Some Food for Thought.
There has been a lot of discussion raging in the comments about Jeff and his game play, and people have been jumping off his bandwagon in droves. Without taking sides, I would like to take a minute to analyze Jeff's game play.
The game through Jeff's lens:
1 - When Russell was on the block it got back to Jeff that Russell was trying to get Jeff on the block next to him.
2 - Russell voting to evict Natalie for whatever lofty reason he gave, showed disloyalty to the person who just took him off the block (Jeff).
3 - Russell was caught making F2 deals with Michele and saying he would put Jeff up which he has admitted to.
4 - Russell did keep his word to Jeff about putting up Ronnie, however it suited Russell's game to get rid of Ronnie and when the whole blow-up with Chima and Michele happened, Russell said he regretted putting up Ronnie instead of Michele. This, too, got back to Jeff.
5 - Natalie and Kevin have been hiding behind Jessie, then Chima, and Lydia. They have had minimal contact with Jeff, and now can easily pull of the loyalty and honesty cards. Though Jeff sees that, he thinks he has them where he needs them and that they are not capable of winning HOH. (mistake) They would not have been able to pull off the LML if there was no actual truth in it.
6 - Michele has bungled conversations and has made the mistake of making the wedge in the alliance bigger by throwing Russell under the bus to Jeff and Jordan which she did again today despite her promises not to. Jeff sees Michele getting closer to Russell and he does not want to give the only other remaining Alpha Male in the game any allies. Granted, Michele has been totally loyal to them in her actions. He doesn't see that and has relegated her to pawn in his game. (unfortunate)
7- His closest ally, Jordan, has been in his ear non-stop about Russell and Michele for her own reasons. She after all wants to make it to F2, so she must knock the other two out. She as said as much that she thinks Jeff might not choose her over Russell (and probably in her mind) Michele for F2 despite his assurances.
8 - Jeff has a target on his back the size of Antarctica. He has, for all intents and purposes, been HOH for four weeks. (Two weeks with the Coup D'Etat, Jordan's CoHOH, and now this one). If that doesn't make him a threat to everyone's game in the house, what does? Jeff knows perfectly well that they are all gunning for him with the exeption of Jordan (and I have my doubts on that as well). Russell is more of a threat to get HOH than Kevin/Natalie whom Jeff considers weak players.
Given those and only those facts, what option does Jeff have?
Having said that, I want to qualify that I am in no way supporting one player in this game (and that includes Jeff) more than others. I like some more than others, and I like some people's strategy more than others'. And it really doesn't matter who anyone supports. It's all good. It's all game. It's all Big Brother!
Cheers
Genie :)

Wow, spot on Carolyn. That's everything I've been thinking over the past few days. Let's just hope Jeff can see the light in the next few days or otherwise be evicted.
Another thing I noticed was that I thought Jeff had a lot of influence on Jordan last week, but this week Jordan has been able to spin anything the way she wants and is automatically accepted a full truth by Jeff. Interesting. If only Russell could expose Natalie and Kevin.
Good Eveing Genie
Great points in this post,
I really enjoyed reading it, See yas at showtime!
Traverse - This one's allll Genie :)
And I think it's a great post too! :)
Oh sorry, Great job Genie. :)
Thank you Traverse And Lynn! :)
Thank you Carolyn for letting me post this :)♥
oooh, Genie!!! that's why Carolyn, and us, dishers, are so lucky to have you. you, just like you mentor, put everything in perspective.
i do understand Jeff's gameplay(paranoia) but sometimes words coming out of his (potty)mouth makes me uncomfortable. i, sometimes, cannot reconcile the Jeff i grew to really, really like pre-power trip days, to the Jeff i hear now. but i still ♥ him. as for Jordan...
Well said Genie.
I have decided I am not going to think about what everyone is doing and just enjoy the game.
Hey All, great post Genie! I will add that the one problem Jeff has is that he is way too trusting of Jordan and not of his own gut feelings, which would probably serve him better. He has questioned Nat's drinking, etc. a few times and if brought up in DR would probably help him this week with his so called 'never lying' Nat.
Just my opinion. I am just more frustrated in the not seeing the lies that anything else. At this point, in reality, I don't really have a favorite to win. Think that if Nat and Kevin make it to the finals, they deserve it for J/J falling for all the lies and not trusting their instincts. But that is just my gut. Like you said, either way, Jeff is target. Think he will feel like fool when he finds out just how fooled he has been though!
Great post Genie and Spot ON!☺
Great post Genie!
I still want Jeff to win this game. I can only imagine the pressure that he is feeling (hence paranoia).
I HOPE he is playing everyone in this game, trying to spin anything he can to his advantage.
I really want to trust him, but then ... it's only Sunday!
Genie, You are so right. I was ready to jump off the bandwagon. Thanks for making Jeff's game more clear to me. I'm still upset with Jordan for turning her back on Michelle for Nat, but I don't know what I'd do if I were in that nuthouse we all call Big Brother.
Nice Post!
it's just what drew me to them, what made them stand out as the Down to earth good guys,& made us want to root for them,is getting lost.
I still wanna see jeff in the final 3,I think he played & deserves that.
Jordan & Nat can go suck an egg together as far as I'm concerned.
And thanks for giving me the challange to say what I feel, using my big girl words lol
it is not easy AT ALL ;p
Wow! How thorough and insightful!
Jeff really has to get rid of Russell now. Unless Jordan wins the next HOH he is screwed!!! Everyone has him as public enemy #1, and he has figured that out. He knows for him to make F2 with ANYONE, he must get through next week. His best odds are with Russell gone. I just hope he realizes that EVERYONE left in that house is now lying, not just Russell and Michele. He is giving Kevin and Natalie too much credit for being honest and not enough for being HOH-competition capable...
MANY MANY MANY valid points...great...amazing...post. I still love Jeff, and I guess Jordan too, but I'm so frustrated right now with them with this whole Natalie thing...blerghhhh
Again, Thank you for the post!
I fell asleep for 3 hours lol!
So I wanna say ty to everyone that answered my
Are Your Sorry You Gave Jeff The Coupe D'Tate Question.
Everyone was sayin no more Jeff and Jordan. And hoping others win. Only reason I threw it out there was to ask if you all regretted it .... and no one did! So see... were not really that far off his bandwagon! Theres still hope!
But.. then again.. I took a three hour nap and I havent a clue what happened in that amount of time lol.. so Im going catch up right now!!
Good Evening Everyone!!!!
I just wanna why they are so damn mean & hateful now?
paranoia,I get,Mean & nasty? no,you are in power, you have it all right now.do what ya gotta do.But shut your nasty hateful mouths. Why the hate? so they can feel better & justified for backstabbing their allies?
there is a way to play this game with some class,& still be playing the game.
Jeff used to have that,he doesn't anymore imo
*shrug*
I want to see jeff and Jordon bite the big one, a deal is a deal. nat and Kev, were not part of the deal,
Jnor J dont have a chance any 1 in the jury house, I wish they'd have and American vote right about no, I'd give it to R or M,
Jeffs vular empty threats have turned me against him as well as Gordo's "stabbin em with a knife threat" as well..
All the Jeff hate lately has been pretty odd. We'd all be doing the same thing (questioning Russell) if we knew only what he knew. Jeff has played a great game and deserves to win. If that means Russell has to go this week, then so be it. If Natalie or Kevin win HOH next week and Jeff goes home, then maybe sending Russell home was a bad idea. Considering that Michele has won and HOH and two (almost 3 Vetoes), and Jordan has an HOH and Veto (debate the reasons she won them all you want, she still got them), I like Jeff's chances next week without Russell.
great post, Genie! (and don't feel bad, Traverse, I was just about to post to Carolyn, too! You ladies are so in sync!)
Unfortunately, I don't think the 4-some (j/j/m/r) can be repaired at this point - too much back and forth lately. And I agree with you, Genie, about Jeff's game play. I'm still wondering about Jordan's. One minute I think she's naive, the next I think she might be actually 'getting' it and setting herself up, subtly, to go to the end without Jeff. I just can't believe she's really buying all the Natalie friendship stuff right now. I have a feeling she's trying to use it to her advantage, and it might work! I'd love to see her win HOH again. Then we might get a clue where her head really is.
I don't fault Jeff's gameplay or anyone else's. I happen to think whoever wins should win because, well, they wouldn't win if they didn't do the best! There's skill and the ability to adapt and a lot of it is luck. (Probably the only one unable to adapt to the CDE to the extent she did, was Chima But she also was unlucky to have been the HOH at that point.) As far as Jeff and Jordan are concerned, I simply do not like them as much as I did before. So I don't care as much whether they win or lose.
Genie Sea = Awesome sauce
and I agree with "someone" (@4:06pm).
That said, looking forward for another installment of my favorite summer guilty pleasure Big Brother.
Genie - This was terrific. Thank you for putting into words so eloquently what I have been thinking. I feel like I have been banging my head against the wall trying to make my point the last couple of days.
May the best player win. I personally am still hoping it is Jeff.
So well said, Genie and so true!!!!
Well said Genie!
From each and every one of the people who comment on here I have gotten a different take on the game in some way or another, and have even changed my mind a few times about how I am thinking. Thats what is so great about this site.. You don't get bashed or called terrible things for having an opinion.
I'm still all about Michele my Belle, and if Russ goes this week, I really hope Jeff follows..
If Nat and/or Kevin get to the end and win... they played a hell of a game!
Great post Genie! Exactly what I have been thinking also.
I've not been commenting much lately because every one seems to be bailing on J & J. We need to keep in mind that we have NO idea what it's like to be in that house.
People need to remember that Jeff doesn't see ALL that we see. He is going after Russ for several reasons, but mostly because Russ wants him out and is capable of winning the comps.
Both Russ and Michele have been caught in several lies. AND, being this close to the end, he wants to do what will get him (and Jordan) to F2.
Nat has won nothing and it's doubtful Kevin would win Endurance. Russ and Michele have both won comps.
IMO, Jeff is looking at this clearly. Do I agree with everything he has said? No, but I feel the same with ALL the HG's.
As Jun has said, the stress in that house is mind boggling. And I bet it gets worse the closer to the end you get.
Besides, I can't imagine how all this negativity effects Carolyn and Genie. I can logoff, but they can't.
I love this site and the great family here, but there haven't been as many $hits and giggles lately and that's sad!
Good Evening BBDishers!
Ready for the Sunday show! Tonight we will be serving Raspberry mojitos!
Still on team Jeff as I was looking at things very much like Genie posted! I'm willing to chip in on the banner plane to give the boy a heads up!
Cheers!
Bec
Hi all....
I love your analyzations Carolyn.
Heres what I think:
Jeff has been "technically" HOH for alot longer than Jessie and his crew were. And Jeff felt they were in power way too long...needed to "feel the pain,"
and open the game for everyone to have a chance.
Jeff is upset with Russell and Michelle for bad mouthing him, and making a F2 deal, but he did the very same thing. He has been bad mouthing both of them, and he has a F2 deal with Jordan, which he has made no secret of.
Natalie has been lying her pants off this entire game. She did hide behind everyone. With Jessie, she was calling most of the shots, not Jessie. He might have thought he was, but we know better. Now she is making a fool out of Jeff. He honestly believes that next week, Natalie will vote with them to get out which ever one they want.
Michelle has been playing both sides but she has stayed loyal to team J/J when it came to the vote, every single time, which may be Russell's undoing. Jeff can't forget about that Jessie vote. Russell thought he would prove to all that he keeps his word.
I just don't want to see Natalie win, I don't care about the rest of them. She has not had a loyal bone in her body the entire game, and could care less about any of them. That may be the way to win, but I still believe that I wouldn't sell my integrity for any price. I could lie, but I don't think I could fabricate a lie that was the direct reason for someone going home. Couldn't look myself in the mirror after that.
This is my hope....
Every time Jeff said he was going to get Russell out, when it came right down to it, he didn't.
He said he was going to back door him last week, and didn't. Then he said he was going to put him up, then didn't. Now I'm hoping that he will vote to leave the noms the same.
**lacey**
sorry Genie...thought that was Carolyn.
**lacey**
Your post Carolyn is by far the best blow by blow for Jeff Ive seen yet. Its does make sense.
Thou Im not sure we are giving Jordan her due. When she had HoH I could at times hear the wheels spinning and some of what she said you could tell she was thinking ahead.
JMO, Im not too sure Jordan's final 3 and possible 4 include Jeff at all. Either by her own doing or anothers, I dont think she will think twice about voting Jeff out. My thoughts are this could be why she is allowing Nat to smooze up to her and spinning things differently to the others. Jordan can use it to her advantage at a later time in the game for sure. Again.. JMO.
I'm Bacccckkkkkk!
I'm all ready for tonights show too!
Genie - thanks for putting things back in perspective!
wow very good
i was having to stop listening to the feeds. I know rus is going home I never liked him but I did that Ronnie bye bye week. I have always liked J/J
I can see how they may think its a good thing
an maybe Jordain an Michell will get hoh an boom we would be ok
Maybe j/j/m will still be final 3 an if not well
I liked Nat at the begging but she teamed up with ron che an Jessie an i hated her then on.
Genie, I want to sincerely thank you for this.
For whatever reason, I have felt the need to defend Jeff and Jordan's actions over the past few days as person after person has bailed on them.
At one point, it just got to where it was like I was banging my head against a wall. (Except for MsFitz, Meg, ltcmek, Christy in FL, and anyone else I'm missing who have been desperately hanging on to J/J.)
Everything you pointed out is what I've tried to touch on in my defense of them. If I put myself inside that house, I can see a justification for everything that Jeff and Jordan have done or plan to do. Because they are playing the game. I don't think they have turned on their personal morals and/or beliefs, they are just playing the game.
I feel bad for Russell and Michele, because I have a feeling that they are the ones that are going to suffer for the lies that Natalie and Kevin have told, in addition to their own lies.
Natalie, I think, is the most skilled liar I've ever come into contact with. I can't fault her for that part of her game play. And until those lies are exposed, I have a feeling she's going to sail right through to the end.
Up until the coup d'etat was put into play, I was waiting and hoping for Jeff and Jordan to finally step up their game play. In my honest opinion, they have. And I for one am ecstatic about it. I'm thrilled that they have been non-stop gaming since Jeff got the coup d'etat. I think Jeff knows that he's a target no matter who's up in the HOH (besides Jordan). So while he's in power, I would be doing the exact thing he is potentially going to do and get Russell out. Based on the 6 left, who has won more competitions. It hasn't been Natalie. Kevin has one POV under his belt. Russell and Michele have both won HOH and POV comps. So out of those two, who would you get out? In my opinion, Jeff is closer to Michele than he is Russell. So I feel like strategically the best option to get someone out, would be Russell.
For those that don't think Jordan is as sweet as she lets on. I urge you to flashback to week 1 when the feeds went live. Back to when Lydia and Jordan were BFF's. Jordan did as much talking about the other HG's as she's done this week. I've known she had that in her since the feeds went live. So her talking about Russell and Michele now does not surprise me. And as Genie pointed out, she has some insecurities that Jeff will actually take her to Final 2. I don't blame her one bit for trying to cast doubt on them. It's her game play.
Anyway, that's what I've got to say about it. I've been lurking today. I really can't take all the negative comments about Jeff and Jordan. Some have been about true hatred for them, which I don't understand in the slightest, but to each his own.
I would like to extend my apologies to Chima and Ronnie fans if anything I've said about your favorite has made you as frustrated as I have been these last few days. I can see now that it wasn't easy to see people's negative reactions to your favorites. I'm sorry if I ever made you uncomfortable.
Carolyn -
Haven't read any comments in this post yet, but that is why starting last night I have been limiting my comments.
It is a game after all, and I am looking at it as such. To get so excited and aggravated about each individuals game play has gotten to be ridiculous. We are not in their shoes or in their heads.
You all do a great job of keeping us informed and the comments are usually fantastic.
I come here for escape and enjoyment.
psst :)
New Top Post!
awww I made 2 or 3 posts to this & none of them are showing?
Hey GenieSea -
Didn't know it was your post but I totally respect your point of view.
Like I said, it's a game and I am going to enjoy it as such.
Let's see if I can comment today... Nope..have to change my password...grrrrrr
Hi everyone...5 people got swept out to sea at Acadia National Park today...so sad...people need to stay away from big waves...they were huge...coast of Maine...My thoughts are with their families..
Awesome post Genie! You said it all, all by yourself!
Hiya Everyone! Hope your Sunday was a good day!
holy shit i just realized your name is genie! me too!! :)
You're like the first person I've found with the same name and spelling. (if that is in fact your name)
Funny how I get sooooo frustrated with Kevin between shows.
Then see his DRs and the love comes right back. He's soooo funny and endearing!
I'm still on team Jeff/Jordan, even though they've been pissing me off lately. I won't argue that getting Russell out is probably a good move to further their game, but it's how and why they're doing it that's getting on my nerves.
OH Genie,
Thank you for making me feel better and making everything I was thinking more clear. One other thing about Jeff backdooring Russell is that they are expecting an endurance comp probably next week...Jeff can't play and he feels llke Jordan or Michelle would stand a better chance against K/N. I have to agree:) However I was totally in love with J/J and lately I am getting a little salty on Jordan. She is being really controlling towards Jeff and has a real snotty attitude towards Michelle and Russell while making nice with the two wolfs in sheeps clothing.! Jordan is wondering why Michelle and Russell are acting moody...If she would come off of her pedestal for a moment to realize SHE is the one giving them the cold shoulder. I mean seriously Jordan, think about it...who else are they supposed to talk and what else are they supposed to talk about, should they walk around mumbling to themselves and live the next few weeks all alone while the others have atleast someone to talk to! They (J/J) are secluding themselves and being overly friendly with the enemy. As far as Michelle and Russell having a f2, both J/J are being hypocritical. They have f4, f3 & f2 deals??? On a more personal note, I am a hopeless romantic and wanted to see J/J end up together...not so much any more. Jeff is an incredible guy (deep down), he may say some off the wall things some times but I can tell it is sarcastic and not really with malice. Jordan would be lucky to have him. I think Jordan is probably a great girl too, but her attitude and power trip are really unbecoming!
There...I am off my soapbox and ready for the OLD J/J sweetness.
I really like Jeff - and especially how through most of the game I'd be screaming something at my computer and then all of a sudden he says the exact same thing.
Jeff - until he was co-HOH - was looking at the game exactly how it should be looked at. But now, I think the power has gone to he and Jordan's heads. He's now exhibiting the same qualities that he hated about the Team Jessie Alliance. Hypocritical much?
Alas, Jeff is still my favorite. However, I really wish they would stick to the final four plan between J/J/M/R because if not Natalie just might wind up in the finals.
I could not agree with this post more. The turning on Jeff is making my blood boil. I just don't know what people expect him to do here. Watching Russell just agreeing that Jeff will be making the right move if he puts him up speaks volumes.
There's no way I could watch the feeds without Jeff still there. Everyone else is boring and he's hilarious, in addition to being a great game player. The Anti-Jeff'ers are taking his sense of humor and sarcasm and flipping it on him, when before it was one of the reason he was so loved.
I can't tell if people are turning on him because he wants Russell out, he's paranoid, or he's straying from trusting Michelle?? Hopefully people will take into consideration how insanely paranoid Russell was when he was hoh (the "literature argument" anyone?), and how he thinks with Russell out it will solidify their alliance with Michelle. In addition, Russell himself just said in the diary room that if Jeff didn't get rid of him now he wasn't playing a smart game...
So to that I say, Team Jeff all the way!!!
Brav THE FUCK O!
Excuse my french... I'm not sure if that will be edited out, but Genie, that was one damn good post.
Russell talks alot which gets him in trouble, but his actions should let Jeff know what to do. Russell has stuck to his word every chance he has been given - voting to keep Casey, not putting J&J on the block, putting up Ronnie. He never said he would vote to evict Jessie if taken off with the Coup. Looking at the game, Russell should be trustworthy enough to know he'll stick with F4.
Natalie has also proven to stay true to her word, but it's never benefited Jeff like what Russell has done has benefited Jeff. I'm surprised Russell didn't think to spin his blocking Kevin in the HOH Comp as a way to give the HOH to Jeff. Woulda helped
Oh and just like a lot of other people, Jowdan has gotten more paranoid with the power than anyone this season. I know that's what HOH does to you, but man she has taken it to a new level :) At one point, you just have to trust your decision (even if I think it's the wrong one like taking out Russell - you're throwing away a jury vote if you backstab him)
In that case, we can say these things about all the other hg.
If it were Russell threatening to find and hurt Jeff and Jordan's family, will it be good game play? Will it be passed off has paranoia?
I get what your saying but every hg have their reasons for the things they do and the things they say. One is no more "justified" than the other.
I have seen hg get beat down by fans all season long for the things they do and say, no one cared. Now that Jeff is getting some of the heat, "special" post are being made about it. I do not get it???
I am not being confrontational or rude. I am really wondering why Jeff get a whole post dedicated to his negative behavior?
I know this post was said it was not done in showing favoritism towards Jeff but coming from someone who does not have blinders on, it does seem that way.
It's okay if Jeff is your fav, but that does not excuse what he is doing in the house.
Anyone can use the paranoia card for any of the hg...that is all I'm trying to say.
Thank you everyone :)
Cynthia - It's all about his gameplay. His words not so much. :)
Pamela - Good thinking :)
Red - Agreed on Jordan.
ltcmek - Time will only.
Dabugd - I feel for Michele.
MnM - LOL! You're right. There is no need to be mean or nasty.
Julius - He is not in a very good postion going into next week for sure.
Becca - Yes. It is very frustrating. Natalie is just good a manipulator :)
Tallen - The jury usually votes for game play over personality. Depends who is sitting in F2 and who they perceive has played the better game. :)
Hokie - He can only try to give himself the best odds at surviving next week. :)
Dineane - I think we will see Jordan's hand when it's her against Jeff on the block. :)
Nnew - I hear you :)
Mo - lol@ awesome sauce :)
MsFitz - I have been seeing you banging your head against the wall lately and it has been difficult to watch :)
Katieblue - Hope our geekette survives this upheaval :)
Marci - Welcomer back to the comments! :) I missed you :)
Lacey - I don't know... He seems pretty set on it as of now :)
Sunny - I tend to agree about Jordan. :)
Wendy - :)
Tiffany - It's funny. None of my early favorites followed through for me. lol :)
Genie - lol Hiya! Yes, Genie is my real name hahaha :)
Dambram - I believe that's "Hailey" not Jordan lol :)
Syn - You're welcome. :) I saw you struggling and it was kind of heartbreaking.
Tapestryln - Jeff is displaying a lot of arrogance right now. The thing we all did not like about Jessie.
I agree with a lot of what you said Genie. The more I think about it the more it is coming clearer and clearer to me that Jordon really isnt on Jeffs side. To me it seems like she is having Jeff play for her, playing her game, not his. I feel that Jordon has been playing Jeff at least the last couple of weeks. I think it is her actions. I dont think she feels the same way about him as he does about her.But they are cute together. I think Jeff needs to stop listening to Jordon and he needs to stop telling her things because she is telling everyone. Its time for Jeff to play for Jeff. And do whats right for his game not Jordons. And if that means without Jordon then that is what he should do.
Love your post, Genie, and I agree, too! From Jeff's viewpoint, getting Russel out at this time makes the most sense. I am a little worried about Jordon sabotaging Jeff's game, but I really hope she is 'team Jeff' all the way to F2...
I am just going to be watching to see what happens. I'm still hoping for J and J in F2, but if it ends up being any of the others, that's okay, too. Just gonna enjoy watching the game as it unfolds.
Also gonna continuing loving BBDISH!!! :)
Great post Genie!!
You have made some really great points. I was really getting disgusted with Jeff about the "trusting" Nat and Kevin to NOT put him up (WTF is he thinking?) BUT, can he REALLY trust Russ either?? I really have come to conclude that for Jeff to make it further, he MUST get rid of Russ now (I think Russ would screw him in a New York minute!) He knows Michelle is tougher to beat than Kevin (IMHO) and so she will be his next target after Russ. I really cannot wait though for him to get the shock of his life (will it REALLY shock him?)when Kev or Nat put him on the block (IF they win HOH! lol) This next week ought to be very, very interesting in how it all will play out....
I am still rooting for J/J in the F2!! I just LOVE them!
