Late Afternoon in the Big Brother 10 House

3:25pm BBT
HoH Room
Steven & Jessie
Jessie tell Steven why he put him up.

Jessie tells Steven he had an equal chance to win both HoH and PoV. Basically, he had the chance, and he should have saved himself. Jessie's completely unapologetic about the situation and very matter of fact.

5:30pm BBT
Checking in.. There've been so many conversations happening so fast for the past hour, I'm just trying to keep up with who's rubbing who, who trusts who, and who's full of it.

Jessie trusts Keesha, and he's encouraging Michelle and Keesha to as well. Angie's working her way back in to Jessie and Michelle's trust, which is good, since she's solo otherwise. As alliances go, their 4 way seems to still be a secret.. bully for them.

I'm also working on some surprises... ;)

Spark up the feeds, folks. It's gettin' really good! :)

As of 5:47pm BBT, Steven and Keesha are in the backyard on the couch. Michelle comes out, and Steven jokingly encourages her to change her clothes out there. Talk turns to indecent exposure. Michelle's sure she's had plenty, and she's not troubled. Steven says it's kinda like him having to run to the loo with morning wood... It's gonna happen. Why trip?

The jacuzzi is being warmed up...

Renny is really growing on the other HGs, and not like fungus. They're all beginning to really dig her. All except Jessie, of course.

Martini1227 – earlier today you wrote that Michelle is giving Rhode Islanders a “Bad Name.” You are right. I was thinking the same thing last night.

Yesterday we were discussing Libra leaving her kids to go on the show. I was thinking that she must have a really sweet husband to be so supportive and so capable. I was wrong. You know, as well as I do, that there was no discussion on this subject. She told him what she was going to do and what he was going to do. End of discussion. Poor man.

Hello Carolyn. Love your work girl!

I find it interesting that people give Libra so much grief about leaving her kids but no one says a thing about Jerry leaving his wife who has Parkinsons. What's up with that?

Thanks for the prayers...keep em coming. Update: Dad's still in ER. Had CAT Scan. Right leg/arm still weak. Orders for MRI and Cataroid Exam to check for neck blockage. Will be admitted. (My Dad is a pastor in a quaint little town in MI...so the congregation is under a Full Force Comp!)

My 3 brothers live up there and are heading over in the morning to stay at the hospital with my Mom, who is reasonably calm...so that is good news!

Anyway...

Gaytor, your comments had me on my ass!! Totally agree!
Uh, Carolyn? How come you have the inside scoop on Bama's tush? And WHY is he not sharing? Life is SO cruel. (He really needs to quit tormenting us with his luscious photos!!)

And The Crock Flock? I just don't know what to say about those girls! It's so painful...like a carwreck...you just stay riveted and appalled at the same time!!

Steven was sooo right in this clip! Whoever gets put up on the block will have to sit in the corner because anyone who tries to talk to them will get chastized...HOW IMMATURE ARE THESE PEEPS!! I feel sorry them...

Ok, I'm offically off Jessie "Meat Head" bandwaggon. So, let me get this straight.

Team Meat Head
Jessie
Michelle
Angie
Memphis

Team Emotional Outburst
Libra
Ollie
April

House Floaters
Dan
Keesha
Renny
Jerry

Steven's going home so he doesn't count unless someone wises up and needs him for their alliance.

Will Team Meat Head or Team Emotional reach out to any of the floaters or will they leave them for the other side to pouch.

Dan has proven his loyality. Keesha is a flake. Renny doesn't realize this is a game and Jerry is the wild card.

I know all this will change before Wednesday, but I have a feeling things will get flushed out this weekend and the house will explode.

I was starting to think that this cast was going to be boring, but when everyone finds out the secret alliances.....BOOM, everything is going to fall like a house of cards.

My favorite BB seasons are when we the feeders are shocked by an alliance or betrayal. To that extent it would be great to see Libra turn her back on her group and team up with Angie or something along those lines. That would make for great TV.

This is the Message from Libra's Hubby on the MySpace Page:

Hello to all and welcome to Libra's MYSPACE page! I am her Husband, and Father of her three children, Scott. I will be administrating this page for her while she is away on the show, BIG BROTHER.

Libra and I talked about getting this up before she went on the show, but BIG BROTHER doesn't give you much time to prepare; and obviously with the logistics of our household, a MYSPACE page wasn’t very high on our list of priorities.

I’m also not sure exactly how much I will posting here for two reasons... 1. I respect my wife and her right to speak for herself, and present herself in the manner that she sees fit. 2. There are a lot of individuals who will utilize any scrap of info on her for their websites, blogs and other exploits.

Therefore the information provided here will be limited. That being said, on behalf of Libra, let me thank you all for your kind words of support as we embark on this crazy ride.

As for those who have already begun to criticize Libra for her decision to leave her children to be on BIG BROTHER I have a few words for you all...

Firstly, Libra and I made this decision together. I have encouraged her through every step of this process.

Our reason is simple, a 1 in 13 chance at $500,000.

Libra is the best Mom in the world and she is instrumental in all of our children’s lives’. However, we felt as a family that the rewards far outweighed the risks for her to be on this show.

Our children are very well cared for. I have always been very hands on with all of my children. Our children attend an exemplary Montessori day care due to my wife's job requirements, and did so before this show even started.

Additionally,My job gives me tremendous flexibility, allowing me to be available for anything my kids need. I'm in outside sales so I set my own schedule.

Libra's Mother lives less than 5 minutes from us, and My Mother is about 10 minutes away. They are also very much a part of helping take care of our kids, more so than ever now that Libra is going to be gone for a while.

Our childrens' daily routine has been unchanged since Libra left for the show because Libra would have never been on the show in the first place if it would have disrupted their lives.

Of course my 4 yr old daughter misses her Mom, so do I, like you wouldn't believe; but this was a once in a lifetime chance, and after lots of deliberation and planning we decided not to let it pass by.

Keep in mind Libra went to an open audition more for kicks than anything else, she was interviewed for less than 2 minutes, in a room with seven other applicants, and probably 1000 people tried out that day.

They picked her and then she went through over a month of additional auditions each time she made the cut. We just went along with it. Its not like she could have done this at another time. Carpe Diem!

So what if Libra misses a few feedings and dirty diapers and a soccer game or two for a very good chance at lifetime of security for those same kids.

We decided it was well worth it.

We feel that the general resentment of her decision to compete on BIG BROTHER is ridiculous.

Would anyone question the decision if I were going on the show instead of Libra? I don’t think so.

We don’t live in the 1950's anymore.

This is a new era and no one should judge her for trying to win a competition that could secure her children’s future. I assure you that Libra isn’t playing for fame.

Libra has always been a fun gregarious and absolutely beautiful woman. What you see is how Libra is every day. If fame is a byproduct of this, great, but she is in it for the cash and for her family.

If Libra was trying to be famous, she wouldn’t be at her desk in front of her computer doing her job every day.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and she went for it to benefit us. Libra has never tried out for any type of show.

She has always done the right thing, going to school, staying out of trouble etc... I felt she deserved this once in a lifetime chance to do something great.

In other words people stop hating and start celebrating.

It’s a new day, a new time, and change is on the way. ( In more ways than one- Go Obama!!)

Also please know that while she is a strong supporter of the Senator, as am I, she is trying to win a game, not an election. She isn't going to look for the political joust that everyone expects.

Thanks again to all of her supporters. Let’s get ready for a great season of BIG BROTHER 10. Hopefully we will see you at the finish line.

Take care and God Bless.

Lauren -

Jerry's wife is an adult and is not in serious enough condition that she can't take care of herself. Also, there are numerous kids and grandkids living nearby to support her. He addressed that on the feeds the other night.

It's hardly the same thing as 5-month-old babies and a 4-yr-old without their mother.

Jerry's wife is an adult who is fully supportive of what he's doing and understands why he is gone.

I don't have as strong an opinion as some folks about Libra leaving her family, but I thought I would address your question anyway, since nobody else did.

I like Libra's husbands point of view. No know would question anything if a father left his three kids to win money for the family. Them being a Obama supporter is just icing on the cake. I agree with 100%. I just think that if we are going to judge the actions of one houseguest we can spread it around a little. Too much Libra hate over this issue.

We could talk about half of them being recruited and not trying out. We could talk about Steven & Jessie being there for fame.

Libra seems to get the brunt of the ridicule and as I said in an earlier post, I like them all and try to defend them.

I think focusing on their gaming is far more productive than focusing on their actions prior to becoming a hg.

Thank you Carolyn.

That post from Mr. Libra was very informative. As I said before on the issue, I have no problem with leaving the children in good hands. And I KNOW I don't remember anything that happened in my life between 5 and 8 months. I just don't like her game play and feel it is the real her, very controlling. Some things you just can't leave at the door when you enter this game.

And now. Going back to the previous comments before this section....

Genie Sea, thank you for all the extra eye balls. I love rolling my balls around and spares are always appreciated. :P

natvtxn: Glad I was able to make you smile. I know how hard that is in a stressful time. (and I always appreciate when someone can laugh at the way my mind works... when it does.) I'll be at a Church all day tomorrow as a poll commissioner and I'll light a candle for your dad.

Doesn't look like I have missed anything. I took a dinner break. Now I'm not sure how long I'll hang in here tonight. Tomorrow is an election day and that means 17 hours of sitting at the polls, and NO computer. But it's the $200 I am most interested in, just in case I have to pay that damn ticket.

Jessie could care less.

What an @ss. They should have got rid of him when they had the chance. Given his physique and strength, what were they thinking?
None of them have a chance to beat him in the endurance comps.

Unfortunately, I think they'll keep Libra around a long time because she won't be getting jury votes at the end. As for her leaving her infants, dumb move. Any psych will tell you that the first year is important for the parents, especially the mother to bond with the babies. So, if she wins, she may end up spending the cash on therapy fees instead of college tuition.

Having watched all the interviews, don't care much for the rest of them, except Angie. Doubt she'll last long though. The other women are jealous of her popularity with the men.

I'm hoping they'll bring back Brian. He's smart and funny and not too hard on the eyes. Not gonna happen though. :(

The difference is that Jerry's wife is fully aware to make her opinion known and having Parkinson can be costly and this is what he wants to win the money for... future care. Also, it's not like a woman in her later years can be compared to the most significant time in a child's life... the first year of development.

However, if a mother thinks that losing three months of her infants' progress that is her perogative... even if her personality will make her NEVER win that money. IS $9000 in Stipend really worth it? If the child was a bit older... not a biggie in many people's POV.

Oh... I read "Mr. Libra's" comments in your note, Carolyn. Thanks. I have to say he is very defensive and if this is the change to believe in... count me out. Sorry... had to go there. I guess Libra never breast fed and YES...

I am judgmental on that issue. Me bad, but honest. Good thing I am not in the house... I'd last about as long as Libra. Maybe not because I am a control freak (I am not), but I would probably not be able to shut up and get sent packing sooner than not.

Also, I realize I may have clouded judgment because I grew up in a society where all women and men had a chance to bond with their children with full pay. A place where children actually are put first.

FYI...

Where I came from children always get more time with parents... due to 5-6 weeks paid vacation annually and due to Parental Leave: "For families with children
Parental benefit -
If you have children, you are also entitled to parental benefit if you give up gainful employment in order to look after them. Parental benefit is payable for 480 days for children born in 2002 or later and for 450 days for children born before 2002. The days of parental benefit are always shared equally between both parents. "

I guess that at least you get something for the taxes you pay.

Thanks for posting the comments from Libra's husband. I find it kinda funny tho that everyone "assumes" there is a lot of hate out there for Libra because of her decision and lots of defending it. But, I have not heard any of that hate. I have heard questions around it, but just about every comment I have read (here and other sources) is about how it's her decision.

Yes, there is a lot of Libra hate out there, but it's because of her behavior on the show.

It's kinda funny ... we do this every year. Forget that it's just a game and that we don't really know any of the HG's outstide the house, what there reason is for being there, but try to suppose lot's of things and blur the lines of who they are with how they are playing the game. It's just a game!
