BB15: Most Offensive Comment of the Day
It takes a lot to offend BB4 winner Jun Song. I mean. A lot. Even so, Spencer managed it last night when he riffed into his mic about enjoying child porn, featuring 3 and 4 year old children, preferably shot in a basement in Minnesota.. Jun has now gone into a Big Brother Hiatus.
I understand from a commenter that Spencer was actually using McCrae's mic, while McCrae was in the shower, hence the Minnesota reference, and perhaps Spencer intended to be speaking as if he was McCrae? Either way... Really. Not. Funny.
On my facebook page, which is blowing up, someone commented: "The joke wasn't suppose to be about child porn...the joke was attributing something out of the norm to McCrae because he had his microphone.. Bad joke?? yes...but he in NO WAY was advocating child porn."
Andy and Amanda politely laughed and then steered the conversation away.. to anything else.
I was fortunate enough to miss it live. Here's the details for the flashback:
Go to Monday August 5th ~ 7:07pm ~ Camera 1
I went back a minute, looking for context, as if there could possibly be any... There wasn't.
40 Comments:
WOW!! That is enough to offend anyone! Makes me sick to my stomach!
I put my comment on the overnight report.
Any chance that Thursday they chew out the house guests, toss Spencer and Aaryn, and reset with what's left?

WOW! That is enough to offend anyone! Makes me sick to my stomach.. Get him out NOW!
Ummm couldnt spencer be arrested for admitting to liking to watch child porn? I find this vile, disgusting and he needs to be removed as should aaron I just dont understand why bb would even allow these vile creatures to stay..
ya I agree. It takes a LOT to offend me and that did it. There is no context joking or whatever that making that type of comment is appropriate, ever!! Joking about abusing little children is just plain disgusting. I really hope BB takes that FB down, and they do something to him as punishment. I am officially and completely grossed out by BB now.
I am NOT defending him in any way here but he was speaking int he was speaking into McRaes mic while he was in the shower. It was to be a joke inappropriate an inappropriate and disgusting.
OMG he is so going to regret this comment!
Check your facebook page it is getting out of hand
How ignorant can Spencer be! He even took his microphone off his shirt and put it up close to his mouth to make sure the producers heard him. He's a fan of BB. Does he not know the backlash that could happen to him! I'm pretty sure he was 'just joking' but that topic is not a joking matter and he should know that!
So how is child porn a joke in anyone's universe? Didn't think so...wow...just wow!
Are you friends with amanda because you ignore most ffensive comments like looking like a migrant worker and ?
Unfortunately, someone can't be arrested for saying that they like doing something wrong. He could only be arrested if actually caught doing something wrong or possibly promoting it to other people.
I think this season has shown us something that has become very common in all of reality t.v. It's called 'I bet my bad behavior can top yours' otherwise known as if they set the bar this high, I'm gonna move it a little higher. If they got away with that, I'm gonna see if I can get away with this.
Everyone knows the saying that 'bad publicity is better than no publicity'. There are some people who truly love the game just like there are still a few people who go on the Real World because they honestly love the experience. But a lot of these people are expecting more.
They go into the house talking about fans and the Brenchel army. There was a time when you had to actually be a celebrity to have fans. You had to be an entertainer or an athlete. Most people on reality are never going to be famous so the second best thing they can do is be infamous. We remember people like Dan and Kaysar because we are fans of the show. But the former HGs that have the biggest chance of staying in the public eye are not going to be remembered for being good, they are going to be remembered for being bad.
It's a sad state of reality television, but it is a part of reality.
I believe fully in freedom of speech, no matter how ugly or stupid. The offensive part to me is that he said it in Mccrae's mic implying that Mccrae is into that. Even as a joke, it says a lot about what Spencer thinks of Mccrae
Thank you Carolyn for following up on this.
The remark, imo, is the lowest of the low. My position is this, you c/n let something come out of your mouth that you, yourself isn't already thinking about. Child porn is not a subject that crosses my mind unless I hear something as vile as this.
People, it is not a joke, it needs to be taken seriously
@JohnnyLewis no, I'm not. It's simply impossible to keep up with every offensive thing said in this house, and if I were to try, the page would lose focus.
Wonder if these foul mouth, disgusting antics are affecting BB ratings. Seems to be as the season goes on the worst it becomes. How can they continue covering for these idiots.
That's why we are here for you Carolyn, we are your second set of ears and fingers. Thank you again for all that you do.
@Jumbo...I thought about that as well...either way it's sad that it was said by any of them.
@Johnnie....get off Carolyn's back. It's her blog she can report it like she want too.
Ian Terry has posted a long tweet putting Spencer's comment into context. I think he is accurate in his analysis. I just think the comments are so over any acceptable line that context is almost irrelevant.
Thank you so much for bringing this forward on the Dish. I am still seething and I read Jun's blog several hours ago. I don't know what to think or what to do.
I hope the Faulkner County Sheriff's Department is all over this and confiscates all of his internet and other media devices. I know they don't like that sort of thing in his neck of the woods and it was enough that the woods is where he might want to hide when he gets out of the BB house.
I've tried my best to understand this cast and learn to tolerate more than I normally do but obviously it is because I have missed so much and I'm glad I did. Ignorance was bliss but now that I've heard it for myself I think I have to follow my gut feeling and be done with this season also.
It's not just Spencer but a compilation of all the vileness that has spewed from this cast.
This came on top of an article I read earlier tonight/this morning on Queerty.com about all the racist, hate, and downright ugly things that have come out of Amanda.
As if that isn't enough we can look anywhere and talk all day about Aaryn's ignorance, not to mention GM's and things from people who have already left the house and... Well if I wanted to pick it apart I bet I could find something that has offended me from the entire cast.
Someone needs to answer for this and everyone knows who and how many I think should do so. All the disclaimers in the world can't excuse this kind of thing. If I were in charge of CBS I would pull the plug on this show right now. Stopping it in mid-season would be a start in sending the message that "CBS really does CARE". CBS should also offer a full refund for those so offended they have turned off the feeds but it shouldn't punish the bloggers that have spent the time and energy to help them sell the feeds.
I would never leave the Dish but I'll be here doing what I do best and that is to make comments that are heavy with innuendo. I'm here to hopefully make some people laugh because it's what I enjoy doing.
I've babbled enough. I don't even know if I covered everything and I'm not going to proof read so overlook the spelling and syntax errors. I'm too damn sick to my stomach over this to care.

Hi all. CBS definitely needs to address this issue. Spencer is a creep. The comments that he has made to Jesse and about Jesse's private parts are just gross. He needs to go. I hope that his union does get rid of him and that his girlfriend dumps his ass. That being said I an worried that CBS wont want to have another BB and I truely love this show.. This season those is the pits. Does anyone else think it could be the end for BB?
@Darlene...the bottom line for any network is ratings. Unfortunately because of the antics of this particular cast people who don't normally watch are which increases ratings which increases revenue...well you get the point. So no this will not be the end of BB but I can only hope that the powers that be learn a lesson and cast more appropriately in the future.
I'm sorry but everyone is making to big a deal out of this. This is the kind of joke they do on Family Guy all the time. It's disgusting and inappropriate but it's a joke. I don't condone it but if this is blowing up facebook or twitter or whatever it's ridiculous. This is like people getting upset over song lyrics but the same thing is in books and no one gives a damn. It is perfectly clear that he is not talking about anything he's done or condones either. It was just stupid but still no worse than anything that's been said on this show this season or past seasons.
I'm not defending it in any way I'm just saying it's clear from watching it it was a inappropriate and stupid joke at McCrae and that's it.
I dunno...I guess I'm on the other side of the coin on this...
I don't accept child porn as acceptable in any way, and if someone ever did something like that with any of my kids, the cops would not have to become involved, I would handle the matter myself...
That being said, my coworkers and I every weekend joke with each other in the same manner. Anything is fair game if you leave your facebook open in the office with either of us 3 around, and it's only us 3 around on weekend nights. I've had my status changed to nearly the same thing that Spencer said into Mccrea's mic. I laughed it off, and the first chance I got, I paid the prank back to the offender.
That does NOT mean that any of the three of us would ever enjoy or condone child pornography in any way. Two of us are devoted parents away from the office, and would kill anyone who messed with our kids...the other is a 22 year old guy who has a wonderful fiancee and they hope to have their own kids one day, and I know he would never think to involve his child in anything like that.
Pranking another person does not even remotely imply condoning something.
Spencer's prank was just that, a crude prank akin to changing Mccrea's facebook status...albeit it was done in an inappropriate setting.
I can see though, how other comments that Spencer has made throughout the season about women in the house could possibly have set him up for more ridicule for this than what he would have gotten without the previous comments.
Just my two cents...don't hate me or vilify me for this....just presenting a different perspective on the matter...
Psst! The Morning Report is underway!
Is there any chance that the other houseguests were as offended as us, and vote to evict him Thursday? That would be sweet ....
Good morning/afternoon Carolyn! I love your blog!! :-)
Totally agree, Grendon
Really you guys are offended by this? What I think is wrong is that you actually visualized this. That is the only way one could be offended. He makes the worst kind of jokes and he did no advocated child porn at all. You guys need to stop being so easily offended. I understand taking racisms offensively but this is just a joke in it's worst form.
Only if he is caught n act or has it on computer...
Being a mom I'm completely disgusted. That being said. I don't think he really feels that way. I think he was trying to pretend to be McCrae & n his mind he was joking, however inappropriate it was, I don't believe he was intending any harm...
Totally agree
Like others I'm a long-time reader who has never posted before, but I couldn't let this pass. There is no excuse whatsoever for this kind of joking. When the "Aaryn is a Racist" story was blowing up I kept telling my husband that Spencer and Jeremy were getting a pass with all the misogynistic/racist/homophobic comments they were making. I didn't think Spencer could sink any lower than the "butterscotch" comments, but he's proven me wrong.
Thank you Carolyn, for all your work. This is by far the best BB blog out there!
I didn't think anyone could top Aaryn for her racial remarks.
I try to like/dislike players just for their game play.
I want Spencer gone - Yesterday !
It cld b enough yo get a warrant to search him computer. If he has any he's going to prison and I don't think they'll wait til Bb ends
It only crosses my mind because my teenage neice was rescued frm sex traffickers who shot her up with meth.
K don't see it being canceled but they may amend future contracts with a morality clause that specifically addresses racism and comments abt rape child porn etc.
But this is a real man not a fictional character who if I correctly understand said something abt enjoying it. Real ppl who do enjoy are the reason kids are forced into doing horrific sex acts on camera. Sorry hon but I disagree with u on this one
My heart is so heavy! Reality or not, racism should never be aired as entertainment. CBS should implement the biggest twist ever, make a huge statement and bring Howard and Candace back, and remove the two biggest culprits! Not sure I can continue watching my favorite show of all times.
