come close to winning if not for that twist.
I think APG just promised that no one knew each other previous to the show. I remember seeing her give an interview where she said there would still be surprises/twists.
From the article it seems that whoever America picks has to accept to do the dirty deed of being America's player.
I wonder who WOULD NOT accept.
My vote is for Ollie, simply because it would be very hard for him to keep it from April.

On second thought - Jessie is not smart enough to carry any of the tasks out. It would be hilarious to watch him attempt to change his game.

sc1432 -- I think any of the players who are very familiar with the game, and Season 8 in particular, would turn it down. Unless they already don't see themselves winning and just want another shot at some $$ (Memphis, Libra, Ollie, for example).
I vote for Libra. That way, we make her do whatever we want (much to her displeasure). Plus, it pretty much ensures that fan faves don't get booted out.
Also, and I really like this one, it will probably save Angie from eviction.

I think this is bad for CBS to bring this in now. Renny would be a good choice cuz they think she is crazy so for her to do something weird would not be too out of place. She doesn't beleive in herself to win anything so this would give her a good chance to win some $$$$. But, they have discussed she could be a twist. Dan, would be good too but, again, they have discussed him being a twist too. The person that really should be chosen is Jessie because it is going to mess up someone's game & he is the only one I want to have their game messed up but I do not want him to win any money either or have to listen to him all the time in the Diary Room thinking America just loves him because we chose him. Just don't know! Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!
Also, I wanted to add the idea of Jessie being it & getting him to convince the other HG to vote him out would be priceless.

I think Jessie would be great. He would get so upset and flustered and that would just allow me more time to laugh at him. I know, we could vote that he couldn't look in a mirror or flex for a whole week!! That would really get him all upset!! =)
I think it should be one of the 7 because they have more influence with the majority of the house. I say Dan or Ollie. I think Ollie will have more pull being he is in the original 3 plus it will make him step up and play the game. He's been laying pretty low this entire game!!

I do like this cast alot better than season 9. I am so excited that they are bringing back Americas player. Being from Michigan, Dan is a tempting choice for me but there are so many fun options. Hmmm, whom to choose!!!
You have to remember it says we vote and "if" the chosen accepts to play AP. The person may not want to take it knowing about Eric.
Also I really still do not believe Eric would have gone any further, he could never have done well with the physical challenges for the final 2.

I think Jessie should be America's player. Even though it would irritate me to no end if he actually succeeded and won the money and then have to watch his ego grow more than it already is. First I have to say I love this!!!! I love that it is a twist that has to do with the game that involves America. We finally have the opportunity to get involved in the game again. This is a good thing!!!
I really don't think being America's player for 1 week will mess up their game play. I also think it would be really neat if they did this on a weekly bases where we can vote each week who we want to be America's player. I also think that it will add paranoia to the house because whoever is selected to be America's player is going to wonder if someone else is the following week even if they don't do it on a weekly bases.

OK - So lots and lots of people are voting for Libra - she cares about money too much and will think we all voted for her cause we all like her (NOT) but in reality we get to screw up her game...
First - we make her a liar to her alliance and they won't trust her again
Second - If she s=chooses not to go ahead with "Our" wishes she doesn't get the money
Third - Libra can't keep her mouth shut - once someone calls her on something she may just blab and lose any chance of making money

The more I am thinking about this I don't think it would be a very good idea to vote for someone who's game play I am liking. Instead I am thinking the opposite and vote for someone who's game play I am not liking. This gives the opportunity to change the way they are playing the game.
I think if we voted Keesha as America's player we would most likely get Jessie out because she would be able to tell the rest of her alliance that it is ok with her to vote him out and he would be gone. Then Angie would stay!!! I also think that America could potentially make Keesha go against her alliance in the up coming week, but wonder how long that would last with her and if Keesha would go back on her word for $20 000.
Then again I would like to vote for someone who can participate in HOH with the hopes that America's player could be HOH. In that case it may be better to vote for someone like Libra, April or Ollie for America's player and then we could tell them what we want them to do!

Plus, I would love to see these girls broken up. Of course the drama is only going to happen if Keesha has to turn against April or Libra.

I say Dan all the way he can be a great mole and even looks like eric. He is the only one who comes in the diary room and actually makes us crack up the others are phonies. If not him then Renny. But Dan for sure.
I think Renny would be a good choice. She's a lil off beat anyway, so I don't think the other house guests would suspect anything. Plus, I think people actually do listen to her and even though she's aligned with the 7 she gets along with the other side.
Also, there are so many other people making themselves targets that I think she'll get pretty far in the game. Even when ppl know your a floater it seems you get away with it because other people become threats.
