Big Brother 12: Thursday Night After the Comp
Oh the tangled web we weave... It's going to be a very different week on the live feeds and in the Big Brother 12 House.
Not so hapless after all in the wake of Rachel's departure, Brendon solidly won the comp, and for his first act as HoH, he has chosen 3 Have Nots. Can ya guess? Sure ya can.
Have Nots: Britney, Ragan and Matt.
Enzo, Lane and Hayden are already whispering around the house. As far as Enzo and Lane are concerned, their plan for the week was to send Ragan or Britney packing anyway. Lane wasn't quite on the same page. He may have to be now, unless Matt chooses to reveal his lie about Pandora's Box to his fellow Brigade members, thereby potentially losing their trust.
What will these HGs get into tonight? Will Britney & Ragan make the trek up to view Brendon's HoH Room? Will either of them "lower" themselves to pleading for their lives in the game? Will they turn against each other?
I can't wait to see it all unfold on the live feeds this week. Just. Can't. Wait.

Matt enters the bathroom... He wants confirmation that no matter what, Brendon is out next week. Enzo gives it to him. But this week, Britney or Ragan.
Enzo: You think Britney's in there kissing his ass?
Matt: No. And all 3 of you? If I'm on the block, I'm ok?
Enzo: Of course. What's wrong with you?
Matt: The Saboteur.. I'm just nervous. The worst part is the slop...
Enzo: Britney or Ragan. I want one of them going home. It all depends who wins the PoV.
Kathy enters. End of game talk.
Matt: I thought one of the 3 of you (Lane, Kathy, Britney) woulda had it. A little hog tyin'

Everyone's having a turn at the showers, but there's more than a wee clog. After dealing with that, the HGs start chatting about the comp. It was another tough one. Scraped knees and such.

Britney: The hardest part for me is swallowing my pride, and seeing other people who are supposed to be my friends, be nice to him, after the way he treated me.

Matt: I definitely think it was a sh*thead move, when there's 2 people out there who've never been Have Nots.
Britney: MM hm. I agree.
Matt: That was really bad.
BB: Hayden to DR.
7:24pm BBT - The room falls silent, but for BB telling Enzo to exchange his mic with one in the Storage Room... 2 minutes later, Ragan starts talking, but fresh from the shower, he's not wearing his mic yet.
Ragan: This sucks, because of the odds of one of us going home... I want you both to know that I value you.
Britney: You too.
Ragan: (crying) Out of everyone here, I really do think that we'll be friends forever.
Britney: I do too.
Ragan: I'm stupid to cry for this. It's just Big Brother. Honestly, I'm honored to be in the Have Not room for the reasons we're in it.
Matt: It ain't over.
Enzo Enters.
Matt: You miss this place?
Enzo: No. I was in here 3 times. This is your 3rd time too, right?
Ragan: Yeah.
Talk turns to the comp and how tough it was.
Britney: He told me on national television that my fiance was having sex with other women.
Matt: My relationship with him is unchanged. I'll be exactly as I was with him last week.
Back to how tough the comp was...
Ragan: I melted down at least 15 times. Like, in one of my meltdowns, I could hear the people laughing... (referring to the Have Not Room, Ragan is suddenly Yoda again) This is in many ways where it all began.
Britney: This just sucks. I wanted him to be so miserable this week. Her gone and him miserable. And now everyone's gonna be hangin' out with him and laughing. Friggin' disgusting. At least when you're a have not, you're really tired... He had all the bad karma in the world coming to him, and then...
Britney: Let's just hope that the one good thing out of all of this is that Rachel was the Sab.

Nothing has been set in stone, spnshacres, but logically speaking the veto is just a symbol of Matt's power. Just like with regular veto someone can't just take it. If someone found it they could tell the whole house but the power is most likely his and only his to use.
Congrats, Brendon. You earned yourself... one week. That's about it. Even if you did the unthinkable and had two Brigade members on the block a week from now Matt could still take one off and the three remaining Brigaders control the five total votes so really they're the ones in power this week even if at this point Matt's the only one who knows it.
It would suck to lose Britney or especially Ragan this week but I'm willing to accept it.
In a perfect world, Matt puts up Kathy on Thursday and they vote her out but I doubt it since the Brigade sees Britney and Ragan as strong players. They'd feel so much safer if only one was around.

Poor Britney and Ragan, they deserve to be put on the block because of their behavior but I think their fear of Brendon is real as he is a control freak and a bully and loves to pick on people smaller than him.

The Brigade made it look good for Brendon's sake but They discussed letting him win to get Brit or Reagan out, Lane, I think was not privy to this line of thinking and therefore did give the comp his best. I'm not happy/sad about this HOH but, this season is being really predictable, even with AGP's "Twists" and "Sabatoge" I call it "REDONKULOUS"!!!!

I think no one knows for SURE because the only other time a diamond veto has been in the game it was won in a NORMAL veto comp so it was won just like any other golden veto... and as we know, no HG can steal a golden veto. My guess is that it is the same for a diamond veto... the only difference being the power to decide the renom.
My GUESS would be that the power is his and finding it would only allow the HG to call him out on having it.

I do not believe Matt will use the DPOV, based on his HOH blog unless he really and truly feels his brigade will not back him, or if he is up against another of them.
i almost got got by a new post :) I think by reading matts HoH blog even if he is on the block he wont use the DPOV because when the house realizes that they are wrong and Rachel wasnt the sab. that they may suspect him and he knows he has the numbers not to leave anyway. at least that was my opinion on what he said in his blog

I hope people do not take this wrong (because clearly I was no fan of Brendon and Rachel) but I am SO glad Rachel is gone.
I think Brendon will finally start playing the game, and not just isolating himself in whatever room with Rachel. I am no fan of showmances and find that the two parties tend to just focus so much on each other that they lose sight of the big picture. (Like Dani/Nick or April/Ollie from past seasons.)
Once the other partner in a showmance leaves it helps the other player reintegrate into the house and start to play the game again.
Plus - it gets just plain nauseating and gross to watch after a while.

We all need to tweet AGP and recommend that America votes on whether or not Ragan did a good job as saboteur and we decide if he gets the money or not. Basically he has committed NO ACTS of sabotage and has NO RISK of getting caught... just lies over the intercom that don't really do ANYTHING at all. At least Annie had to do the lock in the dark and risk getting caught... Ragan is doing NOTHING! This is the WORST twist ever...

I'm proud of Ragan, Brit and Matt. Look at them taking the high road, speaking of their friendship and honour to be together, rather than bashing Bren and complaining that the competition was unfair. They even complimented Bren's efforts. When Bren and Rach were in this position, they certainly did not take this same road. At one's lowest point, it shows their true character, and we are now able to see that Ragan/Brit/Matt are the 'better' people.

I have been around... I have mostly been commenting early in the morning. Honestly, I haven't commented much the past couple days because it was basically the whole house being awful about Brendon and Rachel... Rachel knew she was going home despite what Brendon was trying to do for her and there really wasn't game play/strategy happening for the most part so there wasn't a lot to comment about!
But I was here reading comments and making some of my own if I had something on my mind!

I agree, Judy. There's only two scenarios I can see playing out (neither of which are likely) in which Matt would want to use the veto.
1) After the veto ceremony two Brigade members on the block. It'd most likely be Matt and Lane. He would have to use it.
2) Ragan is on the block with a Brigade member (again, most likely Matt) and Matt decides that he wants Ragan to stay as a backup alliance. But even that would make the Brigade trust him less.
Heck, more than anything I think Matt just wants to keep the veto as a souvenir. BLING! BLING! :)

Julie tells them they have 5 minutes to decide as a house whether or not it will be opened. The prize is a 5 minute visit with a loved one for every member of the house in the diary room. I don't think there is ANY way they wouldn't open...
Then they open it and Rachel comes out as the new HOH! :-) Talk about a REALLY good thing and a REALLY bad thing for the house! hahahaha
The have not room is a long way from the jury house.

Brendon puts up Ragan and Brit, for purely personal reasons just like Rachel did to others, he leaves in the strong players and he gets got next week.
I hope at some point this week Brendon gets a clue and maybe start to play the game. I doubt it though.

The DPOV has raised a lot of questions in the community. One of the most critical is the fact that it was given to Matt. And the fact that not everyone had a chance to get it. Rachel wasnt able to play for HOH and therefore not able to get it.
Also Janelle brought up an interesting criticism yesterday when she had the sudden brain flash that BB had allowed Matt's wife to "play in the game". In her letter she was able to support his lie. And as Janelle complained, that was totally unfair.
Both Chelsia and Janelle feel that none of the HG's will ever speak to him after the season when they discover the lie, and if they vote for him in F2 to win the money to aid with the medical bills.
Tonight's Drinking Game: Take a drink everytime Enzo mentions how he hates this HOH comp the most/this was the worst comp ever

I hope Matt uses the DPoV too... either way... it will be Ragan or Britney leaving because he won't put up one of the Bragades. And if he puts up Kathy... Brit or Rag will still leave.

Every season I hit a point of thinking that it is an annoying season but this year is driving me crazy! I was hoping two bridage members would be going up this week to break it up, or at least out the alliance, but alas, brendon won. :(
Plus, I tired of the "house" votes. When are people going to vote how they want? people may call kathy a floater but at least she doesn't always vote with the house. Everyone in the house seems to be a floater since there aren't many alliances..Ragan, Brit, Kathy and now Brendon aren't in alliances.
I was hoping brit would be safe, but it looks like she is in danger this week :( She may bash other hgs but I think being with people you don't like 24-7 causes you to go a little crazy and hate on them more than you would if you had a break from them.
If Ragan goes it just makes the saboteur an even lamer twist.
Mattitude: I do tend to agree with you that Matt won't use it unless its 2 brigade people on the block... but honestly, even then, there is a chance he wouldn't use it.
1. If he isn't one of them, this is an opportunity to get one of them out withot blood on his hands later in the game... this may be the only chance for him to do so as it is rather obvious that Lane will take Enzo to the final 2, Hayden will take Enzo, Enzo will take Hayden... see the picture? No one is gonna take Matt because they know they can't beat him. I still think its unlikely, but he is a smart player and I think he would at least cnsider it.
2. If he IS on the block, Matt is SOOOO cocky that I think he would use the reasoning in number 1 but also reach the conclusion that he will be safe because he thinks the Brigade thinks of him as the "brains" of the operation and won't get rid of him yet. Ohhhhh the look on his face if he got evicted this week and didn't use the DPOV... he will overtake Marcellas' "dumbest move in BB history" slot!

My Dream Week: Brendon puts up Matt and Ragan, figuring this ensures the least possible chance of Britney playing in the PoV. Britney (the veto queen) gets picked, wins and takes Ragan off.
Matt is up against replacement nominee Lane. On eviction night, Matt takes himself off and puts Kathy up as his own replacement.
Britney, Matt, Ragan, Enzo and Hayden vote to save Lane.
Kathy goes to the jury house and tells Rachel that Brendon won and she's the resulting evicted houseguest. I think Rachel would absolutely flip if, of ALL people, he did nothing but get Kathy out.
Karma is a real downer and can really bite ya'all hard Britney, Ragan and Matt...suck it up!! Great to see them knocked off their high horse. I'm all for playing the game, but the spewing venom was over the top and for that reason, I am happy that Brendon won HOH. Sure Rachel was sort of out there, but how much fun would this be if they were all clones?
ok, so I am not happy Brendon won, but not sad ,really, either. Just going to be another week of *itching and moaning. I doubt Ragan and Brit will kiss Brendon's butt. They will just complain to each other. Matt knows he is safe and the brigade has the votes. I am glad Brendon didn't put Kathy as a have not-she needs to eat some real food. My dislike of Rachel was mostly based on the way she played the game. Her double standard of 'treat me with respect but don't expect the same' and 'it's only personal if you do it to me, it's game if I do it to you.' Outside of the game, Rachel would probably not be my cup of tea, but I don't think I would hate her. I could be friendly with her but probably not friends.
My dislike of Brendon is because of the person he has shown himself to be in non-game talks. He seems to be very concerned about projecting a certain image. Well spoken, educated, genuine and kind. I believe he honestly does see himself as that person. I don't think he deliberately sets out to hurt people in his life outside this house.
The problem is, he has shown himself to be opinionated, close minded and judgemental. When he expresses his opinions he states them as facts. The problem with that is that anyone with a cheap dictionary can see that an opinion and a fact are two different things.
Not everyone lucky enough to be born into money is spoiled and selfish. Not everyone in their 20s is immature. Not everyone who is in a sorority is a slut. Not everyone who did not have the benefit of higher education is lazy or stupid.
Brendon is so sure that his opinions are right that he is not willing to consider the chance that he could be wrong or even that what is right for him may not be right for someone else. He may feel that he is making an educated statement. To the person on the other end it can be incredibly frustrating and extremely hurtful.
High Horse:
Did you hear Brittney saying she wanted to see Brendon miserable, that does not seem like the high road to me. Everyone in the game has said negative things, but to me, there is nothing about Brittney that I find endearing.

I would marry Brendon in a minute! He's so domesticated no matter what anyone says about him. He cooks, he consoles, and at this very minute here is the evidence that he cleans. He would definitely try to change me because I am a slob when it comes to cleaning. But that would be a good change. I still don't think he is all that bad. I know everyone hates him but what he does try to change, he tries to do it to bring out the good in people.
Does he do it maliciously? No. Is he delusional? Yes. But his heart's in the right place.

I don't think there is a clear answer on when the DPOV can be used... the analogy to the only other time it has been given in this game isn't comparable enough to say what will happen here...
The only other time it was used was in the final 4. The final 4 eviction is done live and thus the veto ceremony and eviction occur at the same time... so that doesn't help answer the question of when it can be used...
As far as being able to steal it... I would hope that it would work like any other veto... or at least I would think that is how it would work (I HOPE that it can be stolen and Brendon gets his hands on it). But again, the last time it was given it was EARNED and not freely handed over... so we can't learn from the past here...
My guess would be that it is exactly like any other veto, just with the additional power of naming the new nomination...

just thought of something. what if Ragan gets evicted and then the house will be told he was the sab? will they think all the bashing of Rachel and Brendon was just part of that? I also think if Brendon nominates Britney, there is a good chance she would win the POV and take herself off. She will be trying really hard for it. If she does, would Brendon put up Matt or Kathy? I dont see him putting up another Brigade member because he thinks Enzo and Hayden are with him and I assume they will continue the charade all week.
Matt looks a little worried. Even though he is safe next week with his DPOV, I am sure he doesn't want to have to use it so is worried about not going on the block.
Ragan and Britney will be joined at the hip all week so Matt will lose his shadow as well, lol.

I don't think Brit is forgetting how hateful she was last week, I think she thinks she has a right to be that way! I think when she says stuff she feels justified in saying it! Like she is on some pedestal and anything she does is ok b/c she is queen and everybody is beneath her! I would say that she probably has had something bad to say about everybody in her life! She just reminds me of one of them types!
I think Brendon is also mean to! The things he said about Brit's b/friend was uncalled for! But, I also think Brendon sometime feels bad for the things he does. That is why he will cook for them still, or help Kathy make slop or ice tea! I don't know! Just my feelings.
I think Ragen feels bullied and was the out cast at school, and he now feels like he is liked! He feels accepted with Brit and that is why he jumped on this hateful band wagon. I don't believe that Ragen is like this in real life! I think that he would chose to walk away from somebody and forget them, then spew hatred out of his mouth! But, since Brit is their encouraging it he thinks he is standing up for him self, and all the years of bulling he dealt with!
Could be so wrong on this! But, I honestly don't think that Ragen or Brendon are this mean out side BB! Brit though she has mastered the art of back stabbing her "friends"! I want to see how fast she turns on Ragen!

Divr, I don't really agree. Matt's wife's letter was only relevant to her "illness" because Matt made it so. Nothing she said specifically supported it. If another person got the exact same letter it would have been fine. I think it was fair game.
I also don't think many of the hg's will be pissed at Matt. His lie may be offensive, but that's a judgment call. A lie is a lie and they have all told them.
As for the DPOV, there is a lot of luck in this game. It was Matt's luck. That's no more or less fair than any other lucky thing that happens, IMO.
I agree with you GaYToR: Brendon is not mean on purpose, he is blinded by his "love" for Rachel. just hope he isn't being played by her. If by some sheer chance he wins this thing(which I doubt) I hope he doesn't have some big idea of proposing on the finale. Or worse, telling her she could have the $$ because she "deserves it" doesnt he think he is deserving of it,too? I think that is why I dislike him so much.
Yup, Therese, I heard it. Brit also said there's nothing she could've done better in the comp, and that Bren did a good job. That's endearing to me. It doesn't make her personal insults any better.
Re: the DPOV someone asked how long Matt has to use it. I thought that when he read the card when he got it the card said that he had to use it either during tonights eviction or next weeks. I could be wrong though. It certainly wouldn't be the first time...lol

I think if Brendon was close minded and judgmental, I think he wouldn't have gone for Rachel. He said he fell for her because of her heart. He had to see past the "Vegas" to see her heart.
I think it is hard to really know who people are by watching them in this game, even as much as I can't stand Brittney, and my perception of her is that she is a nasty person. However, I think I would be foolish to think that my perception comes close to matching up with reality - given this is the only context I am able to see her in.

@Barbara: You and I are definitely on the same page tonight about everything. Matt is TERRIFIED of having to use the DPOV because of the consequences it will have later in the game...
Last week he was very excited because it assured him safety the week after he was HOH... but now that it is a very real possibility that he may have to use it, he is seeing how big of a double edged sword this veto is... especially since he has already lied and hidden it... HOWEVER he could lie and just say that part of getting it was not being able to reveal that you had it (much like the coup d'etat).

Maciemay, your take on Ragan is exactly the same as mine so I'm guessing it's a general consensus sort of thing. I suspect he has a bit of a chameleon personality and adapts to what/whom ever makes him feel safe. I do think that Britney is this two faced and hides it this well in real life, it comes so naturally to her and it just feels like her real self. Her out of game friends should be worried by now about what she says when their backs are turned.
Also interesting, albeit maybe only to me, this is the only chat I know of where a wall of text is read and responded to as opposed to ignored as just an airbag hehe
High Horse - I guess it is just preference, and Brittney just rubs me the wrong way. There have been moments where I found her amusing, but they have been few and far between.

Forgive me I've gotten a little behind on comments. I'm sorry if others feel that commenters have lowered their level of interaction to match that of some of the houseguests. In particular if you have found any of my comments to have been distasteful, I apologize.
However, I must state that the houseguest should remember that old saying, "When you point your finger, there are three more pointing back at you."
I honestly don't think a girl like Rachel would normally go for a guy like Brendon. I think he fell into 'infatuation' with her because she is so different from any girl he's ever been involved with.
The more they clung to each other and became targets for everyone else, the more they had to rely on each other.
He already has tried to control and change her and has also made it quite obvious that his parents would not approve. Once the infatuation wears off, I give their relationship about one hot minute.
I could be wrong as I am only stating my opinion. If they show up next year looking like Jeff and Jordan, then I'll believe it's real and that Brendon really does love her just the way she is.

Matt couldn't tell anyone he had the DPOV so that would not be a lie.
I am not really a huge fan of anyone this season...not like seasons past. I did find myself rooting for Rachel and Brendon, but I think it was just the underdog factor, cause her personality grated on my nerves, and he was just super kitty-whipped, and that was a turn off. I like the thought of the Brigade getting final 4, because it shows a formed alliance remaining strong the whole season...rare in this game. And although Matt is sneaky, I like that he was a fan of the game and came in to play it...lies if he has to, whatever to win the money. Britney knows the game of BB, and I admire that...but her cattiness and feeling of superiority really offend me...she's pathetic...and she's turned Ragan into her clone and that's a shame, because I thought no matter what, he would be that real person in the house. So, even though I can't pick a favorite houseguest, or favorite side, I can definitely say that this season has been extremely entertaining...and I thank BBDish for keeping me informed!!

I don't think Brendon is mean. He knows the way he and Rachael have been talked about. He may know more than we think he knows. If he does, his talk of Bratney's BF is fair game. I don't care about the age difference. They BOTH wanted to play the game. They are playing it. Being hateful this year is the main theme.

Jane, I value and respect your input. The reasoning with the letter however, was due to the fact that she composed it after seeing his lie on the feeds and knowing she would be able to perpetuate and support the lie. Hence she was allowed to "play the game"
