Big Brother 15: DR Conspiracy to Save Amanda Zuckerman?

Following Elissa's shocking flip to save Amanda last night at 12:40am, and covered in The Overnight Report, the internet exploded with charges of DR interference.  DR Conspiracy?  Not so fast..  This is Amanda's life in the game we're talking about here.

Elissa didn't come up with the idea, and neither did the DR.  Amanda did, in a conversation that took place at 10:23pm Monday night on camera 1 and 2...  well before any alcohol had been consumed.

I've transcribed the 2 conversations and placed them one after the other in this post..   The times and cameras are included, if you'd like to view for yourself on flashback.

Remember, just because the HGs are paranoid doesn't mean you have to be.. ;0)  All season long, the people in the Diary Room ask the houseguests to consider scenarios from all angles, mostly for the sake of DR soundbites, as they do not actually have a vested interest in the outcome, ie., they don't care who wins.  It is not until later in the season, once the HGs are so close to the 500k they can taste it, that paranoia is at an all time high, and everything said to them in the DR becomes perceived as some form of manipulation.

Amanda: I know that this is kind of a lost cause, but I figured I'd present something to you anyways, cuz um.. I dunno.. So.. Spencer said yesterday to McCrae that the next people he wants to go after is you and Ginamarie. And it's always you.. Like, you and Judd or you and Ginamarie. You can even go back to him and tell him, because he said it in front of people..

Elissa: ok.
Amanda: I know that we've had our differences, and for you, Helen was close to you and helped your game, and for me, Aaryn was close to me and helped my game.. numbers wise.  I feel like, at that point, we';re kinda back to square one, because you got rid of Aaryn, we got rid of Helen, and in the beginning of this game, when it seemed as though, like you, you were gonna go, I stuck my neck out there.. for you and I saved you..
Elissa: (nods in the affirmative)

Amanda: ..and I mean.
Elissa: But there's no way I would've went, and if I went, they  would've brought me back..
Amanda: Well, even if that was the case..
Elissa: There's no way.
Amanda: But I didn't know that. Like, if you didn't have the votes, then you wouldn't..  You would've gone.  You know what I mean?  And there's probably gonna be a double eviction, after this next eviction, and after I go?  Like, I just feel as though, if you kept me here, I would have.. I have nothing else.  You would have me an McCrae.  Hands down.  Fighting for you.  And we would not put you up on the block, and that's 2 votes right there.  100%.  I would give you..  You can hold on to anything to guarantee that.. If you save me, it would be all you.  You would be.. the swing vote.

Amanda: And that's 2 people right there saving you.. as opposed to Spencer who is definitely coming after you, 150%.  And he said you and Ginamarie, he wants to put up together.  So.. I mean there's really not much.  I know I've been a total asshole to you, and we've had our personal differences, but it the end, like I told you from the beginning, I will always be honest with you.  I was honest with you about the Helen thing.. I've been honest with you since the beginning... of the game.  I feel like I never lied to you.

Amanda: I know that it's probably a lost cause, but I feel like, game wise, if you save me, then you would have 3 people playing for HoH next week that would protect you. Me, McCrae and Andy would..
Elissa: So you think Andy is definitely voting to keep you?

Amanda: If you would keep me, Andy would keep me.  If you wouldn't, then he wouldn't.  If he knew that we had the votes to keep me, he would.

Amanda: ..but not if he doesn't.  If I'm still here, Spencer will still be going after me (**from the jury house?), Andy will still put me up, Ginamarie will 100% still have to go after me and McCrae, Judd will be going after me and McCrae.  You know?  Like, i'll still be here, I'll still be a target off of you..  Know what I mean?  We're 2 seats.. Especially in a double eviction.
Elissa: mm
Amanda: It's something to think about.  I don't need an answer from you now.  I know it's a stretch, after everything that I've put you through, but gamewise, just know that loyalty is a huge thing for me.
Elissa: mm
Amanda: That's why I fought so hard to get Ginamarie up on the block, and not Andy on the block.. When I was like, I'll vote Andy out.. That was just a whole ploy to have you question whether you should even put him up.. I wanted to keep those two safe, because I was loyal to them..  In the end, I was more loyal to Andy, because at the end of Aaryn's HoH, I felt like she was faltering anyway.  So.. Loyalty is huge to me.
Elissa: mm hmm
Amanda: And completely disregarding anything personal, just from a game perspective, if you were to save me, I would be.. 100% loyal to you. And I would never falter from you.  Because I knew that you would be the one who saved me.  It would be all you.
Elissa: mm hmm
Amanda: So.. I mean..  If you want think about it.. Want to get back to me about it.. I don't want any false glimmers of hope..
Elissa: ok
Amanda: Just know that if you think about numbers, like next week, like, if you kept me here, I would be a huge target, it would keep you off the block during a double eviction and it would give you three times more opportunities to stay off the block, out of 5 people playing.. because all of us would keep you safe and not put you up.  So.. umm.. that's all.  Thanks for hearing me out. Is there anything you want to say, or not really?

Elissa: Well, I just feel like, Ginamarie and Judd would be forcefully gunning for me too.
Amanda: Ginamarie would be gunning after me.. (whispers) But you could also blame it on Judd.  No one would have to know that you were the one who was the swing.  I wouldn't tell anybody.. No one would ever imagine that you kept me over him.

OK.. Now Fast forward 2 hours.. Elissa's had some time to think..

12:40am

Amanda and Elissa

Elissa: I want you to stay.
Amanda: Are you serious?
Elissa: I swear to God.
Amanda: Are you serious?
Elissa: I am.. I feel like I trust you and McCrae more than I trust Andy and them. You think you can get Andy?  You have to swear to me that you would protect me.

Amanda: oh my God.. I feel like I was dying and you are saving me..
Elissa: Me, you, McCrae, Final 3
Amanda: Yes.  Swear to you.

Elissa: over Andy?  You guys would take me over him.  100%?
Amanda: You can hold on to anything of mine.

12:42am
Andy comes in.. Elissa tells him.. His reaction..

Elissa: I swear on my life.. I think we make a  better final 4..

Amanda: I would do anything for you.
Elissa: I feel more of a connection with you and McCrae.. I'm not drunk.
Amanda: I swear to you with everything..
Elissa: Do you think Andy will tell?

**Did that really just happen?  I could barely type I was so stunned. Make sure to watch it on flashback.  Here's the 2 day free feeds trial, if you need it.

To make this work Amanda needs to organize a girls night in HOH with GM and Elissa, and sell the hell out of a girls alliance. As we know, Amanda can be very persuasive.

Damn, it's fun not having any idea how things will turn out.

Great recap, Carolyn. It made what unfolded last night make so much more sense. It's that sort of objective coverage that has kept me coming back here year after year. You have no idea how refreshing it is to end up on a BB site where every headline isn't something like "Amanda is the worst human being in the world" or "BB has rigged the game and given Amanda a diamond power of veto".

I watched these live last night, and after reading your transcription, something just triggered with me. Andy told the whole house. I think, just based on sheer assumption from what we've seen so far with this game and these HGs, Andy is gonna get GOT, and Ama/McC/El are going to know he is the rat. OMG this is so very delicious and fantastic. Thursday just needs to get here already. ♥

So, I have a question ... do you think that Julie will question Amanda about her racist comments on Thursday night like she did Aaryn? I'm not defending Aaryn in the least, but it seems that Amanda is getting none of the negative attention that Aaryn did for the same type of comments.

Ah, conspiracy theories. What fun? My two cents, having watched (and read, THANK YOU) the conversations is this. If E went to DR after her convo with Amanda, it is certainly possible that she got some encouragement to consider Amanda's plea, not because Production wanted to save Amanda, but because they need some drama about an eviction that has been decided, early in the week. Now is the time when they're finalizing footage for Thursday, I would imagine. She could simply have been asked her reaction to Amanda's pitch, and either took it on herself to act on that basis, or, perhaps, she got a more substantial nudge to get her to consider the move, since Production would then have not only footage of Elissa talking in DR, but "action" on the feeds. I don't think Production cares whether Elisssa is successful or not. But she is useful to them, because seeds can be planted that she will water, for the benefit of the TV show.

I feel before Thursday Elissa would have come back to her senses and realize getting rid of Amanda is the most logical thing. And pull GM into a final 2 deal.

Elissa only has numbers if Amanda stays. A final2 with GM would be about as useful as a cup of water in a burning building

Nice clarity Carolyn. BB producers would be taking a huge risk thinking they could pull one over on the viewers, especially the 24/7 viewers.

There was a post in one of the comment sections recently that caught my attention regarding a person that felt compelled to contribute to what a yoganini (sp) is, and her personal experience via her daughter.
Good for you dear one, for influencing your child to follow her heart. You must be so proud, of yourself (I sincerely hope) and your child.
There is no longer a record that I can locate, (I’ve been searching to no avail) of your comment, or the other comments in a passive aggressive attempt to make you feel badly for your post.
Keep in mind that there are (count them on one hand) people who post in chat and on the blog that wait at the edge of their seat for someone like you to make a personal comment that they can rip to pieces.
Let not your heart be troubled, there are hundreds who refrain with respect for the Dish and Carolyn’s loving fingers.

I'm dying to know what Rachel thinks about all this...I checked her twitter and she has not commented on it, only about how they were talking about her nephew and that they should not be allowed to talk about an 8 year old. I def agree with her on that one...GM has some major verbal diarreah sometimes.

Amanda has been getting massive amounts of negative attention for her comments. It's all over twitter and you tube. I don't bother to check the other BB sites anymore because some of them are vicious but I was getting updates on Facebook from some BB groups. I don't know whether or not Julie will call her out, but she has definitely been called out by fans and viewers.

September 3, 2013 at 11:26 AM

Julie won't question Amanda about racist comments because they aren't part of the show. Many of the TV onlys believe that those sort of comments were made almost exclusively by Aaryn. Amanda, Spencer, and GM won't hear much about that in the same way that Kaitlin and Jeremy didn't. BB decided to make Aaryn the face of the negativity and that's likely where it'll stay. Remember, eviction interviews cater to the show; not the feeds.

melovebb

I don't know that getting rid of Amanda is the most logical move for Elissa. She might not know it yet, but she's the next target. Unless she wins HOH or veto on Thursday, she's gone. What Amanda said to her made sense. If McCranda are still around then they're just as big - if not bigger - targets than her. She needs to think ahead and not just for this week.

Good Morning Carolyn and Dishers...

Happy insane Tuesday and it is truly fitting. Here is my book... ;-)

Last night was very interesting to watch... I had decided to watch a movie and just turned the feeds on for a few... and there I see a very alert and thinking McCrae in deep conversation about game with Elissa. The rest of the house was napping. It went on for awhile. They brought up different end game scenarios and both seemed to fish for the other to say something about working together. It went on for a while.

Then, McCrae went in to check on Amanda, who was understandably upset... because she feels that NOBODY is fighting for her life in the house. McCrae asked her what she wanted him to do? She was upset because they were all talking about her as if she was already gone and she kept saying I am not gone yet - I AM STILL HERE. Again, she brought up how she put her own life in the house at risk for trying to save both Andy and Aaryn and this is what she now gets as a Thank You. It's really too bad she is still 'misted' by Andy, whose eyes seemed to want to pop out of his skull a few times during the evening from stress. Amanda also seemed to realize that if she is going to save herself... she would have to do it... McCrae knew Amanda would give it a shot and talk to Elissa.

A bit later, Amanda asks Elissa to talk and Elissa said sure. Both went into the colored room for privacy and Amanda explained, again, why she had done things in the house... which included the bullying and name calling of Elissa. She told Elissa over and over again, that she regrets that now because it seems that Andy does not have her back like she did his last week. She explained that the outrageous things said was to not have Andy put on the block. Elissa listened, more attentively than usual, and she said that so many people have crossed her boundaries in the house and that it was not OK. Amanda agreed and apologized for the umpteenth time... Elissa never apologizes for her mean girl words. Anyway, then Amanda brought up scenarios why keeping her in the house would be good for Elissa... and you could tell that a light bulb when off inside Elissa's brain. Let's face it... if Spencer is voted out... there will be only Andy and Judd to play for HoH that could be targeting Elissa. (Elissa was told by Amanda that Elissa was the next target by Andy, as well as Spencer). Amanda promised Loyalty and said that she values loyalty more than anything in the House and if she is saved... Elissa would be in a F3 deal with Amanda and McCrae. Initially Elissa mentioned she wanted a F4 including Judd, but later on when Andy popped in he became the fourth by default.

That conversation was a good thing to flash back to. After talking to Amanda, Elissa was called to the DR.

To be continued...

September 3, 2013 at 11:54 AM
Blogger Paula said...

And just before this conversation took place Amanda was lying in bed sobbing her heart out wanting to give up. It was pathetic to watch...and then she went to the DR and came out with both fists swinging. Amanda has been the chosen winner from the beginning. It is a conspiracy. Why would CBS allow a bunch of idiots to control the ratings, when they can do it. I am a total conspiracy believer. Have been send Season 2...

September 3, 2013 at 11:55 AM
Blogger Unknown said...

continued...

When Elissa came out from the DR, she asked to see Amanda in cockpit and it all rolled from there. Who knows what will happen Thursday... I would love for Spencer to be gone. Then Elissa win HoH and put up Andy with GM and hopefully Andy gone. That would be good game. Non predictable. I am sure the Producers want to keep both Elissa and Amanda in the house for the show. Without them... a snooze fest, sprinkled with dumb.

Not sure if any of this will work... but something good will come out of it. Elissa promised to give Amanda her wedding ring as collateral to show she was for real. If Amanda is voted out with that ring, due to Andy, McCrae knows who to believe and he would target Andy as well. I want Andy busted badly.

Then I want that ignorant and uneducated GM out as well. It will be so interesting to see how all those who have forgiven her bad prior behavior (and none was game, but personality) because she was aligned with Elissa will now turn on her again. I swear, fans are fickle, especially fans who love personalities more than they love the actual game and play. I belong to the latter. Nothing GM says surprised me... it is who she is. I hope she gets serious therapy out of the house or it may end bad... and I wish that on nobody but violent offenders.

PS. So many people on 'drugs' this year. Amanda mentioned she had not take Adderall since the HoH comp and not taking it makes her lethargic and less focused. She says she gets it partially for depression... I Googled it and it seems it is used that way too. She also mentioned that every fight she has had in the house had been on a day she was medicated because it 'pumps' her up (my choice of word).

That people also do Acid and all the other crap is beyond me... but then again, I never was into damaging my brain. Just look how well it worked out for the 2 people at the Electric Festival this past weekend in NYC. Molly this and Molly that and all the rest... Darwinism at its' best. Sorry, but I have little empathy (grew up around addicts).

September 3, 2013 at 11:56 AM
Blogger Jim H said...

Amanda is probably going to be back on a future BB so get used to her. Right now, the only thing that can save her is whether Elissa can convince GM or Judd to go along with the flip. Elissa has shown some intuition in the past and maybe she'll divine that Andy is going to double-cross her. In short, a pretty exciting week as this show goes.

I think Andy's enjoying his duplicitous role too much.

Andy just seemed too excited and self-important while he betrayed Elissa /McCranda to the drifters in the BY.

Maybe he's trying hard to prove that he can finally be loyal to someone in this game. Good luck on that, Andy.

I would love to see Spencer go this week.

I think Amanda's good and bad thing in this game is the same

LOYALTY.

She is very loyal and fights for those she is aligned with and this clouds her judgment because she thinks those people she fights for are the same... loyal, they are not. I think Andy will be known as the BB HGs with most alliances in one season. If he was loyal... this would be a breeze.

It is neither. It is simply Elissa's best move to stay in the house and she finally understood that last night allowing herself to listen to the 'enemy'. For once she played strategy and not emotions.

As for Conspiracy theories... keep those to overnight talk radio, Alex Jones', and Spencer and GM. There is no way in hell that BB can be rigged... because that would cause cancelation and major law suits because it is a game show and has to follow certain rules. I swear... people are bonkers believing anything on the internet. Use logic I say to them all. I am willing to bet my life on it.

Sorry not buying it. An emotional player like Elissa does not all of a sudden see the rationality of aligning with someone who has maligned her & her family without massive swaying from the DR - NO WAY!!! Plus, Elissa has shown no capacity for this type of strategic thinking all game (evidence from her HOH which also showed change of heart after DR visit). This is at the minimum major production interference.

CBS would be in BIG TROUBLE with the FCC if they rigged this show. Read up on the game show scandals of the 1950s. It is what set the precedent for the FCC rules for all game shows. It is not a theory. It is a fact. Amanda has been playing the game hard since Day One and there is no angle she won't try. I am not a faniof Am as a person but as far as game which is all I care about she is dong great! I also thnk Andy is a weasel but also brilliant because he has managed to make alliances wiuth everyone, lie his as off and tattles everywhere and still the other HGs like him! That is a skillful manipulatoir! Thanks Carolyn for your great work in keeping us informed with the facts! Happy BbHouse viuewing! From Another Carolyn

This Just In: Production should in NO way persuade the game. What is the difference between this and the Game Show Scandals of the 1950s, when millions tuned in to watch people who were fed answers? You say that's different, but it's really two sides of the same card. Back then, the "contestant" could have listened to their conscious and not gone along with it; today it's just more subtle. TV production and executive producers offering subtle remarks and hints to mice who have been inside a mouse trap for 70 plus days.

I'm sorry, but count me as one who believes if Amanda wins, there was help, and as one loyal BB watcher that won't watch BB16 and beyond. The only thing that keeps me from getting on the "conspiracy theory" bandwagon is I don't think Les Moonves would allow Julie Chen to go down with the Big Brother ship if all this were true, and exposed, and suddenly have to pick up the pieces of her career like Jack Barry did. Google him if you don't know him. It took him 15 years.

All "CT's" aside, this has been the worst season I've watched, period, going back to seasons 1, 3 and 9-14. The "no-floater" season is filled with flotation devices, Amanda will not be flogged by Chen like Aaryn was (and neither will Spencer), and Rachel's sister? Really? Can you not just give us 16 new, enthralling houseguests to get to know, to decide to love, hate or be indifferent to? No, instead we get family ties, reality TV wannabes from 2008 and the exposure of a poor job by a TV production crew when it comes to finding 16 people out of 300 million who actually don't care about the color of one's skin. This entire season has been far beyond disappointing. :(

Carolyn, thank you so much for your work! I had kinda switched off the feeds because it put me in such a bad mood....had shut down the chat b/c of the judgments there...wish everyone (and I mean ME too) could keep comments to gameplay not personal character or morality...I know how hard that is, and it is no fun to read attacks on HGs we like--it's like being attacked ourselves, even if we aren't. I went back to the thrills of the History Channel. :) But I was reading your updates and saw this and was so excited! So fun to get at least one more exciting play out of this season! Love the way you report these things! Tickles me to pieces! I never feel let down to listen to entire conversations either...can trust you to give the facts as they are.

I think Elissa came down from the high they all had nominating McManda--those who had not felt any power for a few weeks finally felt like they were in charge of the game--GM, Elissa, Judd. And Spencer and Andy were pulling their strings and had them dancing. Those 2 are very smart, if not likable. GM will believe the whole thing until her Britany moment. Not being a fan of the show has her at a serious disadvantage. The house now is made up of some very smart people, who can and can't win games, and GM (who isn't smart but can win physical comps), and Judd (who has been so burned and feels only revenge and fear). He can't trust his instincts now and is hurting. It is too bad.

Elissa just realized she had stopped playing Amanda's game to start playing for Spencer and GM (that's the button that got pushed this week--she never liked or respected them. If Amanda grossed her out, hanging with those 2 must have been a double gross-out. Maybe Elissa could tell the others have an alliance without her? There were too many reasons for her to jump this new program. She is much clearer in thought and speech this week....She was saying strange things and was pretty confused the end of last week. I won't presume to know why. Just that she is operating much stronger now. We cannot assume we know there is any influence beside self-protection. The others were planning her eviction already!

Andy won't do this tho--he thinks he can win over Spencer, GM, Judd, and McC, and was so sure he could get E and McC voted out, or be their best buddy if they won HOH. This plan messes up his boring little scenario. Hee hee hee! Spencer sitting on that BY couch like Tony Soprano has been painful to watch all summer for us women esp.

I still see one way for this plan to work: JUDD. Remember, he wanted an alliance with Elissa. He has reason to think a) he can trust her, and b) he can win with/against her. He was all up with Amanda out in the BY...trying to talk game...he knows what the scoop is with Andy--so he knows there's a 4th spot open in the alliance. He knows Elissa can't have a F2 with McManda....too many people. He must know there is something tight with Spencer and Andy--he was voted out once without having a clue those 2 were talking...and he has to see GM must look like a much better bet to them than he does for F3. Or F2.

These guys are all thinking like Elissa did--which pathway takes me closer to the money? F4 with a path to F2 with a kick-ass competitor like Elissa is way better than F4 with Spencer, GM and Andy--GM can win physically, Andy has a photographic memory, Spencer is way smart too and has won. Maybe he will jump. Just a thought watching him with McManda....

It will be very difficult to argue that the show is not rigged if Amanda wins. In that case, perception will be reality, even if the perception is wrong. The prominent conspiracy theories specifically stated that Amanda is the predetermined winner. Week after week she has exercised great influence while NOT ever actually winning HOH. Now, when she is the primary target for eviction with everyone except McCrae seemingly enthusiastic about getting her out of the house, her biggest rival comes to her rescue? Elissa's unexpected change of heart was revealed immediately following a diary room session. That alone is very suspicious. Further, while it is reasonable for Elissa to question how loyal GM, Judd, and Spencer are to her, why would she assume a desperate McCranda to be any more loyal? In fact, McCranda have already been plotting against Elissa in the event Amanda stays. Bottom line is that it is just illogical based on what is known (Elissa isn't sure GM/Judd are targeting her, or that McCranda would really try to protect her), bordering on making no sense at all. To be fair, houseguests have, in the past, made seemingly senseless moves. This one would trump them all, though, if Elissa doesn't make final 3 out of it. I hope Amanda goes this week...not over some personal hatred, I don't care that much....but because the credibility of the show is increasingly at stake, even if it isn't being influenced by production as much as it appears.
