BB10 Afternoon Report

12:04pm BBT
Dining/Kitchen
Just about everyone
The feeds came back on Hgs chatting about Boogie and how sad he was when Will wasn't there to answer his call in the DR. They moved quickly on to child tv stars...

Discussion moves to the days of the Kings and Queens of England and how the Church of England changed the bible to allow divorce. Libra's wondering why it's always the women who got beheaded.

Jerry gets quote of the day (so far) on the divorce/bible edit: "What a man wont do to get a piece of ass."

CUT TO:
12:17pm BBT
FISHIES! Come on BB... Let's do this.

12:45 Trivia!!!!

1:37pm BBT

Feeds Are Back!
Starting a New Post

OK.. While we wait, we need a waiting activity or 2. I'm not giving up hope that they'll show us some of the food comp on the feeds.. not by any means, but until then...

Hmmm... ok.. Here it is. A fw of the HGs were doing this outside last night, while the others were upstairs trashing them: Find something nice to say about each houseguest! Go! :) Here's a list for you to copy and paste into the comment section so you have all their names handy.
  • Jerry
  • Libra
  • April
  • Angie
  • Steven
  • Ollie
  • Michelle
  • Renny
  • Dan

ironic comment from Libra, wondering why it's the women that always got beheaded ... while over here on bbdish whilst talking about Libra and the reaction towards her leaving her children were wondering essentially the same thing in regards to parenting. why do women always get the short end of the stick?

From what I know (which is very little, I'm an archaeologist not a historian, there is a difference LOL) they didn't change the Bible. They just left the Catholic church so Henry could screw around and divorce whoever he wanted. BTW, men saw their fair share of beheadings.

Carolyn, also don't forget the mistranslations of the demotic Greek in the New Testament to Latin and then to Old/Middle/Modern English. I took Greek in college and grad school and the only thing I remember is "Pasko" which means "I suffer". A fitting term for BB! If I ever go to BB I think I would wear a shirt that said that!

Katie

The reason people are upset with Libra is the age of her babies... no man can breast feed. There is a reason mothers are the most influentual parent in the initial bonding of development. Nursing while comforted by the heart beat of a mother matters. That heart beat is a sense of comfort, because the infant has known it forever. This is not my personal or emotional opinion... it's years of psychological studies. Sure, there are situations when there is no choice and I guess each person has their own circumstance.

Later in life as you get closer to puberty, what matters is the same sex parent being absent or not.

We may not remember the first year of our lives... but this is big in making who you are.

For $500,000 I would leave and do this too. No one has any right to judge her for coming on this show. Especially people out there that don't even have kids. you would do anything for you kids, and if that means having a chance for this much money that would make a HUGE difference in your life, than you would take it too!

I don't judge her at all. She obviously married a man who knows what he is doing, and she has a mother/mother in-law who is there helping also. Who says she has to breast fee anyways? Not everyone is into that.

July 17, 2008 at 1:11 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

On the breast feeding issue... I would think that at five months she wouldn't be able to breast feed anymore. A lot of women can't breast feed that long.

I never breast fed... not every woman does. Maybe she didn't and that isn't an issue..

Tella, I agree to some extent. But, I must say that some cases a father is a better parent than the mother. And, not all mom's breast feed. Just saying that I know a few Dad's that are better at bonding and parenting than the Moms.

Like I said, personally I couldn't leave my kids, but I am all for 'to each their own'.

Come on games Carolyn :)

Shelly-
Libra may not breast feed and if she doesn't that is her choice and it would be a nonissue for her when the decision was made for her to go on BB.
However, I breast fed my first child for 19 months and my second for 17 months. They both weaned themselves when they were ready. I have also have many family members who breast fed their babies for well over a year.

As I said... this is not my opinion. And I do agree that many fathers are better parents than many mothers. I also think that two mothers or two fathers are qualifying as good parents.

The issue I brought up was based on studies in child development. It's also showing that children who breast feed are healthier over all... so the fact that this nation sees breast more as a sex symbol as what they initially were intended to is pathetic. And that last sentence is my absolute personal opinion!

Not a lot of thought here, just what jumped in my mind.

Jesse is very disciplined when it comes to his body.

April looks good in heels.

Angie looks great in a hat.

Michelle has some great pics on her myspace page -- can be very pretty.

Keesha has beautiful hair.

Jerry is very dedicated to his wife and wants to stay in shape to be able take care of her as her illness progresses.

Dan has gorgeous eyes.

Libra is very confident in herself.

Memphis is just plain gorgeous.

Renny is comfortable in her own skin.

Steven has a heart of gold deep down (enough said, don't want to be negative).

Ollie is a cutie.

Did I miss anyone? A lot of those were superficial, but gave it a stab.

Heres my little activity answers for the little game. I only thought of a few for some of the house guests it was actually kinda tough.

# Jerry: I like how Jerry is wise and old seems like he might be interesting to sit down with.
# Libra: In hearing her think about the question from last nights show she seems like she is a good mom thinking back on it in a different view prehaps.
# Renny: I like how Renny seems to be herself most of the time and if she feels something is wrong even though it isn't she speaks out about it.
# Keesha: Even if she is faking trying to get along with April, she is doing a good job of at least trying to.

sorry, this is a bit wordy....I really like all the guests this time...this is rare, each argument I could understand each side...from Jesse and Renny's argument and Keesha and April's...they are all so different and interesting, no one is boring so far...and I think Angie is a underplaying her beauty, she knows she's fierce, threatening and a natural beauty...she's the only one not spending most of the day applying make-up...bet she's gorgeous with 1/2 the makeup! I still really like Jerry...Libra could make it to final 3...my pick in final 3: Libra, Keesha and April

the only time limit for nursing is the one the mother makes. and maybe libra never did. it is a lot harder with two at the same time. i would think that is a non-issue with her.

Jerry - seems like he is who he is and wouldn't pretend to be anyone else - which is very respectable. Plus he seems very sweet, loving and genuinely kind.

Libra- seems like a very strong woman who wouldn't let someone walk all over her and would stick up for what she believes in .. which is wonderful!

April - seems like a smart, sweet girl.

Angie - very smart, genuinely kind and i think she is able to see the bigger picture of this whole thing - that it's a game and you just need to get through it and be okay with how you played it in the end. i can't wait to get to know this woman a little more.

Steven - i liked when he said something along the lines of "when it comes down to it, these are all genuinely good people" ... i thought that showed a different side to him.

Ollie - seems like a very nice guy who doesn't want to see people get hurt and can see both sides of a situation.

Michelle - tries very hard ... she seems like she just wants people to like her and would stick up for someone in a heartbeat.

Renny - such an original spirit! i love it! she truly does seem like a very kind, loving person though. great fun!

Dan - very loyal, soft spoken .. seems like a very strong spirit who would compromise himself.

Jessie - very healthy, strong young man.

Keesha - again, seems like a kind individual who truly doesn't like to get into fights, but will stick up for someone or something she believes in. all in all, i think she tries to remain positive.

Memphis - most under the radar in my opinion, very smart guy .. has the whole package .. they better watch out for him!! : )

What I think of the houseguests:

Jerry - Has good morals, and seems to be playing the game in true honesty. Thought he went back on his word to brian. I think he is a good family oriented person and is easy to relate to. Reminds me of of my grandpa.

Libra - I think she is very outspoken but tries to not be negative in how things are said. I think so far she is interesting to watch she loves to have fun and is dedicated to her family.

April- I think she makes a lot of assumptions and fits a girl who is stuck in her early teens. Her reaction to thinking Ollie was playing her with the crying was like are you kidding. She is beautiful and I think she will use her body to get her farther in the game.

Angie- I am kinda wondering why she got divorced. I think she is trying to fit in or belong. She doesnt quite fit with the girls, and gets attacked for supporting brian. Like from the views on tv the show just started the 13th, and its the 17th. She is pretty I think big brother only wanted busty girls this season.

Steven-I dont have a problem with gay men, or gays in general. I don't like the racist comments he been saying to people in the house. He is in no place to judge since he is different too. I wonder how people would react if it came out. I think his mouth is gonna get him sent packing just like brian.

Ollie-I am a fellow Minnesotan so of course I am gonna be cheering him on. He lives like 10 mins away from me. He is a great guy and in great shape. I think he will suprise people, just cause he is the preachers son doesnt mean he cant be a bad ass. I think he is cute with april, i hope it works out and he doesnt get hurt.

Michelle- I think she will eventually go off on someone. Her behavor regarding jessie is unapproipiate..she knew he is with someone and still tries. I dont respect a player who pushes it. I think she likes drama or will start rumors.

Renny- Reminds me of a roaring 20's actress. She is hard to understand and doesnt think before she speaks. With her age and personality she doesnt fit in well and stands out from the rest. I think she will stay around for awhile until she makes someone snap. But the comments she says to Jessie I think are immature.

Dan- I think he is a follower not a leader. He has let others make decsions for him. I think he is very alone in the house. I think it wasnt smart to instantly make an alliance with someone and then get found out about.

Jessie- Is attractive and a fellow midwestern so have to cheer for him too. For being the youngest he has acted very mature, and I think has handled the situation with renny well. Since he is young he isnt given the credit he deserves. I think his body wont be a disadvantaged. I think its great he shows that he si committed to one girl and that no one should mess with it.

Keesha- I am not a fan of hooter girls and i don't know why you'd be proud of it. It was pretty funny to see her go off on april. go girl. I'd be that way to if I was getting weird looks from another girl. And then to see ollie grab april like calm down.

Memphis- Is a bartender. Get over it. He is good looking looks like he belongs in a boyband. But seems to say one thing and do another. he doesnt voice his own opinions.

I think this season will be interesting but it is hard to get use to the new cast. I miss sheila.
