Final 2 Interview with Dan's Sister Kelly

Good afternoon, Big Brother lovers. Seeing as Dan has now made the final 2, I thought it was high time we checked back in with Dan's sister Kelly for another little interview.

For Team Dan Fans, just click the pic of Kelly and Monica to get an official Team Dan or Taken TShirt. A portion of the proceeds is going to the high school football team Dan coaches.

As with everything else on bbdish, we must request you not copy and paste this elsewhere. You are quite welcome to post a link.

Here's the direct url:

http://bbdish.blogspot.com/2008/09/final-2-interview-with-dans-sister.html

And here's Kelly!

BBDish Carolyn: Watching all the pranks between Dan & Keesha, did it feel familiar?

Kelly: Oh my. Watching Dan and Keesha is an absolute trip. THAT is the little brother Dan I know so well. Especially the scare tactics. I've been snuck up on many many times.

And while we are on familiar... it has been great to watch the Dan and Renny interactions, too. I swear I've witnessed the same bantering and hounding and question dodging between my mother and Dan. Renny was definitely his "mom away from mom."

BBDish Carolyn: Do you feel Dan's gotten a fair and accurate edit on tv?

Kelly: I've guiltily watched many hours of the live feeds this summer. And it seems the CBS edit (of Dan) has been pretty accurate and true to the actual happenings in the house. Dan, in the Big Brother house, has been the lil kid let loose in a candy store. He's been silly and really took this opportunity to just have fun. Dan is truly a great guy, and although he had to make some strategic moves that really ARE part of the game, he has made us all so proud.

BBDish Carolyn: How do you think the votes are going to come down?

Kelly: This is a question that I haven't put any thought into. I'm not sure if I think I'm going to jinx it, or maybe, I just don't have a clue. Its so hard to speculate, especially with this season's cast. As we all know, it is really based on whether the jury decides to vote personal or based on game.

BBDish Carolyn: In your estimation, why does Dan deserve the win over Memphis?

Kelly: This is a really hard question to answer. Of course I would love to see my brother win this game. In my opinion, he played a very well thought out, almost flawless game. YES, even the Replacement Nominee Roulette. He was weak when he needed to be, and when the time was right, he basically annihilated his competition... but definitely with the help of...

Memphis and the Renegade alliance...

Which I have grown very fond of. It would be different if Dan was in the Final 2 with someone I felt absolutely didn't deserve to be there. But the guys worked together, trusted each other, won comps for each other, and were true to their alliance. I whole heartedly believe that both Memphis and Dan deserve to be sitting together as the Final 2. And that is what makes it hard.

So my official answer is: as a huge Big Brother fan, I believe Dan deserves to win Big Brother 10. He formulated both a short and a long term game, and executed. And that is what I believe is the definition of a true Big Brother winner.

BBDish Carolyn: Thanks for making the time for us here at BBDish, Kelly. We wish Dan all the best at the finale.. and beyond.

Kelly: Thank you so much. Love your blog... it's part of my daily rotation :) Happy BB Finale!

Thanks a lot for that. Really cool to get an older sister perspective on a little brother in the lime light! I don't know if I could handle watching my little brother on BB, or any reality show for that matter. He's 5 years younger than me and is a lot of fun to be around, but I'd be on pins and needles the whole entire time!

I just don't think it is fair that the jury is not going to be informed of the America's player role that resulted in him labeled a Judas. If he loses by one vote (Jeery's) it will have cost him $450K.

Of course, BB is not fair and more evidence accrues that production is heavily involved.

Thank you again Carolyn. Another great interview!

And thank you Kelly! I am so excited and truly hope Dan wins too. He really did play the best game and I believe he was the brains behind the Renegades. I also feel that he would use the $$ much more wisely than Memphis.

I have watched many rounds of BB, and I have never seen a player like Dan. He was amazing. To be so viscious and still be loved takes a great personality and talent. A lot of players I have seen, put friendship before they're own game. Or, they don't think about anyone but themselves. Both have proven fatal mistakes. Job well done, he deserves the WIN>>

Carolyn, great interview! Dan is a lucky guy to have such a wonderful caring sister. His folks did a fine job raising him to be the man that he is. Monica's family must be pleased to have him as an almost member of the family.

I wonder if Dan's mom watched much of the feeds and laughed at Dan's antics with Renny. She must be one terrific lady!

I totally cracked up at Memphis and Dan's conversation about coed restrooms! So Dan, so Memphis. Then aagin they crack me up all tyhe time especially these last few days. This is why we adore these boys!

I hope the friendship they have found will last a lifetime. You don't compete on a reality show to make friends what a wonderful dividend these two have reaped!

I've said it before, but it's bares repeating.
Dan's game play****M A S T E R F U L**** that's why he deserves to win. I still don't fully understand the concept of letting losers pick the winner of a game on any of these reality tv shows. That's just my opinion though.
Thank you, Caroline, for all of your hard work this and every season. Great job!!!

scott in miami - if america had voted out memphis, the renegade alliance would never have existed & who knows if dan would have even made it to the final 2. and, if dan hadn't been america's player, he would have voted out jessie, which would have resulted in the judas comment.

Good interview Carolyn.

Go Team Dan!!!

The only person who I'm a little bit afraid of is Jeery. I think he wants to make good on his promise that "he controls the votes in the JH". If he votes vindictive, he'll vote for Memphis to win. If he votes on game play, then it's Dan.

Ok, I'm watching the Best of BB10 episode from last night. I agree with everyone on here, the banter between Memphis and Dan seemed very forced. Their walk down memory lane was lame. CBS should have just gave us a best of. Oi vey.

They both are so cute! After watching the video of Orphelia, wouldn't it be fun to have a look at how the house looked every season? Watching the video made me remember. I would love that!

And, Carolyn (good afternoon, BTW), I agree with you about that missing time that night. I was thinking that too, as I watched Sunday's show. Dan was speaking in his DR voice and Mem did look uncomfortable...very staged.

I love Team Dan... and Memphis! I'm so glad one of them will win, although I can't decide who!
I went to CBS and voted for the Jury Member, although I had trouble deciding. I wish I could give it to Angie, to tell you the truth... She was my favorite player. Although... I sometimes wonder if a "bitchier" side would have come out of her if she had stayed, or they had a twist where one houseguest came back, and she was chosen. It's almost inevitable that she probably had to become a bitch because of the personalities left in that house - April, Ollie, Michelle! Ack!

WoW!!! That was the best surprise, Carolyn... Thank you and thank you Kelly for taking the time for the interview... Dan has played a great game...And I hope the jury does vote on best game played and not their emotions... I think Memphis has played a good game too, but...I put Dan & Keesha in the same playing field and Memphis and Renny in their own. Hope that makes sense...lol The thing is, if it wasn't for Keesha, those 2 guys wouldn't be sitting there...For that, she deserves AC... GO VOTE!!!! Go Vote!!!
Again, thank you Carolyn for the wonderful surprise...

I do agree with Dan playing the game totally almost flawless but he didnt do it by hisself. I wish they would come to an agreement between the two of them that they split the money after leaving the house...LOL LOL And what about the 20,000 for being the Player. Can't wait to see what they say when they find that out also. April will croak...LOL LOL!!!

But I love the personal interviews with the girlfriends and sisters and mothers. Have you had an interview with Ashley yet?

Oh did anyone see Dan looking very worried last night after the hot tub when He asked Memphis if anyone promised him their vote and Memphis told him Jerry did. Then Dan went inside to take shower and instead layed down and laid there. I thought That Man is Worried...We'll see Tomorrow Night...

Thanks for clearing that up. They look so much alike, at least in my GaYToR eyes. I'm sure Dan would disagree completely.

Good afternoon everyone. Hope your day is going well. I'm back to my very very weird sleeping hours, so after I checked in for a 'command performance' :p~ and you know who you are that commanded it, my Queen, I went back to the sofa for some AMC and DoOL. I barely got started with DoOL before I was fast asleep in dreamland, wanting a Blue Mug.

Blue, careful there boy. Your nose is gonna grow like Pinocchio's and blast through your monitor. *CRASH* HEY! :-D That's not your nose at all, is it? :p~~ For your doctor only... mmhmmm. Well nothing wrong with dating a doctor. I've been in bed with a few doctors myself. Medically speaking of course!

Hmmmm, maybe that's what Carolyn needs, even more than a Spa Day... or maybe to end the Spa Day.

:p~ Mama Caro.

Oh my train (of thought) jumped it's track. I was here to comment on the interview.

Great Job Carolyn, and a big thank you to Kelly. It's nice to know she pops in every day on her rounds. Now if we could just get her to post so we can show Father Dan even more love here.

Like bonniegirl said, I don't know if I could handle watching a sibling or anyone I know well on such a show. Survivor, maybe, because I would already know the outcome unless they made it to the big finale. but on BB we are live with them and on the edge of our chairs every eviction and HoH Comp.

So, Thanks Kelly! and Go Team Dan. I want a TAKEN t-shirt, but alas no X-Large. :( Maybe I can contact the website and ask for one. I need one for MY Danny so all the menz don't go hittin' on him while I'm on stage. HAHA!

I'll be back. I need to read this before I type more. I don't remember what I've said and to who, and I hate scrolling and reading my own stuff. I only look for typos and misspelled words and miss those half the time.

Kelly, I've honestly been behind Dan since he started winning, actually before that. I loved his alliance, he's the one who created the Fab 4. And for that, if for nothing else, he deserves to win.

On other subjects, Memphis does not claim to understand Keesha's question asking him if he had any remorse over evicting her when he did. To me there are 2 theories on who the HG's want to be in F2&3 wish....either the easiest people to beat, or the HG's who deserve it by playing the game the best. Memphis chose to go with the easiest people to beat, and I dislike that choice. It makes for a boring final 10 days, with 2 people dominating the competition to the extent that there is no true competition. The F2 in this case can brag that they accomplished their position by evicting HG's. But they really can't brag that they beat out 2 other people in a fierce and competitive final HOH competition. Jerry didn't win anything in F3, he didn't even come close. D/M had planned out who should win which comp. Just too easy, comps were too short(at least the endurance comp was). Dan can't say he won the endurance comp because of his ability, but he can say his F3 plan was successful. I think BB needs to work on F3 HOH comp procedures to try to prevent this from happening so often, the same thing happened last year. Even fans lose interest in watching the shows when it's like this. Boring!

If Memphis would have chosen Keesha to go to F3, then D/M would have prioritized loyalty, appreciation, and friendship at least a little. Surely Memphis can understand at least the concept, and that Keesha might be upset that he swore F2 to her for weeks.

But in a way I can't blame them, Keesha had several opportunities to save herself, but she could not win important competitions to do so. I think this was partially caused by her depression after Renny left, she couldn't quite hang in there to stay competitive. So survival of the toughest prevailed, Dan and Memphis.

UGH! 25 and a half hours to go before the show starts. Almost 26 and a half before we find out how the jury votes.

I hope Julie doesn't tell the Jury about the America's Player before they lock in their keys. That wouldn't be fair at all. It could change the mind of a crucial vote. Anyone remember how that was... well Eric didn't get this far so it's uncharted territory. I'll be biting my claws.

RedRhonda, no word from Danny's mom and brother yet. But after finding out all of Cleveland (TX) is without power we aren't AS worried. Worried yes, but as Aunt Mary called and told us yesterday, we have to remember what a survivor she is and a little wind isn't going to change that at all.

UGH! The sites we are seeing on TV now of the area bring back nightmares of Katrina. Total destruction and thousands in need.

If I may advertise for another charity, and the one that gave us the most help 3 years ago. Make a donation to the Salvation Army. IMO they do more and do it faster than Red Cross, and they don't just ask for money. They accept so many other types of donations.

I wouldn't be a good father if I didn't also mention another good place to remember is the SPCA. They do so much and for those of us who have 4 legged children, they are definitely worth remembering. When we got to the Astrodome 3 years ago, the Houston SPCA was the first to greet us and they took excellent care of Oscar, even for the short time we were there. But they treated him so well, and they had so many... They are always short-staffed but they are there and you know the ones that are there are as crazy as the rest of us with 4 legged children. Oscar came first in all our Katrina aftermath decisions.

Hi All .. I've been offline for a couple of days and really missed this site ... Thanks again to Carolyn and the DishChicks for bringing everyone together and for keeping us well informed on the happenings inside the house. You ROCK!

And to Kelly, A great big THANK YOU for taking the time to visit with us here. It was very much appreciated. So nice to know that Dan is truly the person we see in him in this game. Some come off as so phony and you can just tell they are not being "real" ... Dan is, well, just Dan. And he's a truly remarkable young man. His dedication to OLSM, to Monica, to his family .. is simply awesome.

And for Ashley (hope I spelled it right) .. in case you wander by, your guy Memphis is a real treasure as well. He knows when to hold his cards close and when to take a chance. Best of all, we saw the loyalty he shows toward true friends and, of course, toward his number 1 girl. You are also blessed.

So, GO RENEGADES and Congratulations on making it through to the F2 ... it's in the hands of the jury now ... ;)

Ok, let me get my rant out before this possibly raises it ugly head.

If the vote goes 4-3 either way and Jeery is one of the "4 votes", no one will ever hear the end of his claim to the fact that he decided who got the $500K.

SO NOT TRUE.

None of the 4 votes carries more weight than the other 3.

So Jeery get over it. You are not going to decide by yourself who gets the $500K. You are all in sequester and you never had the opportunity to talk to any of the other Jury members. At least, according to what Chelsia said. Her comment was the last one evicted would be taken directly to a hotel room. And Jerry did say on his HC segment that he had stayed in the hotel the night before. This may be true of all the HG, but his HC was on Friday and it would have been unlikely he would have had any opportunity to talk to the Jury, if at all.

Keesha will have the best opportunity to have swayed any of the other Jury members, since she had a few days with them.

Ohhh...
And thank you Carolyn and Kelly for the interview. Very much appreciated.

Carolyn, we weren't in the Super Dome here in New Orleans, nor the Convention Center. They weren't allowing pets and as I said, Oscar came first in all our decisions.

I didn't have a blog back then but I wrote emails to everyone on my lists. I also journaled it because my therapist for that next 22 months demamded it. It's now tucked away and while it is there to read, I never go back to it. I don't know if I ever will.

But we were very lucky to have Danny's family in Houston and within an hour of arriving at the AstroDome, we were picked up by his family and well cared for until Rita came along and we went to Dallas. We couldn't handle two in a row and Rita was expected to do just what Ike did this week. Dead hit on Houston.

I was thinking about that just this morning. The comparison of 3 years ago to this disaster, and how much difference a few miles makes when it comes to the destruction. Katrina got us, but got the MS Gulf Coast even worse, it just wasn't talked about as much. Rita turned east and got the TX/LA border and Lake Charles and that area harder.

Now 3 years and everything shifted to the west. At just about the same distance for each and with equal destruction.

Thanks for letting me ramble. I think I needed that to put things into perspective.

Now we all say prayers for the safety of everyone affected this time.

Dee H. You bring up some very good points on how the F4/F3 should go. I don't know how I would play it... I guess none of us do unless we are in that position. For game play, taking the strongest player and one in your alliance that helped you get there would be the most sportsman like thing to do, but when it comes down for the REAL chance at $500K, the weakest player makes more sense to keep.

I know we all wanted to see Keesha in that F3, mostly because we can't stand Jerry and his ways. But do we know that Keesha was weakened by the eviction of Renny? No, we don't. We saw it appear that way, and I am sure she was somewhat rattled, but Keesha is a player and should have sprung back and won something. I wish she had. We will never know if she was just too trusting and saving herself for the F3 comps.

But, as we go into that final 24 hour countdown, all I can (well all I can say about the game) is GO DAN!

Thanks Carolyn and Kelly for the great interview! I've been on Team Dan for weeks now and so hope that the jury votes game play.

This season has been refreshing for so many reasons but one of the main one's is Dan's personality. I believe he kept the majority of the house guests on a fun, human level. After the harshness of Season 8 and the crudeness of 9, these HGs were so normal. It was a joy to watch game play not tainted by sex, violence and nastiness (except Michelle/Ollie/Jerry/April). LOL

Thank you GoodTimes... The hugs say it all.

I wish I could go to Houston and all the way up to indiana >;) and beyond and give everyone now affected big hugs. We got a lot of those 3 years ago and that was some of the best medicine we could get at the time.

This is for Carolyn:
Great job on all the updates. This is my first year finding you and I have been a BB fan since BB1 Its so much better reading others comments. I bought my honey a teeter hang up for his back (the infomercial is on tv) but I bought it locally at a fitness store. He has done it every night faithfully since May and no more back pain. He hangs upside down for 5-10 mins at a time and gets off there feeling refreshed and taller..LOL might be worth checking in to so your back wont give you such fits...

Roseya, LOL indeed at your last sentence. I try my best to forget about the "Bible Buddies" but M/O/J/A were so similar but they didn't hide behind the Book. They were vile without it, and I'm glad. I don't know that I could have taken another season of that. Dan brought his Bible, but he didn't look up quotes to justify his actions. Not that he had any actions that needed justification. Others read it, but same thing. No one used it as a crutch.

I was happy when I found out that the jury was seperated immediatley after the questioning because the have now been forced to think about the game. Jerry who has threatened the H/G all season with controlling the jury was not there long enough to have much impact..I don't think the others listen to him anyway.

Hi to all the BB Dishers! I have been a lurker of this board and few other BB boards for the past few seasons. You guys are my absolute favorite. Very informative and entertaining and I was happy to see when TRD joined you; he is very talented as well. Thanks to Carolyn and all the others for all that you do.

I loved the interview with Kelly and saw that it was not her first interview with Carolyn. I was wondering how I could easily find her first interview, as well as any other family chats I may have missed. Thanks in advance!

I love the Renegades and am happy they made it to the final 2, but I'm hoping Dan FTW tomorrow night!!!!

Have a great evening everyone.

Sending a virtual masseuse to Carolyn, and she can pick all his.... dimensions.

To fracture Shakespeare, "Get the to a Beddery."

And ICE ICE BABY! I'm not sure which is worse, because fresh pain is much worse than one you are already dealing with.

Call X, get to bed, and don't get up until the finale hours... And only then because we all know you wouldn't miss that no matter what we say.

>:( <--Mad GaYToR (and you don't one of them on your tush.)

Gaytor, actually we can be pretty sure that Renny's exit was the cause or catalyst of Keesha's late season lethargy. Keesha said so herself in her Housecalls interview. (or was it with Julie..well, one of those!)

Truthfully, most HG's get lethargic after being in the BB house for several weeks, maybe even sooner. They check out mentally, probably as an escape mechanism. To be intense for that long can get to about anyone! But the difference between the winners and the losers seems to be that the winners don't check out mentally, and they remain competitive throughout the season. They keep their mental sharpness, thus able to win the last couple of comps. The only time Dan could be caught sleeping his life away was the last couple of days after the jury questions, when his job was done.

Noni - great poem!

So I am going to went alittle with Danielle and Gretchen from CBS Housecalls. This morning after waiting forever and being a BB fan since season 1, I finally got to be on Housecalls. I USED TO BE a big Dick and Dani fan until today. What a conceited ***** that Danielle is! You can watch todays episode to see what I mean. I was the first caller - Holly from the Rocky Mountains. I made the mistake of giving Danielle a compliment by saying that I think her and Keesha are both so pretty and they should do a movie together. She (and Gretchen) both looked horrified as if I sugguested it was a porn movie or something haha. Gretchen said that they don't like to even mention Keesha's name or compare Dani to Keesha! Look Dani - Keesha is even prettier than you so take it as a compliment - not an insult. How conceited can one person be? I am still a Dick fan and I really feel for him having a daughter like her. Then she tells Gretchen to hang-up on me and Gretchen says "I read your mind." Short read I guess. Real class act the Housecalls is. Wow, nice way to treat people. But it's ok, Gretchen and Danielle will learn that karma is a bitch!

Carolyn. I'm finally getting around to looking at the mugs and shirts and etc and I guess you know which set I'll be ordering from. Guess what everyone will be getting for Christmas.

Carolyn you make me *BLUSH* big time, and humble me in the same breath. I never expected to see my name on a DishChick item.

For the first time in I can't remember when, I am .... speechless.

Hello all,

I haven't had a chance to read the comments, so sorry if I am repeating anyone's thoughts.

Thank you Kelly and Carolyn! Carolyn, I love your site because of all the inside info you get, and share with us, including Chelsia's bloggin'.

I hope everyone is well. I will be clickin' Keesha all night long until I fall asleep, as it seems there is no limit to how many votes you may cast for America's Choice. I have voted AT LEAST 50 times per day for Keesha since Thursday, online. I have already voted for Keesha more than 60 times today already. Let's see if I can make it an even k for today. K is for Keesha!

I kinda felt like the edit yesterday favored Renny, as in favored Renny to win AC. Maybe she is in the lead? I would be very happy if Renny won AC, but obviously favor Keesha winning. I think she played a better game and probably needs the money more. But what do I know?

I'd better get clickin!

I just finished watching house calls and I heard your call and I was so suprised by Dani. You were so clearly paying her a compliment and she turned all snotty. I'm really sorry that she did that to you.

thanks so much for a great season. it's such a joy to listen and interact with nice people who have good hearts. as for the game, as i watch the feeds tonight, all i can think is how nice it is to watch 2 normal, healthy, kind individuals -- deal with the stress and fall out so graciously. they both deserve to be there. i won't be so happy for the winner, as i will be sad for the 50k winner. again, thanks for the fun. debra in va

CAROLYN! I am a victim of Ike in Houston, and my power just came on! I missed Sunday and Tuesday's shows, so first thing I did is turn on the computer and go to your website! I knew that Dan won, but that's all. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your website and letting me see how it played out and of course comments, pictures, and descriptions. I hope to watch the 2 episodes on CBS website later. Again, thank you so much! I am a devoted watcher of your website every day for years during Big Brother! All is okay here, just cleaning up the mess and BASKING in the air conditioning for the last 30 minutes! Pray for the victims and evacuees from Galveston and Houston area as Ike really made his wrath known. Cheers! Teresa
