BB12: Beginning of Friday the 13th

Good Morning BB Lovas!
Happy Nomination Day!

The game has reset in BB fashion, and there will be much activity on the live feeds today!

From the nomination chair to the HoH bed, Brendon went yesterday. As the evening unfolded, a couple of key game-related developments came to light. Brendon's target seems to be Ragan not Matt, however he or Britney will no doubt be joining Ragan on the nomination block. That's not surprising. What is newsworthy, however, is Brendon's rise in estimation in Hayden's and Enzo's eyes over Matt. Matt saying that he might use the PoV on Ragan or Britney (which also gives us an indication of his thoughts on using the DPoV), has made him suspect in their Brigade eyes. They also think that Britney leaving the game would bring Lane back more solidly into their alliance, so look for some possible pushing on their part to get Britney out of the game first.

For a better look at the events after the HoH Reveal please refer to Carolyn's Overnight Report!

This morning and afternoon, we will be looking at meetings and campaigning before the Nomination Ceremony gets underway, followed by its aftermath. What a better way to celebrate Friday the 13th? :)

8: 52 AM BBT

Matt is already getting creeped out. He hears some noises, like barrels dragging. He gets up to investigate. Then can't seem to settle down, as he pops up from the blankets every few seconds. Something has spooked him....

9: 20 AM BBT

Matt & Ragan are up and and about. Ragan lies down in the Cabana, Matt goes to the washroom. and joins Ragan.

Matt: I know that something's out there. I'm probably just losing my mind.
Ragan: I was just lying in bed.
Matt: It started about an hour ago. You didn't hear them?
Ragan: (yawning) It's cold in there...

They speculate about what's going on outside. (They are on Lock Down.) Matt thinks a luxury challenge maybe?

Ragan: I don't know what to do...
Matt: About what?
Ragan: This situation.
Matt: We do the best we can.

9:27 AM BBT

Wakey, Wakey House Guests! It's time to get up and face your new reality!

9:38 AM BBT
They're up!

Brendon is getting dressed in HoH and comes downstairs.
Matt and Ragan have moved to the hammock. Lock Down over.

Ragan: I have been thinking about my position in all of this and how I got to this point... If he were a logical player, he wouldn't have us as targets. But he isn't a logical player... SO if I go through how I got here and the reason for the fallout. The reason they didn't go out in week 3 is because of the two of us. Then Rachel got HoH and totally (lost it) it made it impossible not to put them up.
Matt: You're not a direct target. You're a target but you're not public enemy number one. YOu have a better chance of arguing that point. How I got here, I understand sort of. For you, you didn't put him up. You saved him week 3.

Ragan: If he can't see that it's been impossible in the house, after Rachel became HoH the second time. It was impossible.
Matt: Giving up is not a great idea.
Ragan: He's not, when it comes to thinking things through, he's not very smart. He doesn't understand the interactions in this game. He doesn't get it.
Matt: Maybe he didn't understand because he was wrapped up in Rachel. She's gone now...
Ragan: He wants your blood though.
Matt: Right. He doesn't want your blood. And in the meantime I'm going to try to play for Veto.
Ragan: How do we get out of this week. I just don't know how we get out of this week.
Matt: Giving up is not an option... You and Brit were talking in bed, this is a blip on the radar. This isn't it for me. This is an opportunity that I need.
Ragan: I would never in a million years put you under the bus. But if I could talk my way out of going up. Say he puts up you and Britney, and one of you win PoV which is likely... I just feel the way he operates. He goes after...
Matt: That's how Rachel and Brendon played the game. We don't know how he plays the game without her. Poor lonely b*stard in the HoH...
Ragan: When she had her meltdown after her second HoH and I talked to her, and told her she was killing her game. She wouldn't see it, and I couldn't associate myself with that...

He goes on to say that he felt baited by Rachel when she continually referred to him and Matt as an alliance. He says there are no alliances in the house, just a series of friends.

Ragan: I don't like the fact that Hayden and Enzo said that they changed their minds at the very last minute.
Matt: What do you mean?
Ragan: After the eviction, he said the house flipped at the last minute. (When it isn't the case)
Matt: You can certainly tell him the people he is trusting, he can't.
Ragan: The thing we actually have in our favor... if a deal is made. That deal means something. There is a history in this game that proves that. He can't say that for anyone else.
Matt: I would agree. We are both very straight forward people. To a fault...

Matt tells him that he shouldn't worry about him when he talks to Brendon. Ragan insists they are a package deal. Matt thinks it would implicate him less if he doesn't include Matt in the deal...

They gone on to remunerate all the reasons Rachel became a villain in their eyes.

BB: Matt, Ragan. Did you change your batteries?

They get up, on their way inside, Ragan says good morning to Kathy who is having a smoke.
Matt: Do you know the answer to that question already? You condescending f*ck. Just kidding. I love you Big Brother.

Britney, Matt & Ragan meet up in Storage. Matt and Britney join Lane and Enzo in Jumanji. Britney and Ragan leave and Enzo tells them that Ragan and Britney will probably go up. He is worried that one of them will win PoV and put up one of the Brigade members. Matt says, "I see." Matt wants Brendon out. Enzo wants everyone except the Brigade out. He is fired up against Britney and Ragan who have been acting like babies (edited for content.

10:15 AM BBT

Ragan goes up to HoH.

Ragan: And do it begins... We have to talk.
Brendon: Absolutely.. First I want to apologize for the personal attacks.
Ragan: I understand... it was heated... We'll get to that. The first thing I want to discuss how the wheels of our friendship fell off and Second where do we go from here. I don't blow smoke up people's asses. I am straight up. I was on team Brendon and Rachel. During the surf board competition, I wouldn't get off unless Matt agreed to keep the two of you safe. The first thing that made me upset with the two of you was when Matt put up Kathy and Andrew. When we went into that PoV, I was the only one rooting for you....
Brendon: I remember.
Ragan: I was the only person who had your backs. The first time I went WTF was when you were campaigning for Andrew to stay... that to me told me that you and Andrew have some kind of deal and working together. What made me angry, out of everyone in the house who you could have pulled aside and said this is what's going on... I felt it was straight up duplicitous... The seed was planted there. Where am I in this equation... So the second thing was Rachel's meltdown after her second HoH made it impossible for anyone not to put the two of you up (**paraphrasing) After having this long conversation with her saying that she can't do that. She had this long speech during the nomination ceremony she told Kristin and Hayden that it was just for TV.
Brendon: I know. I told her that she was being dramatic.
Ragan: So during the PoV competition when she broke down after I gave her the 5k
Brendon: She wasn't upset about that, she was afraid that Kristin would get the PoV.
Ragan: It made me feel awkward and implicated.
Brendon: No she was worried that Kristin might still get the PoV. I know I was perplexed at her behaviour as well, but she told me that.

Ragan: My worry was that implicated me.
Brendon: I don't think you need to worry about that.
Ragan: I was asked that in the DR...

Bubbled.

Ragan: So the next thing that happens is the next HoH competition. Everybody going into that competition was saying Brendon and Rachel are going up. The only way you were not going up was you winning HoH or me winning HoH. That competition was a complete mind f*ck. I went into DR (Bubbles) When I brought Kristin into the HoH room...

He tells Brendon about when he tried to get Kristin and Rachel to work together. Then he goes on to say that there are no alliances just friends. He goes on to reinforce the fact that everyone was gunning for Brendon and Rachel during the paint can competition.(** He is spinning that the reason he stayed that long in the competition was to protect them.)

(*What I find interesting in this is why Ragan didn't sit down last week with Brendon and Rachel to air these issues. Would he had even bothered if Brendon had not been HoH?)

He goes on to explain his reaction to Rachel's implication that he and Matt were in an alliance in the Cabana. He says he got angry that they assumed he was in Matt's ear to get them out.

Brendon: The whole Andrew thing... I did feel for him and we were friends. I thought we were cool and he wouldn't put Rachel and me up. Him going around telling people he would put us up, was to protect himself...
Ragan: Well that's another piece in the puzzle... I had a conversation with him saying I don't agree with the things he's saying (against Brendon and Rachel). He said you haven't had a conversation with Brendon? I love him...
Brendon: I thought that we were cool with him. I thought he was not associating with us because we were a virus.
Ragan: The way I saw it was that the two of you (Andrew and Brendon) were keeping the two of you secret. I don't have a problem with this. It's part of the game... I just felt cut out. Here's where it gets personal. I have a long history...
Brendon: I'm sorry, it was impulsive, I put you as a have not.
Ragan: I understand. I realize what you were doing with Rachel was chivalrous.... given what I have been through in my life. For someone who I have cried to about being bullied, to bully me... Truly, and I say this from my heart, I got in trouble in this game because of the friends I made in the game, and that's including you... The minute I started feeling bullied, I immediately shut down... when I was having the conversation in the Cabana and you came in and I felt bullied...
Brendon: I honestly would not have come in if it was just you and Rachel, I would not have come in. I thought it was Matt... Britney told me "they are going at it.." so I came in.

Ragan explains to Brendon that the reason he didn't want to talk to Rachel was not to be mean but because he knows when he's angry he knows to walk away otherwise he will make it worse.

Ragan: When things went off was when Rachel's version of events versus my version of events...

He goes on to explain the maniacal laughing incident after she came in DR. He tells him to ask Enzo, that's what happened. He explains the incident in the hammock almost exactly the way it happened.

Brendon says that he wants to apologize to Britney again. He explains that his whole behavior was a way for him to go over Rachel. Ragan tells him that he has seen him defending Rachel even though he Brendon doesn't agree with the way Rachel does things.

They apologize to each other. (**Game or not, this is a very open and hopefully healing conversation.)

Ragan: Now let's talk future... I think that the game changes for you because you are playing as an individual... so here's my pitch... I think that you are an intelligent person and you can probably sense what is going on in the house despite what anyone might be saying to you...and this is a sentiment that existed since week one is... I will give you the same advise I gave Rachel... Be observant.
Brendon: Just to clarify the sentiment is that now that Rachel is gone and I am next?
Ragan: Yes. You need to think what each person will do if they win HoH... one thing that I have on my side is that neither one of us (Matt) will make a deal with you that we don't have intent on keeping and lie to your face... I think that you're probably aware that there are people who will tell you what you want to hear and will cut your throat the next week. And I am not one of those people...
Brendon: I believe you... you being an emotional person you will be genuine (*paraphrasing) I want to give people the benefit of the doubt. This conversation made me trust you and I want to apologize for all the things that happened. I give you my word. I won't stab you in the back...
Ragan: I can promise you right now in the game, if you do not make real deals this week and you don't win the power of Veto next week, you're gone.
Brendon: I figured that.
Ragan: I wanted to come to you early in the day because everyone will want to come up. Think of how people will be playing and have been playing the game. I'm not sitting pretty right now but I have had your back... and this last week we definitely had our problems and the one thing I can tell you I have not lied to you... and there are people you will have conversations with today that have done so... I will leave you with an analogy... (**I spaced out) I am open to making deals.
Brendon: I'm open. I can see paths. I can see the forest for the trees. Rachel and I see things see differently and play the game differently and I would have played it differently (without her).
Ragan: If Britney or Matt leave, and I don't want them to, I would have only one person in this game, and that puts us in a similar boat... If I go up against Britney or Matt, I go home. Lane, Enzo and Hayden are a package...

Brendon talks over him at this last point and doesn't hear. Ragan explains that Kristin going home was bad for his game, but Hayden will have the boys.

Ragan: What's determining the house votes, there is a cluster of votes determining the house. Enzo makes his decisions on what Lane is going to do. Lane and Britney vote together. And it goes from there. That's why the house votes as a block. There is one person that was continuously saying why not get rid of Brendon. Let's see if you can guess who it is, to see if you have a good read on people.
Brendon: Hayden? Kathy?
Ragan: Enzo. To the point that people were asking why Enzo was saying it. That's just a bit of information for you (**Information that is meant to throw Enzo in a bad light but will lead Brendon to conclude that Enzo did have his back because that's what Brendon wanted)

11:02 AM BBT
They hug it out and I get ice for my fingers.

11: 05 AM BBT
Storage Room
Hayden and Matt

Enzo: I don't know why he wants to get rid of him (Brendon)?
Hayden: I know he takes a target off our backs.
Enzo: we need to take him to final 6 with Kathy.
Hayden: Yep. Then he gets HoH and he gets rid of Matty.

They crack up. (**The Brigade have started eating their own..)

They go through several scenarios over the next few weeks. Hayden suggests that they put up Matt and Ragan if they are still there in the coming weeks. Enzo also throws out the idea that it would be great to have final four, them with Brendon and Kathy,,,(*And since they have no power this week, I will save my fingers for the HoH meetings)

11: 22 AM BBT
HoH
Brendon & Matt

Brendon: Sorry about the things that went down last week. I wanted Rachel to stay.
Matt: I know... I didn't vote.What's up?
Brendon: You tell me.
Matt: I don't know... You can get rid of me this week because I'm a competitor, and if you keep me if I'm a competitor
Brendon: So it is safe to say if I don't put you up will you reciprocate (*paraphrasing)
Matt: Let me ask this. If one of the two you put up wins PoV then what?
Brendon: Then it will be different.
Matt: Who are your targets?
Brendon: I don't have targets per se.
Matt: So even if I am put up as a renom, I won't necessarily be the target.

(**Note: Matt has made no promises, nor answered any questions. He is sitting laughing throughout.)

Matt: Whatever you decide will be duly noted by me. Good or bad. (He emphasizes that no matter who would have been HoH last week other than Brendon and Rachel, the outcome would have been the same.
Brendon: And I'm assuming if I make a deal. you're good for your word.
Matt: I have been. (**Note the tense. It's very important. Also, he hasn't really made any deals with Brendon)
Brendon: I feel like I would rather someone like you wins the money over someone who doesn't deserve it.
Matt: well, if you go by what you have been spewing the whole time, then you won't put me up.

They end their conversation and both come down. It's Kathy's turn next.

11:33 AM BBT

Brendon: There is nothing to talk about. I have already told you you were safe. Real quick whoever we decide that should go home. It will probably be a strong competitor.

Their talk is cut short by the Have Not Lock Down. Brendon tells her he appreciates her for being genuine...

11:37: AM BBT
External Lock Down for Have Not Reveal. General chit chat. (**Is it just me or does the atmosphere feel lighter?)

12: 48 PM BBT
Lock Down over.

No sign of the have not food but small Table!

Ragan: We're like the size of a small family!
Enzo: And one of us is the Saboteur...

They give each other a high 5!

They disperse...

Britney: I was hoping it was the food. I'm hungry.
Enzo: Final 8 is cool, but Final 4 would be awesome... We got the smaller table.
Britney: It's not that great...

Happy, happy, joy, joy hamsters!

12: 57 PM BBT
HoH
Britney & Brendon

Before he comes up, she says "G-d. This is going to be bad" and she grabs some tissues to get ready. They talk a bit about his family, nieces, sister.

Brendon: All that aside. Personal stuff, I want to apologize for all the things I said last week. PoV, I did that because I wanted Rachel to stay.
Britney: I understand why you did that... at the same time I will stand up for myself.
Brendon: And that personal stuff I said when I was out there, I was upset that Rachel was being targeted. That stuff was directed at Ragan. I know how hard it is to be without Rachel and I know how hard it is for you to be without Nick. I'm sorry I said those things about telling you that Nick would cheat on you. I'm sorry I hurt you.
Britney: You did.... (*She cries)

Britney goes on to say that she hadn't turned against Rachel...

I hope Brendon does get the Pandora's box .

If he opens the box, Rachel gets to come back into the house to compete again.
BUT!!!!! When Brendon or Rachel gets evicted they both get evicted.
That would be so much fun to watch.
And that would save them from doing 2 double evections.

Good morning every one.

Question for you guys. Ragan just said that after Rachel's second HOH it would have been impossible to expect anyone not to put up Brenchel ... that Rachel's behavior was outrageous (basically).

It seems to me that Rachel has always been Rachel. She's always been sort of a lovable, though very annoying wacko. She is who she is, but she is consistent (in her inconsistency) and for the most part harmless. (She had her moments, but she's basically a nice, albeit often irritating, person).

On the other hand Ragan changed dramatically. He believes it was in response to Rachel. What do you think he means? What does Ragan thinks Rachel did, and did she actually do it and I'm missing it?

wahoooo!! This turn of events ought to shake the house up rather thoroughly. I haven't really jumped on anyone's team this season, I'm more looking forward to how the game plays out. The sidelines are more fun this year.

I caught a short snippet of Rachel's interview again this morning and I didn't realize how much her endward-lilting voice annoyed me. You know, like, everything is, like, a question? So very fake. It bothers me when anyone does that, not just her.

Happy Friday everyone!

oh ragan. your naivety is killing your chances at winning this game. OF COURSE there are alliances. just because you haven't made any doesn't mean they don't exist. some people in this house TRULY want to win and will align themselves with other players to do so.

Good morning all!

I am so happy for Brendon. It's going to shake up the house and I can't wait!

I was also glad to hear Hayden and Enzo admit to liking Brendon, which I had suspected for a while. I would love to see those three team up. Why wouldn't you want to take Brendon to the final 2? No one else likes him.

I don't know what Matt will do. I admit that after reading his last HOH blog, I like the guy. I just wish he hadn't lied about his wife.

If someone else has already said this, I'm sorry...I'm behind on reading. Remember Season 10 when Jessie came back in a gorilla suit for the riddle? I suspect Rachel might come back for something like that. Just another theory.

Jane!! - Ragan is referring to her total power trip after her second HoH. The way she treated Kristin. From his limited perspective Rachel is the villain in all scenarios in the house. (I'm so glad you're back with us!)

Hum, Ragan is such a mess of projection. Why should this game be played to honor his difficult life experiences? No on has that obligation, and even if they did, they barely know him, how could they even know what he needs?

I am not justifying Brenchel's actions necessarily, but why on earth does he believe they should have behaved to suit him?

I wouldn't mind Britney leaving this week either... but honestly I want to see one of her "boys" put her up (LIKE ENZO! PLEASE!!! or Hayden. I don't like Enzo BTW, he lost me when 'If you nominate me I will find you and your family and kill you!' and 'Can I spit on them?' Comments...) I want to see Britney suffer for FAILING TO REALIZE as she had ONE WEEK AGO that Rachel was her BEST SHOT to go to final 2! What an idiot, blinded by cattiness.

And, BTW, everyone who says Rachel took out the girls. Rachel went after the people vocal about going after her... Monet and Kristen. That is not going after girls, that is going after people coming after her. I believe if she had it her way, she would have gotten Matt out and not Kristen but Kristen forced her hand.

Brendon trusting Hayden and Enzo is actually turning into a good thing for him because they know Brendon is loyal and may break from Matt for Brendon AND AND AND... keep him to final 6, which will probably give Brendon a great shot at final 2. If there is Hayden/Enzo/Matt/Lane/Kathy/Brendon... I can see Kathy putting two and two together, getting with Brendon, she steps up her game, Enzo and Hayden run like the floaters they are to power, and... Brigade actually broken up. of course, if Brigade make it to final 4, I don't care because Kathy is also an idiot who keeps going after her only chance to win this game... I still can't believe her turning everyone against each other when they were all on her side!

Anyways... GOOO Brendon!
Kathy win POV!
Matt/Ragan stay on block!
Matt, use dPOV so Hayden/Enzo REALLY won't trust you and put up Britney!
Oh, better yet, I think if it's Ragan and Kathy on the block, Hayden and Enzo and Lane might still vote out Ragan.
Whatever the case, Matt use your power so your alliance really won't trust you and Ragan, go home!

Hey dishchicks! Carolyn! Genie! Lessa! I just watched last nights episode. Wow, what horrible editing! I really think this might be my last season of BB because not only is there no one to root for (as in, actually like) this season, Allison Grodner is just royally screwing the viewers and the SAB TWIST is lame! Y'all do a great job of keeping me interested.

Anyways:
Get Ragan outta here Brendon! Matt expose your dPOV somehow, just make sure Ragan goes home!

I don't know exactly what Ragan's talking about, but my guess would be the second HoH really went to Rachel's head and she got aggressively arrogant

I don't think Rachel had any more of a power trip during her HOH than anyone else. She was more dramatic about it than most. But that's who she is. At least she has the courtesy to be open about it, rather than vicious in secret during pretend talk shows.

I'm not her defender, I just think glass houses ...

Besides, she was right about how Kristen felt about her, and probably right about what would have happened if she trusted her. And even so, Rachel acknowledged her mistake afterward (which personally, I am not sure was a mistake).

What gets to me, personally, is hypocrisy and self righteousness. I am far more sympathetic to Rachel's lunacy, what you see is what you get.

Here is the thing about Matt....

Is he a great strategist and game player? YES! But for me, it is his inability to look 2 steps ahead. He is either very short sighted or unreasonably long sighted.

Example: This week he is very Gung-Ho about not kissing Brendon's butt and says he is fine being on the block, etc. etc. etc. That is all fine and dandy when you have the DPOV and know you are safe this week. BUT that is only thinking one step ahead: he is only concerned with this weeks safety. What if Brendon gets POV next week and gets a 2nd HOH the following week? Then Matt has completely screwed himself. He also can't be naive enough to ASSUME that the Brigade will remain 100% loyal... his cockiness looks suspicious and may make them think that he has an alliance with everyone. If he were truely the game player and strategist that he gets credit for, he would still be kissing Brendon's butt and try to stay good with him.

Example: Matt has been talking about the end of this game, needing jury votes, etc. since WEEK 1! For a short sighted player, he sure has big plans! He is so worried about final 3 deals and jury votes for the final 2 that he is starting to lose sight about what is going on IN THE MOMENT. The Brigade is starting to turn on him, his only other ally is in danger this week, but he is still worried about jury votes and the brigades final 4 appearance....

I give him credit for having made some of the best moves so far this game (personally, as much as I HATE HATE HATE to admit it, I think Enzo is playing the best game right now) but what kills it for me is (1) his cockiness and (2) his short sightedness

Jane!!! hi. I like your comments, and I'm glad you are sharing with us again.

I know JEssie came back, but had he made it to Jury at that point? I don't think he was a Jury member in his first season, but made it in his second season.

I think that if there were really a chance of Rachel coming back this season, they would not have shown her any goodbyes because they could change the gameplay. Perhaps Chenbot was referring to another All-Stars of some sort? Or maybe coming back in another season like ED and Jorff and Jessie have all done.

I still say Jessie spells his name the girly way.

What Ragan is seeing, in his eyes, in my opinion, is he liked Kristen. He saw Kristen and Rachel turn on each other and they appeared to be friends. What he DIDN'T see is Kathy lied to Kristen about Rachel and vise-versa turning them against each other and in turn, Kristen against Andrew. Kathy saved her butt that week.

He didn't like in Rachel's first HOH trying to "split the house." Rachel's first HOH, she was so nearly close to figuring out the Brigade and knew the only way she could see the full picture was to put up Andrew. Had she done that, this game would be so different. But he saw treachery with that, that is where the fallout began.

Then Rachel got his FRIEND, Kristen out. All he saw was his friend HURT and didn't see Rachel STILL TRYING TO MAKE A DEAL with kristen and wanted her friendship and apologized to her. He just saw the Rachel that kristen painted for him.

He also is all wrapped up in Matt's arms he is thinking with his little head.

Happy mid-morning everyone!

These hg's were so focused on getting Brendan and Rachel out, I can't believe not a one of them floated the idea of taking either to final two.

Especially Rachel. There's no way she would have won against anybody in f2. Especially the brigade. They will never vote for a woman (I don't think their egos could handle being bested by a female). Anyone going up against Rachel would win for sure. But maybe that's what they're saving Kathy for.

Does Ragan care to explain why it is illogical for Brendon to target him and Matt? First, it isn't illogical for him to target ANYONE in that house because they all want him out and every single one of them would have gone after him this week.

Second: Hayden and Enzo are at least PRETENDING to play nice (and as it appears, they might REALLY start playing nice with him in the very short future) and they are the only hope at an alliance in this game... so it would be illogical to get rid of them!

Lane has remained fairly neutral in all of this... so that just leaves the other three of them. Oh, and notice how I forgot about Kathy? Exactly... she might as well not even be in the house, as Brendon says, she is a waste of an HOH (which is exactly why she will probably go to the end, but joke's on them... at this point I think it would be hilarious if she won the whole season)

So really, the only logical choice IS the 3 of them... especially since Matt and Britney are the only ones who have won a competition for HOH or POV... they are explicitly against him AND they have won the most power in the game and it is illogical for him to go after them and their little lap dog, Ragan?!

I think alot of people gave Ragan credit because he talked alot about strategy and pretended to know the game. Over the last 3 weeks he's done nothing and apparently his best plan to save himself this week is to garner sympathy votes.

That's why I love Brit. She crys easy, but she's one tough cookie. Now accepting apllications to join Team Brit.

@Shannon: Hahahaha! Exactly! Who plays big brother and doesn't think there are alliances in the house? The whole point of alliances in this game is that no one knows about them... and the fact that he and Matt are so close yet STILL don't have an explicit agreement should tip him off even more that Matt is in an alliance with someone else... if your best friend in the house won't even commit to you, wouldn't you think something is up?!

His rational is to go weeping to Brendan that it was all a misunderstanding and gently put it on Rachel i guess. Rachel may not have inwardly been on anymore of a power trip, but who cares what goes on inside. Her outward persona was offensive and rubbed everyone wrong

August 13, 2010 at 10:23 AM
Blogger Stephen Ritchie said...

@Genie: I think Jane's point was that even including the power trip (which I don't like to call it that... I think it was rooted in something completely separate from her winning HOH) Rachel has always been the same. She has ALWAYS been out there, she has always been loud, she has always been direct, she has always worn her heart on her sleeve. Ragan, however, all of a sudden changed PERSONALITIES. It wasn't so much his allegance to Rachel that is an unexplained change, it was just a change in his attitude... He seems to be blaming RACHEL for turning into a butt-head instead of looking in the mirror. He could have distanced himself from Rachel because it was better for his game in a less butt-holish way.

Was that what you were trying to say, Jane? I dont want to put words in your mouth. That's exactly what I was thinking though!

August 13, 2010 at 10:23 AM
Blogger Stephen Ritchie said...

@Jane: YES! Projection was the word I was looking for. Replace my entire last comment with the following sentence: "Ragan hates his own actions and attitude and he is projecting it onto Rachel as a defense mechanism."

August 13, 2010 at 10:25 AM
Blogger Stephen Ritchie said...

@Pyke: Exactly! I don't think Rachel cared about going after boys or girls, she went after people who explicitly said she was a target...

I will agree withyou on Matt being shortsided after we see what he does with the DpoV. He can completely change the game with it. I think it would be short sided for him to only think of a brigade final4 since I dont think he can beat any of them final2, but then again i think all 3 would chose him for final2.

Good Morning Genie, Caro and Dishers.

I just started the feed and I am hearing Ragan trying to explain away his actions in the house as far as game... I doubt he will own up to the character assasinations and apologize to Brendan and Rachel for that.

Anyway, I really hope Brendan isn't falling for this and keeps his two main targets Ragan and Britney. He won't put up Enzo and Hayden... and not Kathy from his convo with her this morning. I just don't want the Sab. 2.0. to be a success because it has been such a lame twist to this game.

The fact that Brendan even talks to Ragan shows he is a better person than Ragan... since Ragan wouldn't even talk to Rachel last week.

Kathy - These people are making a HUGE mistake by keeping her around this long. Seriously. Rachel and Brendan were all "We wanna get out all the non competitors" well...Kathy is going to slide right on by...even tho in my estimation she is playing a bit more than Enzo is.

August 13, 2010 at 10:41 AM

I actually think that Brendon will play this HOH smart! He has no reason (that he knows of) to put up Hayden or Enzo! So why on earth would he put them up! I also don't believe that he will put up kathy as any replacement nom. He knows she will go home! I think that if Matt uses the DPOV on himself, that Lane, Enzo and Hayden will vote out Ragen! I am not sure where Lane would stand with Brit! But, I think he will know that if he doesn't vote her out, that the Brigade will not have is his back! Most diffidently an interesting week ahead of us!

Hoping for Hayden to pull a HoH out next week and put up Kathy and ??? I don't think he will put up Brendon.

I am also hoping Rachel doesn't come back! I think the game is on now, and she will just mess that all up! Leave it alone! I never like when a house guest comes back! Takes the targets off other peoples backs and just puts it back on the returning one!

I think when Ragen gets out and sees why Rachel acted the way she did, he will have that ahhh haa moment! It will make perfect sense to him!

So interesting how Hayden, Enzo and Lane sat back last week, LET Matt when HOH, LET him get the blood on his hands to take out Rachel and put Brendon on the block and Matt even said in his DR if I remember correctly that he was getting tired of Enzo not playing to win.

Anyway, in my opinion, Matt has been playing the game and doesn't deserve to go. (Which he obvz won't with the DPOV). Anyway...I just think Enzo is a ...hmm he is nothing. I can't say he isn't playign the game because he is playing ALL sides! But his physical game sucks.

Good Morning Genie and fellow dishers...I am thrilled that Brendon won and I think the biggest mistake Matt could make is to use the DPOV...if he is up against Ragan or Britney and takes himself off and replaces them with Kathy, I think the rest of the Brigade will vote out Ragan or Britney anyways...and they will no longer trust Matt, which leaves him hanging in the wind with only Kathy and Ragn or Britney. He wouldn't be that dumb I don't think. I also hope Rachel comes back somehow. I would really like to see Ragan go this week, I guess it's kind of spiteful, but I don't think he desrves $20,000 for doing really nothing. I hope Brendon puts up Britney and Ragan so I can see their breakdowns..oh I am so mean!! Ragan is already crying all the time...why is it he cannot relate to what Rachel and Brendon were feeling if he is so sticken about losing one of his friends...I think Hayden and Enzo have the right idea thinking to keeping Brendon around...if it comes down to it, who would you rather be sitting next to in the end?

I just really hope Matt is in a situation where he HAS to use the DPoV and is in a situation where a brigade member is the ONLY option...

Kathy wins POV
Matt is Renom
Assuming HOH, Veto Winner and Veto Saved are all safe, Matt is either gonna risk it for the brigade and not use it, or he is gonna have to make a really tough decision... my money is that he would put Hayden up..... Hopefully he also says something insensitive, in true Matt fashion, like "I hate to do it Hayden, but... better you than me."

That really is a best case scenario for me.

@Genie: VERRRRRRRYYYY observant! Good Morning Genie!

After last night, not sure about posting comments. While not directed towards me by name, some comments still come through as directed at me . . .

What I like about BB is when someone is on the block one week and then the next week they are HOH. Something about the flip flopping of power . . . watching how the other HG's act towards the new power, especially when they were not very nice to them when they were on the block. This season it has happened almost ever week, yeah, love it!

Major bashing by the HG's and by the bloggers is just starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth . . .

Yes, I have done some bashing, too but I am going to do my best not to bash other bloggers or the HG's any more. That is not the type of person that I am; however, I do get sucked in . . .

This season has been harder than last season, I am sure it is because of all the negativity from almost all of the HG's, I am even guilty for getting into that negative thinking.

BBDish! Ya Gotta Have it!! has always been a place where I can read what others think, what is going on in the live feeds when I can't watch, and the commentary from our lovely DishChicks.

The shame is that Brenchel came together as a couple in that they have such totally different games.

Matt is sitting pretty no matter what because he has is DPOV in the event he has to use it. Given Brendon's comments to Kathy, I wonder if he will target Matt.

Jane - Okay, this is my take on it (love reading your posts): Rachel never changed, but Ragan was influenced. Rachel is simply Rachel...love her or hate her, what you see is what you get -there is no poker face. She gets excited, comes down, feels bad, apologizes and moves on. She puts everything out there. Her biggest fault may be her own immaturity, insecurities and insensitivity towards extremely sensitive paranoid people...such is Ragan.

Ragan is a character and much more complicated, constantly second guessing himself. He is so sensitive, needs attention and loves drama. He also likes to get his own way and rides the moral high horse. Yet, he can have an amusing sense of humor. He could not sway Rachel's thinking towards Kristen. He felt bad for Kristen and she worked him. Why did Ragan run to Kristen's defence anyhow...why not just stay out of it? Then you toss Britney in to the mixture. I think Britney saw Ragan's self-imposed self-right frustration towards Rachel's "powertrip" and took advantage of it (you know, misery loves company).

Everytime Ragan showed signs of clarity, Britney worked to keep him in the funk. She saw the opening with Ragan, as she has with everyone else mad at Rachel, and ran with it...while he was just so thrilled to have a common bond and be part of something with someone...even it was just temoporariy based on a Rachel hatefest.

I think matt realizes Enzo and Hayden are flipping (hence him telling Ragan that he could tell Brendan not to trust everyone). He is gonna jump off the Brigade ship and I hope just in the knick of time because Enzo is NOT staying faithful tot he Brigade.

I also agree, I am SO glad to have Rachel gone. Brendan is playing it so different and I feel...dare I say it? Relieved.

Hi everyone. OK, I'm back...couldn't stay away...just could not take the hate Brit and Ragan were spewing last week. What a different atmosphere in the house already, huh? I'm not gloating (OK a little bit), but I knew Brendon would come across as a much cooler dude without Rachel there. I knew this because I used to be him in a lot of ways, and I dated several girls like Rachel, until I realized what it was doing to me as a person. Girls like her eat up guys like Brendon and leave them broken. I'm not hating on Rachel, I just really feel for what Brendon is going through. On a side note, I cannot believe how CBS piled on, bringing on the ex last night. Of course she's going to say not nice things, that's why she's the ex. If I were a friend or family member of Brendon I would be livid at the way he was treated last night. It's bad enough getting dumped on by bratty housemates, but the show had to do it too? I edit/produce reality stuff from time to time, and I would never have done that to him.

Anyway, I am really liking the game again. I know I was going to give up on the season, but I got sucked in again when Hayden and Enzo seemed to genuinely be cool with Brendon last night. So many ways to play things this week for Brendon. Good to see things get a little happier around the house. A shake up was definitely needed. I now really like Hayden and Enzo again, along with my favorite, Brendon. I want Brit to go this week. But, I'm still up in the air if that is the best move.

Have a great day all.

I don't think it matters what Brendan does. He can't make a right decision bebause he's 100% clueless to what's been going on.

He could accidentally cause a situation beneficial to him, but his fate is gonna be determined by what happens with the Brigade, not by who he puts on the block.

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to stop by for a few while I'm on lunch ...

As a truly "sideline" watcher this season, I have to be happy for the outcome of this week's HoH. At least the week won't be as predictable as I had feared ... Here's to a house shake up!

BTW, one question on the DPoV ... is it used immediately before the voting begins or at the PoV ceremony .. kind of as an "oh by the way ... I won't be staying on the block"?

I think the Hayden and Enzo are getting off team brigade because Matt straight out told them he would use the POV on Ragan.

The side alliances are supposed to only be side alliances, right? Expendable, but wait, Ragan says they are not in an alliance they are just friends. ;D

Genie, I am so TEam DishChicks! By the way, I have sent a large package of fingers UPS same day delivery to all the DishC hicks, I have a feeling this week is going to be more talkative than others . . . I'm just saying . . .

During the surfboard comp, Ragan did say that he wanted to be sure Rachel would be safe. If I recall correctly though, he said he did not care what Matt's decision was in regards to Brendon.

I have to say that it sure seems like Matt is just itching for the chance to use the DPoV ... Almost like he begging to be put on the block just so he can witness the mayhem when he removes himself and then gets to name his own replacement.

I think he really likes to throw his weight around a little bit .. sort of a Napoleon complex ... and let the others know he's still in control of the game even when he's not HoH ..

Grace Kelly was an Academy Award winning actress. She wasn't a "simple girl" from Philly, though she was born there. She was a great and stunningly beautiful movie star.

Jane - Colleges have become so focused on "specialist" and high schools have cut back so many essential courses, that they are churning out people with partial educations.

I was always challenged by math. It frustrated me. So I go back to school and take an algebra course because I really wanted to learn.

For the first week we learned how to use a calculator. All the work was to be done with the calculator, no written work. I learned nothing but how to punch numbers.

HI Genie and Everyone!
Happy Friday!

This whole DPOV thing really upsets me. Back when you know who got it (I don't want to say his name and piss GaYToR off-lol) he earned it! Everyone was told about it and ALL players got to compete. I don't think this sort of power should just be handed to someone. I would have been fine with an America's vote also.
ok I feel better!

I won a BBLF mug yesterday by being one of the first 10 people to guess who would be the new HoH!
It wasn't given to me I earned it! lol

Hey Genie and fellow dishers, I just sent a message, but got a weird error so if this is a repeat feel free to not post.

Anyway, I was just thinking how the Brigade breaking up is nothing new. Every year alliances get so paranoid and start turning on each other. I did think this might be the first one ever to last, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

My opinion about the brigade break-up:

Matt has done 100% of the work while his teammates have reaped the benefits. They don't have any enemies in the house which bodes well at voting time. They want to keep it that way obviously. But how do they figure that Matt is a traitor because he wants to protect someone who has his back and will probably give him a vote?

I think if Hayden and Enzo defect, we may have a classic case of brain vs. brawn.

Maybe Jesse could give them an opinion of how well that worked for him.

Hiya Katie Blue - I feel the same way. Last year they all knew there was a power in play... this year they don't even know that and it's going to screw with people's decisions. Also, the Sab twist is the lamest in BB history!

Obviously the sab twist didn't work for Annie. So far it hasn't seemed to hurt Ragan, but it also hasn't added anything exciting to the game-either for the HGs or the viewers.

I wasn't loving America's Player in season 8 either. A couple of the things were funny but harmless. I really did not like Eric, but I did feel like it screwed up the chance for him to play the game the way he wanted to.

It worked for Dan because it was a one shot deal-plus he had to vote out Jesse. Ha Ha

We should get a smaller table this week, too, right? I always look forward to the table changing, because that messes up some of them, too, for some reason. Wasn't it Natalie in BB9 that always talked about the different table sizes and how she just wanted to "see the mini"?

just wanted to touch on Gabes post regarding brendon getting dumped on by cbs last night.

CBS had tied hands as far as getting video from family.
Brendon has stated (to Rachel) that he did NOT have his family's blessing in this endeavor at all. He also said they are pretty much non supportive in most of his decisions including his choices in women. So..........as far as his family being upset with CBS, i think they would hold Brendon to blame for anything negative that was aired. Notice his parents did not do the HoH letter. I get the feeling his relationship with his parents is very strained but I also get the feeling he still seeks there approval. As hard as it was to control Rachel, what little he did control I feel was out of respect for his parents.
During the convo with Rachel about his parents lack of approval he also pointed out his history with relationships gone bad. He said one of his family members (cant remember which one) pointed out that he should try dating an average looking girl without a boob job for a change to see if that might work out better for him. I found that comment very telling. Too bad its gonna take more heart ache for Brendon to get it.. ;)
