Big Brother 12: Monday Afternoon

Well! Brendon promised as delivered, and in his attempt to fall on his sword for Rachel, he gave a scathing speech during the PoV Ceremony. From Genie's PoV Ceremony Spoiler & Aftermath post, it seems much of it was directed at Britney. Even so, up in HoH, Matt & Ragan think/know it was a performance for their benefit, and Rachel remains the target in the house... for now.

Lane: Ever seen an Italian Greyhound?
Enzo: Like when you and me play pool? That's how much better an Italian greyhound is than a regular greyhound...
Britney: So the Italian greyhounds actually have an advantage in any competition, 'cause they're shorter...
Enzo: I kinda miss my miniature pincher. That little sh*thead...

Rachel joins the backyard crew in their tanning escapades...
Chatter about movies... then on to shots from fans and shots in general... Everyone's game, except Ragan, who says he doesn't do shots. Rachel will take em from fans or haters, she doesn't care.
Bellies start to grumbling and the topic turns to lunch, and what's on the menu today. Britney will be dining on Fruit Loops. Everyone else is leaning toward protein... Then, The Thong Song... They start talking about the song, the artist, the video (which I worked on, btw), wondering if he spray painted his hair silver or what... (***all I remember about the vid was thinking how awful and uncreative the wardrobe stylists were - before I heard the track - and how professional the artist was.)
1:28pm BBT - Talk turns to guns and "killin' stuff." Lane and Hayden are the leads in this chatter. Brendon, an inquisitive participant...

Brendon: Hey, you go to a target range with Kathy, who you think's gonna win?
Hayden: I'd say Kathy.
Lane: I bet she's pretty good.

Lots of Brendon mocking as they prepare lunch. It's the only topic.
Enzo: I think he's tryin' to be like Evel Dick.
Ragan: He never saw the season.
Matt: Ya know how Evel Dick spell it e-v-e-l? Brendon should be needle dick, but spell it n-e-e-d-e-l.
Britney near chokes on her fruit loops.
Britney: He's so nasty. Well, now we can't go back into the pool. His toenail's in it.
Ragan: Maybe later tonight.
Britney: Once all the water's filtered through it.
Ragan: It was so funny.. Like the Italian greyhound thing?
Matt: Was everyone in on it?
Ragan: Please call me to the Diary Room.
Britney: Yeah, I know.
Ragan: I just need to clear this blockage.
Britney: They haven't called anyone.

- Chatter in the pool is now all about oil, oil money and alternative fuels...
- Chatter inside on Cams 1 & 2 is all about Brendon and Rachel. Britney really wants to win HoH, so she can be the one to evict Brendon. Ragan wants to mess with Brendon's head before PoV. Rachel bashing ensues, once they tire of Brendon.
Ragan: I don't wanna turn into old Ragan. Did Rachel and Brendon call the house meeting Before or After...
Ragan and Matt do a bit of jedi training with Enzo.
Enzo has a stab at it.
Enzo: Did ... F*ck. F*ck..
Ragan: You sound just like Julie Chen.
Enzo: Did... Brendon call Matt Ronnie before or after Kristen was evicted?
Ragan continues the Jedi training with Enzo...
Ragan: True or false, Did Andrew become the spokesman for jdate after leaving the Big Brother house?
ALL: False.
2pm BBT - Rachel enters the kitchen area, so the bashing and jedi training stop. She asks Ragan if they can talk, and he says later. A few minutes before she entered, he was bashing her for trying to talk to people...
2:14pm BBT - Jedi training with Matt & Enzo at the dining table...
2:15pm BBT - Before & After Jedi Training with Ragan and Britney on the double chaise in the backyard. Ragan's not as good on his facts as Britney is, but he's pretty solid... When asked, Britney reveals that she actually thinks it's a bit early for the Before and After comp, but it's always good to be on your toes. Ragan goes inside to see about his pizza.
2:17pm BBTAround the house...
- Pool - Brendon and Rachel are eating... Brendon actually in the pool, and Rachel on the ledge. Lane's making his escape.
- Couch - Britney & Matt. Jedi training, quietly, as Brendon and Rachel are within earshot. Britney's really good. She's missed a couple, but still, very tight. Matt says that everyone's doing very well with all the questions, so Britney should focus on the numbers, in case of a tie breaker situation.
BB calls Britney to the DR, breaking up her jedi session with Matt. Feeds cut to the kitchen, where Ragan is talking to Hayden about teaching methodology.

The HGs start talking about going to Vegas after the finale. More interesting is how much Rachel is doing the dutiful girlfriend, mother, wife role right now - fixing him lunch, running for a napkin for him, and she just cut his food for him.

Matt's on Kathy duty on the couch in the backyard. She's complaining that Rachel's not even asking her for a vote... talk turns to Kathy's Have Not situation this week, then back to griping about Rachel.
Rachel and Brendon are splitting time between enjoying each other and jedi training...
And it's nap time up in HoH for Hayden, Lane, Enzo, Ragan and Britney....It's 4pm BBT
All seems quite calm at the moment, so we're gonna take a short blog break (ie shower!), and check back in with the house guests at 5pm BBT. Please mind the critters while we're out. They do tend to misbehave when left unattended!

Nap time in the BB house has ended for some and just begun for others. Brendon was last seen showering. Matt's chilling, sprawled out on the backyard couch. Lane's on the elliptical, getting some cardio. All others are parts unknown for the moment...

Britney has just come outside, post afternoon nap. She's munching on chips, and she's telling Matt that Rachel was crying just now. Britney thinks it's something Brendon related.
Matt runs upstairs to grab some goody from his HoH room to share with Britney. As he comes back downstairs, Hayden and Britney are waiting for him in the kitchen. Enzo comes down from his HoH nap, andgrabs a piece of cold pizza from the counter to chow on.. They all notice what a pigsty the kitchen is.
Matt: No more voting out girls, guys.

Matt, Hayden, Enzo, Britney
The kitchen's disgusting, so they come outside to eat & talk about Brendon.
Matt: What's for dinner?
Britney: I think whatshisface is making fish, if you want to eat from the hands of Satan.
Matt: Michelle (Kathy) was saying she thinks Rachel's totally convinced she's staying.
Britney: You're doing a fabulous job.
Hayden: I talked to Brendon, and he was like, I just couldn't hold it in anymore... I'm tired of all the bs. He told me he couldn't hold it in like 5 times. He didn't tell me he was trying to get everyone riled up against him, but that was the underlying message.
Matt: Rachel said to me she'd love to come hang out up in HoH, but she never gets invited. I'm like, no one gets invited, they just show up.

They've lost it. They're all reading the ad copy on the junk food for entertainment...
Kathy and Ragan come out and join the group and the Rachel bash resumes...Kathy: What happened when she was crying before.
Britney: She was just sniffling like she wanted attention, so we ignored her.
Kathy: She was saying she was offended that she wasn't invited to the house meeting up there before, and she was gonna just bust in and go Hey!!
Britney: Those 10 minutes at the pool today were my favorite.
Hayden: Do you think he knew?
Britney: Oh yeah. He was laughing..
Kathy: What were y'all doing?
Britney and Hayden retell the tale of how they were ripping on Brendon in the pool earlier, along with Ragan...

Ragan and Matt chat about nap duration. Britney asks if anyone wants to play pool. Hayden does. Matt gets up to work out, leaving Ragan and Kathy on the couch...
Ragan: Uch, I'm dreading this conversation.
Kathy: You haven't talked to her yet?
Ragan: She asked me this afternoon, then I immediately went and took a nap. I don't wanna have this conversation.
Kathy: I know.
Ragan: It's so much easier in the real world, if someone's vile, you just don't deal with them. I don't want to have to deal with someone who's a raging psychopath.
Kathy: In the real world, I just put em in jail. I had to talk to her earlier today, and she was all bla bla bla how she donates all her time to charity...
Ragan: i think she's gonna have a big wake up call when she watches this season.
Kathy: So embarrassing. If I was her parents, I would take a switch and whip her.
Ragan: She was such a different person the 1st week.. Then it started a little bit the 1nd week..
Feed 3 flips to Brendon and Rachel. Feed 1/2 stays on Kathy/Ragan.
Rachel and Brendon are snuggling in Taj, turbo-whispering. His words are completely lost...
Rachel: If they do, then just let me go. I don't want you to do this.
Brendon: Don't cry anymore... You're my best friend.
Rachel: You're my best friend.
Brendon: When I look at you, I think of home.
Rachel: It sucks I have to do this without you.

Whispered Jedi training resumes in between kisses. Problem is, he's quizzing her, not the other way around.

Sweetie plane has been delayed 2 hours so far (it was all ready bumped 14 hours a couple weeks ago)
SO I get to finish work for the day, get home and nap now and then head out.

Ragan doesn't get the $20,000. Matt is exposed as the liar he is because he used the DPOV. The brigade is exposed.

Had a roast, with potatoes and carrots in a crock pot today, and wanted to make sure the Auntie was getting her dinner. Picked and sliced up a couple of big juicy tomatoes for a side. One giant red one, and one giant yellow one!!! YUM!!!
My doggie Nikki, still doesn't want to go outside!!! LOL It is SO HOT out there!!!!! I know it must be awful on her little paw pads, the poor thing.

I know we say 'hate the game. not the player', but this season really is making it difficult to do that. Isn't that supposed to go for the HG's also? Someone forgot to tell them that.
This season has become so predictable I would probably stop watching and turn off the feeds if BBDish wasn't my summer addiction.
There are so many to 'hate' this year. If I had a Quickie Poll to vote, listing the entire cast, I'm afraid I would have to ask for an "All of the Above" button.
An interesting waiting game might be to list everyone still in the house and try to find one single thing to say nice about him/her.
I thought the 'sheep' were bad. I thought 'the good people' were bad. I thought Dick was the worst of all (obviously I'm not one of his fans.) I thought Will and Boogie were bad.
I'm starting to look at all of the above differently and say 'entire cast' for BB12. No one makes me smile anymore, they are all either too catty or too clueless and have a collective one track mind., with only 2 of them on a different track and that track leads directly to their bed.
I liked Regan until this week but he no longer thinks for himself. I'm going to want to feel badly for him when he finds out he is only being used but I won't anymore.

Being a yankee, have you ever tried them? I rarely eat anything fried, but those are sooooo good. Really great when prepared with Cajun seasoning added to the cornmeal, and served with a ranch dipping sauce, or a horseradish sauce, something like Arby's Horsey Sauce.

Everytime the HGs start "jedi training" I think, ha! They're totally Jedi Training, and then I giggle because I learned that term from the wonderful DishChicks :-D Then I begin to pretend I'm a HG and call it "Jedi Training" out loud so you guys would get the shout out and love me forever :)
Don't forget "Home Life with Jordan" is on today. It will be interesting to get her take on the HG's especially since Jeff was originally supposed to spend the night in the house, not just host the POV.

Carolyn, thank you. I did Eartha Kitt's "I Wanna Be Evil". I started out so prim and proper in that green velvet dress, then I pulled out my Eartha glasses when I turn evil (hidden well in all that white pearl and beaded neck piece.) It was a money maker.
I walked through the audience and flirted and pushed away every man, but I didn't push them away until I got a tip out of them. I WERKED it!

GaYToR; I have to say I'm with you on the "bad boys/girls" of seasons past. I was also not a fan of the Evel Dick/Friendship/Chilltown ilk, but have since wondered if I wasn't too invested in other HG's to see the value in the playing styles of that villianous (sp?) crew (at least Evel and Chilltown, bcs I really don't think the Friendship had much "game" going on).
This season, even more than in the past, I have to give it up to the Ladies of the Dish for their forebearance, dedication and total committment to transcribe all so us "non-live feeders" can stay involved and up to date on the house. I just know I couldn't do it ... not with the constant negativity. It just has to be an emotional energy drain ...
btw, *sending super-charged healing crystals to the Ladies of the Dish to repair the tears in psyche, aura and the good energy fields we need to stay in balance* ... and for the "bleeding ears" syndrome ...

Hi Caro . . . as for your challenge, oh you remember the one, I have only been going to the gym faitfully for a couple of months now and I am way over weight!! I tried the elliptical and lasted about 1 1/2 minutes (really it was less) my thighs are killing me, I bow down to the Queen of the Dish and the Queen of the Elliptical . . .
My goal is to get to 5 minutes . . . gotta start somewheres . . .

Does anyone know if Rachel can give Brandon the money to trade places with her as she starts for the door?? Could this be a true possibility?? Course not sure they would even think about that scenario.
Also am I wrong, did (Matt) say the brogade is going to throw this next HoH comp to either Brandon or Britney?? Course Matt is the only one who knows that no matter who is on the block he is still in control.
Brandon is going to be soooo wrapped around their fingers next week even if he is HoH. They will mold him like playdoh. He wont even have a clue.

I think it's cute the way Rachel and Brendon think that Rachel will be staying in the house Thursday.
I also think it's cute that they talk about how stupid everyone is since they have the whole house figured out--even the fact that Lane is the saboteur.
And I think it's super cute that Rachel said Kristin was a terrible person for campaigning for herself last week because that proved how selfish she was and that she didn't care about Hayden. Letting Brendon throw his game away (well, at least that's what she thinks he did) isn't selfish at all--it's just proof of how real their love is.
O.K. I know that was nasty. I just figured if you can't beat 'em you may as well join 'em. Now I need to pull my claws back in and go cough up a hairball.

@ Gaytor, Brendon's Toe Story :-)
As we all know Brendon runs marathons. Typical of that is losing your toenails, especially the big toe. Fairly common with other marathon runners I know. Apparently his got infected and so it is a thick and ugly looking toenail. I believe it is on his left foot where he has a rather large bunion so with his size 13 feet, it generates a lot of attention. And you know this bunch of hampsters, give them an opening and they go for it.
Caro, I know you didn't reject it. It was one of the cleanest posts I've ever typed. I always know when I'm going to get spanked. I figured it was Blogger and lost in the world of never never land.
Then again, it may show up next week.

I have had a couple of brutal days so I haven't been around, but I have been reading, watching.
Even I am getting a little sick of every single conversation turning to bashing -- but I remember feeling the same way season 6..not loving it then either.
I sort of understand to a degree how Brit feels about Brendon though. Sometimes, there are people that we just don't like, for no apparent reason. I have someone in our group of friends that I feel that way about. As soon as she walks into the room, I feel my body cringe ~ I don't bash her and cut her up (there isn't even a ton to complain about) on a constant basis, but I have to wonder if I was stuck in that house with her. There is so little discuss and not a ton of outlets for your anger, fear, frustration, disgusts etc...
I strongly disliked some of the players in season 6 for how they acted, things they said, and so did almost everyone else I spoke to. Every year we say the same thing: they are showing their true colours. I still think that, but on such a tiny scale and under such a massive microscope that I am no longer willing to dislike any of them for trash talking or lying or back stabbing to ANY degree. Entertain me, make me laugh and I'm happy. It's a GAME, 500K for the whoever can get to the end regardless of HOW....may the best person win!

I don't feel sorry for Brenchel. Rachel has played an entirely emotional game and all her talk of fighting is bs. Week one Annie self destructed, week two she was HOH, week three super genius plan, week four she's HOH again. Exactly where was the fighting? This week when she should be fighting she gives up.
Another POV speech for tv. That and the comp should make Wednesday's show pretty good. If they can keep Brenchel believing that Brendon is going Thursday's show will be epic.
All that said I don't count her out yet. If BB feels her leaving will cause lower ratings or lower feeds watching they will do something to keep her. Here's to hoping that does not happen.

I have been finding myself leaning more and more towards Matt too.
I knew he was smart at the game. I wish he had not told the 'wife' lie or that he had told some random story about some fictional disease if he felt that was a necessary part of his game.
But he has played and basically carried his alliance. He has been strategic and he may have taken part in a couple smack-talking conversations, but he really has not been mean. He isn't making moves to attack anyone on a personal level and using the game as an excuse.
I also think that Hayden is a good person and hope that he steps up his game at some point.

Lisa, I couldn't stand Evil Dick, but I didn't think he was a hypocrite. Also, unlike most of the horrid beasts from past, with Ragan it really IS personal. I never love the brutality of the game, but I accept it. When the brutality is truly person against person it's hard to stomach.
Actually for the most part, the Brigade is playing an "honest" game. I don't meant they aren't lying. I mean it is game player against game player. They rarely initiate any vicious personal stuff.
I NEVER expected to be routing for the Brigade. It will be a dull final four, but at least I won't want to shoot myself in the head (as dear sweet Britney says).

Grendon: I agree . Matt is a good,strong player. My only problem with him was the lie about his wife. Hayden really seems like a decent guy and with Kristen gone seems like he will step up his gameplay. Neither really smack talk as much as the others.THey should dump the other 2 brigade members. I wouldn't mind seeing them as final 2. (in fact, didn't they at one point talk about a side alliance?)
