Julie Chen ENDS the Rewind Mystery - Updated due to Chenbot Malfunction
JULIE CHEN: Basically if the rewind button gets pushed, the two nominees next week come off the block and we immediately rewind the game one week. That means all house guests play for HOH all over again…. So there could likely be a new HOH, two new nominees, a new POV winner and then who knows who gets bounced from the house next.
UPDATE: Julie sent the following update for clarification on this point: "To clarify: All the Houseguests, who competed last night, will play for HOH all over again. Sorry for any confusion. Chenbot malfunction. What the bleep #%€?¥!?”
So, as of right now, barring any more clarifications, Derrick will NOT be able to compete for HoH come Wednesday Night.

So--to clarify--does that mean we have the EXACT same comps played, only over again (this time, HOH comp including Derrick)? That's what "rewind" would imply to me, instead of all new comps. So essentially, the four who originally played in the current HOH (that Frankie won) would have the upperhand over Derrick, since they've already played? Right?
I know it's all more or less speculation until we see it play out on Wednesday. (Incidentally, Carolyn, do you think it will all play out live on Wednesday's show, DE stye?) I gu-ESS this twist has the potential to be less of a snoozefest than I originally thought... hm.

Thanks for all the good info. Interestingly, Julie still doesn't clarify exactly when the next eviction will take place. She says, "...and then who knows who gets bounced from the house next." But is said bouncing on Wed, Sep 10? Or is she implying that it will not occur until Wed, Sep 17?
Two weeks with the same house guests and a button that has already been pushed may turn out to be more boring than one week and a pegged eviction. I think it all depends upon the outcome of the competitions at the rewind.

She says "everyone gets to play for HOH again" but Derrick didn't get to play for the 2nd one. Do you think he will be allowed in the reset?
I'm still confused. The Updated article JC said the all House Guests that competed for HOH would do so again in the rewind which would mean poor Derrick would watch again and not compete. I hope they change their minds and let ALL the HG's including Derrick compete, but I can see the logic in not letting him do so.

But I heard all houseguest but Derrick that she clarified it again saying not Derrick because he was previously Hoh
