Big Brother 12: Kristen's Bold Move
Good evening, Big Brother Lovers!
It's 6pm BBT, and as we check in on the live feeds, Kristen is making her pitch to stay to Lane. Kathy is helping...
Kathy: Who is Rachel. Nobody knows. I don't even think she knows.
Kristen: The thing is to make a bold play.
***This "bold play" Kristen's talking about is to keep her, because that's what Rachel doesn't want, and why give her what she wants? Kristen has been selling this bold play to anyone who will listen this afternoon. Incidentally, Kathy has already come out as a vote for her to stay... The kiss of death in BB12.
Lots of talk about Janelle and how Rachel is modeling herself after her... especially with the "Floaters get your life vests" comment.
Lane: She already had in her head what she was gonna say if she won HoH.
Kristen: Her logic just doesn't make any sense.
Lane: Why would she not want more women in the game.
Kathy: She doesn't want any women in the game. She wants to be the only one.
Lane: It's.. she.. you're both well liked in the house, but she thinks she can persuade Hayden easier than you.. You've proven that, so she wants you out of the house. That's the only reason.
Kristen: I'm just honest. That's the way I am.
Lane: You have mad respect from me for putting up with that arguing.. You held it back. I would've forgotten the cameras were on.
Lane goes off to play pool, leaving Kathy and Kristen smoking on the couch... and talking about Rachel.
Kristen: I don't want her to get her way.
Kathy: And she hates that. She wants to be the center of attention. Makes me sick.
Kristen: And she thinks I'm giving up too.
Kathy: Oh, does she?
Kristen: Yeah.. she keeps asking people, "How's Kristen?" I'm fine, b*tch. I'm not going anywhere... And I'd love nothing more than for Andrew to see that I'm still in this house. Bastard.
Kathy: Oh, I know.
The bash goes on... Then Kristen starts counting potential votes... Among them are Kathy (a sure thing), Matt (wrong), Britney, Ragan...
Kristen: If I leave, the 3 girls that are left are Rachel, Britney and you, and everyone still looks at you as a floater..
6:15pm BBT
Matt & Britney join them on the couch... Feeding time.
Britney: What're you up to?
Kristen: Game talkin'. What else am I gonna do?
Britney: Oh cool... I love how you're up front about it. You can game talk me later.
Kristen: I intend to.
Matt: Power point presentation, graphics, charts...
Enzo joins them on the couch too...
Kathy goes inside to grab some food for herself and Kristen. Lane joins.. The backyard couch is the dining table this evening.. Friendly chatter... Ragan joins..
Britney: How goes the unitard.
Kristen: Fab. I just had a cigarette while jazzercizing...
There will be a pool tournament this evening, starting very soon.
6:27pm BBT
The couch clears out for the pool tournament, until it's only Ragan and Kristen. He asks her if her DR made her feel better. She says it did, and she wishes she could tell him more about it.
Kristen: The more and more I think about it, in this case, I'm not sure it's going to be a majority thing, because people are really going to have to think: who's going to benefit me more in this game. Two huge competitors haven't been up against each other before. Everyone's gonna have to consider that. Like, honestly, for you, I think it would benefit you more to keep me.
Kathy is sitting there, silently...
Ragan: Who else have you got?
Kristen: So far, Kathy.
Ragan: That's a given.
Kristen: Since I've been in this house, I've laid everything out on the line, as is, which is a very different approach.. Like, nobody can say I'm a snake or a liar.
Ragan: Have you talked to Britney and Enzo?
Kristen: I'm gonna talk to everyone. At first, I wasn't gonna talk to Brendon, but I should, because at a certain point, Hayden's gonna be a bigger threat to Brendon than I would be.
Ragan: Right.
Kristen: It's just the truth.
Ragan: Right.
Kristen: I just think it's time for the house to start thinking about what's more beneficial to them in the game.. And keeping Hayden isn't for more than half the people in the game.
Ragan: The problem is, if the numbers are against them, it becomes dangerous for them.. But if you can make that case.
Kristen: The point is, why does Rachel want me out of the house so badly, when Hayden's gonna turn around and do the exact same thing to them, and he's already won an Hoh.
Ragan: I think that you have a case to bring to Brendon then.. Who does he want to compete against in the next HoH?
Kristen: It kills me to have to do this, but I'm on the block for personal reasons, and I don't wanna leave this house.
Ragan advises her to just talk to the both of them, since that's how they work.
Ragan: You're very smart. I think you know which votes you can get, and which are the harder votes. You have to work there first.

Rachel and Brendon join the group on the couch, ending the conversation in progress... THey eat in virtual silence, bookended by the joyful spirits of Kathy & Kristen.

The guys are all gathered around the pool table, being guys, making small talk and avoiding the confrontation and unpleasantness that may erupt from the women...

Britney: I think you should have the conversation for sure, just be careful with what you say to Matt. Lane and Enzo are cool though. Just keep talking to people.
Kristen: This sucks! Even if I stay, it sucks that this happened so early. I just feel like I'm such an asset to someone, because I'm so honest, and I do what's right. I'm an asset, and somebody needs to think about that. I don't think there are too many people in the house like me. Kathy is surprisingly honest and straightforward (***BAHAHAHAHA), but she's not a competitor.. and people need to consider what's best for them... And another reason I think Rachel wants me gone is that for Brendon, it's worse to have Hayden here, but for her, it's worse to have me here. I'm gonna talk to Brendon about that...
Britney: Alright, well keep me posted.
Kristen: I will.
Britney: Thanks for the talk.
Britney skedaddles out of there fast!

- Kristen & Hayden are in the Cabana Room, making eyes and playing footsie, literally. She tells him she's campaigning, but she'll never say anything bad about him, just what's good about her.

Ragan: I really think it's gonna be a house vote. Here's the thing.. You should make logical cases to everyone, just as Kristen should...
Hayden: I still feel like..
Ragan: This is what I told Kristen, and I told her I would tell you exactly the same thing. Campaigning for yourself is vastly different from campaigning against someone else. You both are strong players. I think it's an uphill battle for Kristen, but the flip of that is, I don't think you should be complacent.
Hayden: I don't feel safe at all. If the vote was tonight, I feel like I could win 4-3 or 5-2... but it's not til Thursday, and a lot can change.
Ragan: I think it's gonna be a 6-1 vote. I'm not saying it should be, but I think it will be. You're both great people and strong competitors... It's not like last week where you can just sit back and watch someone self-destruct. I think ultimately, most people in the house feel the same as I do, so the person who stays in the house will be the most logical choice... This isn't gonna be an emotional choice, it's gonna be what makes sense... So the conversations over the next couple days should focus on that. Your case is that you've been consistently good in everything you've done...
Hayden gets Ragan's gist... Keeping him helps the rest of the house get rid of Brendon and Rachel at some point.
Ragan: I just can't believe that one of you is gonna be gone at week four.
Hayden: It's pretty crazy.
Ragan: So have you and Kristen talked about how you're gonna handle this week?
Hayden: Yeah.. I told her I want her to campaign.

Kristen is going to try hard. I just don't see her swaying the Brigade. They have been pretty adamant that even if she was up against Kathy, they would have voted her out.
Her smooching with Hayden has rocked the brigade boat and they don't need no stinkin life vests . . . they are not floaters . . . they are sinkers!

good evening! At this point, Kristen has nothing to lose. It's been made clear that Rachel wants her gone and of course, everyone (except Kathy) is going to follow her lead. I may not like Kathy, but I give her credit for voting for herself and not the house. If I were Kristen, I would fight like heck to stay. Tell Rachel and Brendon that her and Hayden were/are romantic, but that's all- not a "true" alliance. Say that she never said she would put up B&R untill this week after the blowup.(true) say that everyone (with the exception of Ragan) has made it clear they want them out(including her new BFF, Britney)Go for it,girl!worst case, Rachel doesnt buy it and she goes-and she most likely is anyway. she's not even going to jury, so she doesnt have to see these people till the after party. Now, if she really, truly cares about Hayden, she may bot be able to do it, but something tells me she is thinking for herself now. It's a game-play it!

I am kinda liking Kris's Idea of letting Hayden go and keeping Kris around. She does have a point about the female thing and Rachel wanting to get rid of them all and Rachel being the only one left, but I can also see that back firing on her too and then all the guys getting her out once she is the only one lol.

Wow, I had some catching up to do. I had a chance to check in on my phone this morning, and all day I have been wondering what was going to happen.
I am glad Brittney did not use the POV, I don't think it would have been a good move for her, and we know it wouldn't have been a good move for Rachel or Brendon, who I would like to see around a while more.
I think unless something serious happens the boys will keep Hayden so they can stay strong in numbers.
It will be interesting to see the next thing Kristen comes up with.

I personally was a Brit/Monet and Ragan fan at the start of the season, once monet left, I never could stand Rachel...I miss her and Brit's banter but Britney keeps me entertained with her quick one liners. All in good humor.
Anyway as far as gameplay now...I admire Kristen for continuing to play the game and not losing hope....I just think as the time goes on she may waver and give up and that pretty much is going to seal the deal. Hayden stays, Kristen goes sadly.

So I wonder how any of the other house guest would act if for most of their stay in the BB house you were on the block or people were gunning for you and if you didn’t win it would be your last days in the house. You saw what happen to Brittney she fell apart. Andrew went nuts, Kathy well, she started telling everyone how bad her life was, and she was pretty pitiful. I think Rachel for the most part has been acting pretty good, considering? Everyone hates her and Brendon. Which gets me to my point, I’ am sick of everyone just trashing them, they sit there and tear them apart. They gang up on them all at once, when ever there is a bus driving by they throw their names under it. Give me a break. Do any of these houseguest have their own brains? They don’t even act like adults, come on, if I have to hear any more Brendon bashing about is cooking, I will hit my screen. They are so mean. I know this is a game, and lying is a big part of it, but these people are downright two faced. I can’t wait to see one of them fighting for their life’s for a couple of weeks and see how friendly they are going to be to each other. When Rachel was on the block she didn’t sit in a corner and cry as much as Kristen puts a spin on it Rachel really does see thru her and Kathy, they don’t like her, so why should she keep them around?
Carolyn: I do agree...I didn't like that Brit change it up to suit her needs...She really is playing all sides and doing really well at it...could come back and bite her in the butt. She would never put Rachel on a petastal to anyone else in the house.
If there is frustration on the Dish I think it has to do with this stubborn frustrating season.
Brit is the only one thinking out of the box and tryibg to wheel and deal. Everyone else has been stuck in a holding pattern for three weeks now.
I agree, it is a long shot. I think I have a better chance of winning the lottery at this point. I am in no way a Kristin fan BUT I like a good game - and her staying would make a good game. I think at this point the only way she could stay would be to out the Brigade. Of course, she would need to know about the Brigade to make that happen!
If she stays, I will be kicking my own butt for a long time for not buying a lottery ticket! lol
Im listening to Kristen and Brittany and she was talking about how the house votes together..that drives me nuts! it was much more fun when the house was split out in the open.

WOWZERS did I ever miss a lot this weekend! It was a long weekend here and a really good friend of mine got married so I've been busy, busy, busy!

Okay - so I just rewatched the episode last Thursday, and I have some more specific feelings about this season. (It is about time! This season has [so far] moved in slow motion.)
First, unlike many commentators have mentioned, I thinking the casting this season is BRILLIANT! Especially compared to last season freaks and geeks cast. Don't get me wrong; I myself would be considered "offbeat" at best, but last seasons' cast was over the top - only exacerbated by the addition by bringing in Jessie from an even more f-ed up season.
I like that this years' cast has some restraint and common sense. Sure, we all like some drama, but some of the people in past seasons were just psycho. Do I need to name names? Okay I will; just from LAST season: Jessie, for one (major douchebag), also Gnatalie, Chima, Lydia, Ronnie and Russell.
This year's cast is overwhelmingly intelligent, calm and reasoned. Sure, not as excited to watch day to day, but FAR more insightful and interesting to watch.
Okay - all that said, There are some off-kilter thinkers - as exemplified by Andrew's speech on eviction night. Rachel and Brendon are also notable for their delusional thinking; though some of that can be excused by them being the target from week one.
I LOVE that there are some smart (and knowledgeable) players, and a nice mix of ignorant (and I mean that in the true definition of the word) players like Hayden. I really like that there are none of the crazy women that we have been exposed to in past seasons. (Okay Rachel and especially Kathy can be seen as marginal in that regard.)
Okay - now for some observations:
1) Brendon is a controlling egomaniac who obviously thinks he is the smartest person in the house, let alone Southern California. His redeeming quality is that he is eye candy for many; and fun to watch because he IS so delusional about his ability to "teach" others.
2) Enzo (and to a lesser degree Lane) is homophobic. I LOVE that his eyes well up when he thinks about his wife and child; but he has spewed some vile comments in the live feeds regarding Ragan.
3) Rachel. Sweet, sweet Rachel. She is so nice at times, (if you can overlook the laugh) but then she really loses me when she gets catty and attacks the same people that she needs later in the game. [Rachel is the one person in the cast that would fit easily in any other season.]
4) Britney - my new favorite player! Early in the season Brit was being a major bitch with Monet; commenting on everyone's shortcomings. Even then I could see the sarcastic sense of humor and biting wit. She is funny, smart and I just think she is playing a great game. I would have loved to see her use the Veto, just to stir things up, but she is one smart cookie.
Lastly - Andrew. What and idiot! That's all :)

Hi Kevin - You had me til the last line. I really liked Andrew... While he definitely blundered in that PoV speech, and that was his downfall, I would never call him an idiot.
Quite the contrary, I thought his game play was excellent up until that point... most notably in the way he kept everyone's secrets to himself for later usage..
Unfortunately, he didn't use them in a way that could actually help him.

Kevin I agree with you on all points but Andrew. He did play a good game until the end when he blew up. He had great info on everyone but didn't know when to use it to save himself.
There should be camera directly above the pool table. They do that when you watch pool tournaments on tv.

I think the only problem andrew had was what his speeches were.
He should have used the info he had as a blackmail or bribe to keep quiet and that may have saved him.

Tina, i think it's anybody's guess. The Brigade is the only alliance that hasn't been found out and they haven't done much. Matt screwed up the first chance they had to get Rachel and Brandon out.

Okay, so I was a bit harsh about Andrew; and I did not cite any specific examples to represent my point of view. Let me try again:
Andrew was in over his head and such a terrible liar. In his POV speech he could not even keep a straight face when he said he was coming after Brendon and Rachel. The smile that flashed on his face told volumes.
I liked Andrew in his exit speech with Julie (watch the long version from the Today show) but he clearly could not function well in the game. Starting with his social awkwardness and followed up by his total lack of any ability to speak coherently when under pressure - he was destined to be sent out before the jury house.

Re Survivor, not sure what they are planning for the night it will be on. I saw a commercial today that said that the one show Big Bang Theory is moving to Thursday nights. Maybe they are going to mess with the schedules this year :( I sure hope not because BB not being on Tuesdays this summer has all ready messed me up, lol.

Andrew was and still is my favorite HG. His game was over with his POV speech. And he should have used his eviction info as blackmail for the others to stay in the house. Although, nobody believed him anyway. It will be funny when they find out that Kristen & Hayden aren't brother and sister.
I agree that Rachel is the only one that would have fit in with any other cast. Maybe Kristen too. And, to a certain extent, Britney.
I have been liking Britney more and more since Monet left.
However, I may be in the minority but I am rooting for Brendon and Rachel. Not their showmance but their game. I like the underdog and with not a lot of other game play going on, I find myself rooting for Brendon and Rachel every competition. The Brigade has yet to make a big power move. I guess Andrew could be seen as a mini power move since he was on Brendon and Rachel's side - but that wasn't their doing, it was his own.
I wish Matt would talk to the feeds like Ragan has. I would love to know what is going on in his head.
Evening All! Count me in missing the Tuesday show, just kind of seems jammed together and not spread apart enough.
Have just one comment about the Brigade that a lot of people seem to not like so much and think is such a joke. They may be goofy and over confident, etc., but they still have been keeping it under wraps. No one else thinks that there is another big alliance in that house and I really have to give it to them for that, they are playing it well for now.
I too think Britney is doing well. Also, she is hilarious and can pull off the casual talk when she needs to change fast.

I still hope for something to happen to cause some weave pulling or something. Eyelash pulling would be even better, I wonder how much Kathy pays for those implants.
I'd love to do that. False lashes can get expensive, especially in the summer when sometimes I get one wearing because it gets so hot the sweat soaks them and they fall off in mid-show. That's happened to me the last 4 shows I've done. When you wear those huge DQ lashes, and lose one, it's VERY obvious.

Yes, I was here all morning and a while after PoV Ceremony. So I got all that. Then ZzzZzz for me. a LONG one. This heat is about to put me into an early grave. Maybe not early enough for some... (Syn :-p~)
Still 103° THI as I type. Not sure how far it actually went today. Last I checked before I went Zzzz, I was going to call my step-mom in central AR, I looked up her zipcode on WeatherBug and she was at 117°. I worry about her if course. She's 79 and not in great health (a stroke 2 years ago) so I worry because I know she doesn't use her AC as much as she should.
Make me stop and call her in the morning please.

Hi everyone! I've commented on here one time under a different account but I can't get it to work again :( So let's say I'm a first time commenter? Long time reader!
Kristen is annoying me so badly. She weirdly reminds me of LC from The Hills, in that blandly good looking and mopey kind of way. Same eye makeup, too.
But I find her whole "I tell the TRUTH!" soapbox hilarious. Except for that secret showmance thing. Also, it's really gross she just said a guy should snatch her up, take her, and use her. I get what she meant, but ew. And she's the strongest girl in the house? With Rachel with two HOH's and Britney with two POVs? Strong how?
I know now for sure what Rachel's job is in Vegas. And I call BS on the $250,000 dollar 6 liter bottle of Cristal. They are around $25,000.
